  1. Do you get it back out for winter use?
  2. Sports cars should definitely be the focus..a modern Spyder and a coupe of some sort. The market is flooded w/ FWD subcompacts, compacts, CUVs and other appliances..they need unique selling points.
  3. Holden will probably just get an Impala rebadge..they are getting the Malibu, after all...
  4. A stretched CTS-v wagon hearse would be interesting...esp. if you were in a hurry to get to the burial..
  5. Here's a couple pics of the red '12 Impala LT I had over the long weekend in Ohio. It was rainy last night, got into quite a bit of mud this morning coming up the hilly, curvy portion of the 3/4 mile driveway... I had a relaxing weekend visiting family...spent some time hanging out by the ponds, didn't go fishing, though.. Saw 4 deer strolling in the high grass near this pond yesterday afternoon... Even w/ the drought they've had this summer, it's still very green there...
  6. The ones at the airport were silver, white, and gatorade
  7. When are the ss and zl1 versions coming?
  8. I wouldnt rent one though..too tiny...red impala nicer
  9. On thurs i saw chevy spark in the wild for the first time..alamo had them in the rental car garage area at cmh
  10. Yep..my ohio rental is a red impala
  11. For me, it would be the Torino followed by the Charger then Road Runner. Or any of those 3 in another order.
  12. The Impala (at least looking at the pics) definitely looks better than the Taurus...which looks very slab sided, tall and narrow in person.
  13. hat
  14. Can't really say, probably a bit slower in acceleration....the 3.6 I drove a couple months ago I never got above 40 (was a dealer loaner, made a couple short trips around town), but the 3.0 seemed quite adequate in freeway driving..
  15. Saw a lot of Fiat 500s in the Bay Area..probably a dozen or more over the last 4 days... saw a sweet dark gray 11-12 Charger SRT8, first one I think I've seen. Other sights incl. a clean red Porsche 356 coupe, a clean orange Datsun 240Z, a grabber blue '13 Shelby GT500, and a very clean white '69 Impala custom coupe.
  16. The sedans probably have more headroom, though..didn't Balthy mention that the hardtops had limited headroom (because the seat is very thick?)
  17. Looks restorable..though I prefer the front and rear of '71 and '72..
  18. Saw a couple pics of it in the latest Car & Driver and on Autoblog today.the interior looked very nice, very classy and Buick-like..not the usual cheap gray pit of despair one usually finds in a subcompact.
  19. '68-69 Riviera...they seem to be overlooked as preferences run towards the cleaner '66-67, but I like the '68-69 also...less so, though w/ the '70, or the '68-70 Toros..those had oversized front bumper/grilles that weren't as clean as the '66-67.. I've always liked the styling of '77-79 and '80-85 B- and C- body coupes...though the Bonnevilles would have looked better w/o the frumpy fender skirts, IMO. Kind of overshadowed by the '78-87 A/G- body coupes..
  20. As part 1 of my vacation this week, I was in N. California for 4 days driving a rental '12 Cadillac CTS 3.0. I thoroughly enjoyed it in a variety of driving situations--Bay Area freeway traffic, beautiful winding Sonoma and Napa county country roads, driving around town in Sonoma and Napa, etc. My only previous CTS driving experience was a couple short local trips in a black 3.6 a couple of months ago. All in all, it drove quite nicely...this appeared to be a base model w/ small wheels and standard suspension, but the road feel, steering, etc was excellent. Not too many nit-picks to point out..I couldn't find an aux input jack, and the cup holders seem to be too close together to fit 2 Starbucks venti lattes effectively. The main event of the weekend was going to the Sonoma Indy Car Go Pro Grand Prix at Sonoma (formerly Infineon) Raceway. Cadillac and Cadillac Racing were sponsors of the event, and had many cars on hand...saw a row of about a 1/2 dozen ATSes at the hospitality tent. At the track, they had a display set up w/ a red ATS, 3 metallic black CTS-Vs (one of each bodystyle), and a CTS race car...I sat in the ATS--quite nice...initial impressions--I really like the design and detailing of the exterior and interior. Trunk opening looks small, but the trunk seems spacious inside. They also had plenty of merch, I picked up a nice black Cadillac Racing polo shirt. The rest of the time was very relaxing, doing some wine and cheese tastings at wineries and enjoying dinner in a few of Sonoma and Napa's excellent restaurants. Part 2 of my vacation is a few days in Ohio for Labor Day weekend..will probably have a Malibu or Impala rental..
  21. WTH are you blathering on about? The article was about a cross country drive in an M5 in 2007..it has nothing to do with Cadillac. Are you in the wrong thread?
  22. So Deep So Early in the Morning! A line from Pink Floyd's 'High Hopes'...I'm chillin' out this am, killing time before heading to the airport to start my little vaycay...
  23. 'In a world of magnets and miracles Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary'...
  24. Alas, $35k is about the entry point for anything interesting anymore...under that, and it's FWD appliances by and large.
  25. Epsilon II has some inheirent shortcomings as seen from the Malibu to the XTS--too narrow and both wheelbases are too short..have to wonder what GM was thinking, unless their dimensions were compromised by having to make the SWB platform a global platform.. It will be interesting to see how Malibu sales are in a year or so, after they've had all the variations on sale for a while, esp. compared against the Accord, Altima, Camry and Fusion.
