  1. The Jeep just keeps rolling along..127k now. This weekend, replaced the shocks, serpentine belt, some fluids and bulbs. Going on a little road trip this weekend into next week. I'd like to buy a new car, but not without a garage. Moving out of AZ is my first priority, and that's still a ways off, but in the short term.
  2. The posting volume in the word association and car spotter threads will go up.
  3. Forgot about this..bought about $50 worth of gas about an hour ago...ruh-roh.
  4. Chrysler doesn't have PR people that can tweet for them? They have to hire an outside firm to do it? Weak.
  5. It will. I'd like to add though, that I reserve judgemnt until I see the production version: test cars painted in white and with loads of camo are meant to look not-so-good. Yes, can't tell much from spy shots. I'm looking forward to seeing it in person eventually.
  6. It will be interesting to see how the front and rear edges are--crisp or rounded...the roofline has a rounded arch.
  7. Those are great...what a difference clear color photos make compared to grainy B&W...
  8. I wasn't sure why there are two of each picture, slightly different..I assume that is the 'stereo' aspect? Not familiar w/ this type of photography.
  9. Sad..they have long been down the core brand values to appeal to the masses.
  10. kinder garten ATF
  11. Color 1906 SF earthquake aftermath pics Pretty fascinating, relatively clear and the color is good considering the age. Amazing..I thought the world was black and white back then (j/k)...didn't realize color photography went back that far.
  12. At the speed the video rolls 99% of the viewers won't notice it's not the current Malibu..besides, who watches TV commercials anymore?
  13. Hmmm..don't have this problem with mine, they are fixed masts.
  14. I'd like to see 2dr SUVs make a comeback...I've owned one in the past, but after over 10 years w/ a 4dr SUV for a daily driver, I'll stick w/ 4drs..a 4dr is just more practical and useful--easier to load content in the back seat (people, dogs, groceries, etc). Though I'd consider a 2dr Wrangler for a toy someday..
  15. Saw 3 HHRs between yesterday and today..red regular, orange panel, and purple panel w/ flowershop livery...they certainly are a distinctive looking CUV/wagon/something. More stylish than the kiddie-oriented xB/XD IMO...and most importantly, it's not a Toyota.. The xB, XD and Matrix all seem to me to be different looking answers to the same question--compact 5dr hatchbacks.
  16. Speaking of Mexico, there is a Sprinter-E w/ the V12 made there..wild.
  17. What's funny is I remember seeing Sprinters badged as Mercs (w/ CO plates in CO) at least 6-7 years ago or more, so some owners must have been rebadging them.. but I already knew they were Mercs since I'd seen them in Europe when across the pond..
  18. Same difference, isn't it? Both groups are using vans or trucks for commercial purposes...
  19. Beautiful 65 degree spring day today..great convertible weather. Saw 4 interesting GM convertibles out and about, tops down, 2 factory and 2 well-done aftermarket---a red Solstice GXP, a black XLR-v, a dark red late model Eldorado ETC convertible, and a medium red/tan interior current style DTS convertible (1st one of those I've seen in person)...also a couple classics--a clean, unrestored looking '67 Mustang convertible in white w/ a white top, and a sweet pale yellow '66 Impala convertible.
  20. Forgot about that version..don't see them very often. Been seeing a lot of the Merc ones lately. VW also has a version of the Sprinter in Europe--the Crafter with a unique nose.. One of the local Merc dealers has 8-10 of them in row, all white.
  21. It's also related to the premium branding...since they are now badged as Mercs in the US. Saw a black Merc Sprinter tall roof panel van with chrome wheels and AMG badging..wishful thinking by an owner, I think..
  22. Its a knee-jerk reaction. People are irrational beings. They always come back to their trucks (or large vehicles) after they realize that the gas savings are not worth the compromises. Yeah...some buy inefficient trucks or SUVs when gas is cheap, then scurry around to unload them on tiny FWD cars when gas prices spike, then go back to trucks or SUVs when gas prices subside. Then repeat. It's an expensive cycle, I would think. I've stuck w/ my 18mpg SUV through times of cheap gas, through times of high gas prices. The price variations don't bother me--maybe an extra $10-30 a week to fill up...not a big deal to me, esp. with a paid-off vehicle.
  23. Pretty sure the Ford E-series is or was available w/ a diesel..Power Stroke? Edit: was. Apparently, the 6.0 Power Stroke was dropped for '11.
  24. I wonder if it will be like the new Ford Ranger--a global model that is not for NA.
  25. Cool..will have to look for that one.
