  1. My 4.0L 6 in my Jeep sounds like a diesel at idle. I've enjoyed the exhaust note of my Mustangs in the past, though...driving w/ windows down through tunnels, etc. The best example of this phenomenon I've experienced was listening to a Ferrari F360 Modena going down the street past the LaScala opera house in Milano..the sound of the car bouncing off the stone walls in was incredible...
  2. Verano sounds like it belongs on an Asian CUV....reminds me of Nissan's Murano. Maybe they can continue the upper Midwest theme they started with LaCrosse and build a Eau Claire, Racine, Eden Prairie or Minnetonka..
  3. +1. You would think the solar energy biz would be big out here.
  4. I've thought an E-Class Bluetec CDI w/ 4Matic would be ideal..now if I could get the equivalent of that in a CTS w/ a manual, I'd have found my perfect commuter car.
  5. barrio
  6. I'd like to have a midsize RWD or AWD luxury sedan w/ a diesel that gets over 30mpg. Europeans can get them, we can't. That sucks. Likewise, I'd be interested in a torquey diesel Camaro or Mustang..
  7. This arms race reminds me of what's been going between MB's AMG, BMW's M, and Audi's RS models this decade--the race to build increasingly expensive and fast 400+hp, 500+ hp 4000+lb RWD/AWD sedans and coupes...where will it go from here? Is this era a high point for performance cars that will never been seen again at this level of power and weight? Fascinating times... I remember when I was young and the top V8 in a Mustang or Camaro had a bit over 200 hp, and they cost under $20k and weighed about 3500lbs! Rob
  8. Probably won't be until MY 2014-2015 until the next new Mustang..it was just heavily restyled inside and out for '10, new engines coming for '11.
  9. Haven't seen this on Autoblog, InsideLine, Autoweek, WindingRoad, Car&Driver or Road & Track yet... I guess since nothing official is known they aren't covering it.
  10. Interesting..I much prefer the presentation of the car here vs. the car in T2.
  11. I remember it... thread answer: Zastava (home of the Yugo plant)
  12. Maybe I was thinking of the 1st gen CTS-v..was it manual only?
  13. It's nice to see an automatic not available. In this era of automatics everywhere, the manual only configuration gives it extra seriousness... isn't that the case also w/ the ZR1 and CTS-v?
  14. Sweet...love the wheels in the illustration. The Zed 28 lives!!
  15. Adriatic (the Rubicon River flows into the Adriatic Sea)
  16. I'd get the Boxster over the Cayman, just because in a car like that, I'd want a convertible. I actually fit pretty well in the Boxster.
  17. Crossfire is an interesting car, what with the Chrysler-MB hybrid nature, and the eclectic styling..kind of a love it or hate it thing...I really like the profile of the coupe...long nose, short, curved rear.
  18. Looking forward to driving w/o AC, and occasionally driving w/ the windows down. Hopefully today is the last triple digit day. Going to get a routine oil change and tire rotation Friday, may need the belt and hoses replaced also. Going to have the coolant and transmission fluid checked per the factory schedule. Need rear brakes soon.
  19. +1 I still miss mine..it was a lot of fun while I had it..I unloaded it as it was getting to point where it was going to start being pricey to maintain and I didn't want it sitting outside or sitting too much period. Wouldn't mind having another M3 someday, probably an E46--last of the 6 cylinder M3s. Rob
  20. Modern materials would...look at the '10 Mustang interior--retro touches but w/ modern features (Sync, etc) and very nice materials overall... I've sat in both, and the Camaro interior feels cheap, materials-wise. Too many hard plastics and cheap feeling switchgear...would be ok in an Aveo or Cobalt but not in a $35k car, IMHO. The biggest problem I found w/ the Camaro is the outward visibility...felt like being in a gray bunker trying to peer out. Still want to drive one, though. I love the exterior of the car...the fantastic proportions, the surface detailing of the sides and the upper surfaces...only thing I might have done differently would be a taller windshield and side windows... Rob
  21. I think I would have preferred a thicker C-pillar rather than have the funky quarter window. Looking forward to seeing it in person, though, I think this is a car that will look better in person than in pics. I like the front end quite a bit, but I'd rather see the sedan grille w/ the standup hood ornament...just looks like it's missing something w/o the standup star, IMHO.
  22. Probably the Cruze, Regal and production CTS coupe, maybe the next Aveo/Viva. Probably too early for the ATS--what MY is it due--'12? Maybe the Acacia Denali and a Terrain Denali (seems inevitable)... Perhaps a concept of the Buick Astra-based compact and the small Buick CUV (not the Vue rebadge that was cancelled)? Probably some of these at NAIAS, Chicago or NY instead...
  23. I like the ad...I think my favorite Cadillac ad in recent years is still the one that showed various models from different decades w/ the song featuring Iggy Pop...cool visuals and song.
  24. Lots and lots of factoids here. Production officially ended August '08. Several displacements besides 3.8 for the 90 degree family. Was surprised to see it was offered in the '75-76 LeSabre...it must have looked tiny in the huge engine compartments of a B-body of that era.
