  1. This evening parked on one block in downtown Scottsdale I saw: A pale yellow early '40s Packard woody wagon, w/ twin side mount covered spares, a cream leather top, wooden roof rack, wide whites. Beautiful. A bright red Mercedes SLS. First I've seen in person. Beautiful. A very clean '77 Olds 88 4dr, dark brown w/ tan top.
  2. Saw a red Pontiac G2---subcompact Excitement!!! Saw a white Honda CR-Z, first one I've seen on the roads. Saw two Chevy Tahoe police trucks parked in downtown Scottsdale w/ 'Policia Federal' graphics...Mexico National Police...WTF?
  3. It sounds like you are setting yourself up w/ unrealistic expectations given what is available in your area at your price point. A bit of advice-- it's better at this point to be pragmatic--put your money into something that is above all else reliable so you can can get to work, and save some money towards your dream car in the future. Otherwise, your drama of wasting money on unreliable money pits is going to continue to repeat ad infinitum. Sorry to hear the Z wasn't what it appeared to be..keep looking, something will turn up..
  4. Other than the headlights and lame rear door handles, I like the design of the Giulietta...I esp. like the proportions and how they avoided the A-pillar window that so many FWD models have been going to... Though I definitely prefer the design of the 159, Brera, and Spyder...I'm wondering--is there going to be next gen Brera and Spyder? Those would be nice to see in the US...would be distinctive and wouldn't overlap w/ any Chrysler models.
  5. bank
  6. Saw a T-bucket hot rod, yellow w/ orange flames...swear the driver was holding his toupee on (breezy afternoon). Saw a very sharp dark red '11 Camaro convertible out driving around w/ the top down...
  7. What I love about it is that it's RWD, has a V8, IRS, and is big and heavy in a world of characterless FWD generics...and has bold, brash yet elegant styling.
  8. You might want to put a bit of effort into getting your facts straight...the '11 body is not the '05-10 body. Similar shape, but no panels in common. And it's probably only 4500lbs or so.
  9. I'm thinking late 80s Toyota Supra. Hard to tell from one tiny pic at an angle...3rd gen Supras were all targas, IIRC..this looks like it has a solid roof..but the doors don't look F-body. Wierd. What kind of mental illness would lead someone to build such an abomination? Hmmm..those do look like Supra wheels...yeah, maybe it is one of these underneath the wierdness...
  10. I'd probably buy a diesel GC over a petrol one. The torque and gas mileage would be great to have, and it's been 20+ years since I've had a diesel.
  11. Socons are against equal marriage rights because of the religion angle, I think.. Anyway, back on topic---higher speed limits where appropriate is a good thing.....one thing I hate about interstates back in Ohio are the darn low speed limits...always find myself going 10 miles over the limit when I leave the Columbus airport..
  12. Weird..what is that..a 3rd gen F-body w/ truck mirrors and GTO-ish nose?
  13. uarWell, the state does have a lot of a social conservatives/right wingers, esp. in the Colorado Springs area and the rural voids of the eastern plains. But as a whole, Colorado is more purple than nearby hard core red states such as Utah, Wyoming, Kansas, AZ, Oklahoma, or Texas..
  14. I've been on the drive from Dallas to El Paso and vice versa...11 hours of nothing.. Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Iowa also need a higher limit for I-80..miles of empty..
  15. I think you mean just the GP then. Interesting...is the GP back seat so bad because the rear interior height is reduced because of the low, slanty roofline? Don't think I've heard similar complaints about the other late Ws (Impala, LaCrosse)..
  16. I could see him working for Google on search algorithms and analytics...
  17. Sharp...good luck w/ it, hope it gives you years of reliable service.
  18. It is Friday...I've got that silly, catchy pop song Friday stuck in my head after watching the video cover of it by Stephen Colbert/Jimmy Fallon/Taylor Hicks. (I wonder how a Slipknot cover of this song would sound?) This is freakin' brilliant, IMO...just a lot of fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLAMhTorPCk
  19. The price is amazing...can kind of look at this as a 390hp V8 RWD full size 2dr coupe w/ a large trunk... for about 10k less than the Challenger.. Of course, it probably weighs 1000-2000lbs more than a V8 Challenger, but the price to hp ratio is great. In a world of $25k FWD 4cyl generics, this is impressive.
  20. Being that the Crown Vic parts are leading the car, I suppose that's more of a Crown Marquis. Yeah...still has the Ford oval in the grille and the Mercury badge on the back..

    Imperial

It's apparenly based off an '80s vintage Opel Senator.. Daewoo Imperial The wiki pic's look like a Ford Fairmont roof in the rear or a Plymouth Caravele, those later models sure look like the Chrysler Imperial & New Yorker padded roofs. Yeah, the wiki pics are of the Royale, which was basically an unchanged Opel Senator...sound like with the Imperial Daewoo went w/ unique sheetmetal..
  22. There is a gold Grand Vic around here...a mid '90s Grand Marquis w/ a late model Crown Vic front end..
  23. I believe he went so far out there as to compare to the SS. I think when Goebbels Beck goes to sleep, he can hear a billion big ol' Nazi boots marching down a hardwood floor. LoL...got the new Rolling Stone in the mail today, skimmed an article about a guy named Alex Jones--even more paranoid than Beck, makes Beck look mellow.. Anyway, back to the thread subject--the math whiz kid is incredible..just hope he takes some time to do normal kid things as he grows up and doesn't end up a mess...

It went back further, but I think earlier ventures were sold only in SK or other Asian markets...they also had a version of the T-car similar to the the I-Mark.
  25. Sweet...I'd like to see it in black w/ black wheels..or dark gray.
