  1. I'm not sure what an electric parking brake is, but I assume they would use a hand brake because it's cheap.
  2. Hmmm..CSI Miami? (Horatio)
  3. I wish GM would take notice also..I'd like to see both Ford and GM get back into the large RWD game...I'd love to see Charger and 300 competitors from Ford and GM.
  4. Sweet...
  5. Saw a '53 (I think) Studebaker ht coupe (dark red w/ white top) on the top of a car hauler today, looked very clean..
  6. Wow..haven't seen rust in a long time...time to break out the primer, bondo, and duct tape.
  7. GMC should do a Canyon Denali and a Savana Denali also. A Topkick Denali would have been great had they still made it.
  8. Saw an '11 Charger in traffic at lunch, first I've seen..very sharp..dark gray. Also saw a white Mini Countryman, first of those I've seen..
  9. The '84-95 E-class coupe has those also, they work well... not the same kind of automatic belt as the crap in the late '80s Escorts, Mazdas, etc.. I missed out on the automatic belt craze..went from cars w/ normal 3 point belts to cars w/ airbags back in the day..
  10. Cool..haven't seen one yet. My sister had an '11 rental last week in Portland, liked it a lot (she had about 1/2 dozen '10 rentals last year in Chicago).
  11. It wasn't meant to be exhaustive..just my thoughts on what the 'boxes' could be... Yes..the categories are the boxes... Today those terms are usually used interchangeably, like conservative/regressive on the other side..
  12. What's HCCI? Not familiar with that FLA. I can't recall the last time I actually looked at my tach.
  13. No, the problems start when ideas morph into agendas. Agendas are the reality context into which ideas fit..kind of hard to have ideas without context. I disagree. Agendas (at least in the way I'm using the word) are when people attempt to morph facts to suit the agenda holder's desired outcome. Some of the agendas I've encountered have little to no basis in reality. That can work also... I was viewing an agenda as a collection of (related) ideas sharing a common theme. Just trying to apply a little object-oriented modeling..my work thoughts intersecting w/ my 'play' thoughts, I guess..
  14. I assume the rear bumper, taillights and tailgate are showcar pieces, not productionized. Though I like the clean tailgate, maybe the release could be integrated into the emblem or the remote.
  15. Cool..haven't had that feeling since I had my M3 and when I drove my Mustang regularly. Most days I'm just itchin' to leave work to go home to sleep or play Farmville, or figure out what's for dinner..

  17. Ideas are great..the problems come with the execution and implementation of those ideas..
  18. Been there. Done that. Twice. Once was a mutual dumping, though.
  19. As far as fitment goes, of course: diesel WAS the Olds 350, and the V8-6-4 WAS the 368, so those 4 engines are only 2. Also on this list was the 4.1L V6. Retro-fitting an STS Northstar system into a E Touring Coupe would be a hoot n a half. Still sharp designs, esp the TCs. There was also the non-V8-6-4 version of the 368 in 1980, and the gas Olds 350 in '79-80. Including the V6 in '81-82, 6 engines..

    Karaoke

I've done some GNR and Bon Jovi at Karaoke years ago...probably my strangest attempts were some classic NWA, Ice Cube, and early Eminem..
  21. It would have to be a northstar from an STS, but I'm not sure the transmission would handle the torque. Ah, yeah..the Eldo of that generation was a north-south FWD, not transverse..that generation had a lot of available engines..diesel, Olds 350, 368, V8-6-4, 4100..
  22. I wonder if anyone has ever transplanted a Northstar into one of these..I've always liked the crisp styling of the '79-85 E-bodies...there is a very clean dark gray Eldo Touring Coupe around that I see once in a while...
  23. Interesting idea..too bad it was never finished. Speaking of performance wagons, I wonder if Ford ever built a SHO wagon as a prototype back in the day..that would have been cool...I guess the '11 equivalent would be a Flex SHO or Explorer SHO..
  24. In life, I've found reality is like Michigan skies...different shades of gray. No absolutes.. things are relative to their context...
  25. TMI...anyway, back to reality, I think I'm going to spend the coin for a really good primo car wash, hand wax, and interior detailing for my Jeep soon..I've been keeping it up mechanically, but not so much w/ the paint (too much bird poo, cats, etc) and interior.
