  1. Like in AZ... it seems most CUVs and SUVs sold there are 2wd.
  2. A bit much hyperbole, isn't it? You seem to have some weird hate of German cars and fans of those cars...
  3. Not sure what discussion of luxury marques has to do with Honda, but Mercedes-Benz has the advantage of a broad range--they have many coupes, convertibles, sports cars, CUVs, and SUVs...Cadillac's line is very limited--only one compact coupe and no convertibles.
  4. Monochromatic trim seems like a 'sporty' trim of the late 80s-early 90s, and blackout or black chrome seems to be a Millenial thing...I don't get it....regular chrome looks much better, IMO...it's hilarious--I'm in a FB group for Grand Cherokees and the most common posts are people asking about how to black out their chrome trim... black or body color trim just looks cheap to me, like a base trim level, not premium.
  5. Honda seems to avoid fleeting out the Accord. I have yet to encounter one in the rental fleets. In the last 18 months or so, I've rented the Malibu (current and previous), Sonata, Camry, Altima, Passat, and Fusion.
  6. ...and both of my Jeeps have been RWD biased SUVs..and built in Detroit (I think the older WJs where built there, I know the WK2s are).
  7. New Wrangler coming for '18, pickup version to follow in '19 is the current rumor..]but it has been rumored for years and years...given FCA's current chaos and confusion-driven leadership, I'm skeptical it will happen...I'll believe it when I see them on the lot at Spitzer Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (my local dealer in the CLE)
  8. Looks too much like a Ford..
  9. They are chasing the market...CUVs and SUVs continue to grow in the market, and fewer and fewer buyers actually care about driving experience. They are succeeding at delivering premium/luxury CUVs/SUVs targeting the mainstream UMC buyers/leasors like Acura, Cadillac, Merc, Lexus, etc, as the performance sports sedan market that was their core fades away. Anecdotally, I saw a lot of X3s and X5s in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area--they seem to be as common as Merc SUVs, Lexus CUVs, and JGCs there...maybe 8 times out of 10 they are black or white. I have seen a number of them around the Cleveland area as well.
  10. Saw a really sharp red w/ white stripes '71 Chevelle SS for sale today. Also saw a new Lexus RX in the Home Depot parking lot---ordinary luxo midsize CUV with weird styling, but oh that root beer brown paint...would love to have my Jeep in that exact color..(Jeep now has two browns for GCs, but nothing like that).
  11. Averaged 25.5mpg over 2099 miles on my road trip. Best tankful average was 28.3 mpg, on I-40 in flat, painfully boring Texas panhandle and Oklahoma.
  12. Couldn't have shipped the dogs though. Last time I shipped a car it was about $1100, 15 years ago. In retrospect, should have rented an RV or minivan to drive back here w the dogs. Jeep is too small inside for all that we crammed in it. That said, it drove very well...smooth and comfortable for long distance driving. .
  13. Finished the Valley of the Sun-Lake Erie Dash. 2087 miles, 46 hours, 25.5 mpg average. Exhausted. Jeep filthy, two rock chips on windshield, some rocker trim ripped off from running over object on I-70 west of Columbus. Wired from caffiene, need sleep. Was 105F when we left Phoenix Sat evening, 56F now in Cleveland.
  14. I like the Colonnade cars, esp. the '73s with the small rear bumpers. The Grand Am, Grand Prix, Laguna, and Gran Sport in particular...
  15. Couldn't tell, definitely looked like it had an engine--wasn't sitting high in the front..strange--in a carport in a residential area in Central Phoenix...hadn't noticed it before, but off a street I used to drive every day.
  16. The Challenger has an old school quality about it that I love...burly chunky '70s style..classic Mopar muscle in a modern form.
  17. Haven't seen it in person yet, may this summer when I go out to Denver to visit friends...
  18. A buddy of mine in Denver bought a new Civic hatchback (may have been an Si) the same day I bought my Jeep at the end of March. His is gray with the rear wing in red and other trim in red..definitely 'distinctive' looking..
  19. One Jeep color scheme I really like is the dark brown w/ brown interior (kind of a baseball glove color). The day I bought my Jeep, there was a GC Summit in the showroom in brown on brown..parked next to a purple Hellcat Challenger and a white w/ red & black interior Challenger 392 Scat Pack Shaker.....
  20. The funny thing is since I got mine I see them everywhere..there are a lot of them around Phoenix, and it seems at least 60% are black..
  21. I always see some in and around Phoenix esp. in the winter...people don't drive them here in the summer much...will be interesting to see what I see in the Cleveland area this summer...finally leaving for there this weekend....hitting the road tomorrow in the new Jeep w/ my sister and the dogs..
  22. Saw a dusty '73 Olds Hurst/Olds Cutlass (white, gold stripe, padded top), parked baking in the vile Arizona sun...looked like it hadn't moved in a long time.
  23. So using MLBEvo, they will have the Touraeg, Q5 and Q7, Cayenne, Bentyaga, and Urus. (along w/ Audi sedans). I wonder if Seat and Skoda will get variants also..
  24. Looks clean and modern, should do well..some nice details. Where as the Atlas is a practical family hauler for the US like the Pilot, Explorer, etc, this has more premium and global market aspirations...
  25. FCA does it that way also...Grand Cherokee is 2 rows, Durango is 3 rows. Albeit across 2 different brands, but same dealers..
