  1. Camry! Camry! Camry!
  2. Meh...just another boring generic... it's amazing how many car buyers want generics, though.
  3. Yawn..more boring generic transportation modules.
  4. Oh well, time to trade the 500 on an Avalon..
  5. True, but Texans elected W governor..so they deserve a lot of blame..
  6. One factoid I discovered is that there is an Isuzu-badged version of the Topkick/Kodak called the H-series.

Meh..I'd rather have an Enclave w/ factory 19s... that would be a bit more coin, but an 81 yr old car wouldn't work for the H-Cube.
  8. I've never had a need for a nav system, I'm quite good at reading maps..even in rental cars in unfamiliar areas, I find my way around. And as amazing as it sounds to the kiddies here, I drove in the '80s in RWD cars in the WINTER with snow tires without airbags or ABS and survived!!!
  9. Hmmm....I bet some of the leaders of this effort will end up in Guantanamo soon. Heh-heh, but seriously, if California would get serious about seccession, I'd move there in a heartbeat.... get away from the red state loonies.
  10. Yes, but Toyotas and Hondas are still just mass-market, mainstream brands. A key aspect of yuppidom is the conspicious consumption of premium branded merchandise...
  11. True, not much different than driving any other midsize SUV...I couldn't drive the H3 because of the ugly exterior and ugly interior... the mileage is no worse than my Grand Cherokee, it sounds like. The Hummer brand has such a 'poser' image, though (compared to other SUV brands).
  12. The i30 is the Hyundai version of the Kia Ceed, from what I've read in the British mags.
  13. Twice this week in my morning commute I've seen a gray 4dr '64 Dodge (Polara?)...pretty sure it's a 64, judging by the grille....strange to see a 40+ yr old car in modern traffic... ..and on the way home tonight, saw a lt. blue early '60s Studebaker Lark 4dr in traffic.
  14. I think 'FOG' has confused 'yuppie' with 'mainstream'..... mainstream car buyers buy Toyota, Nissan, Hondas... Yuppies buy premium brands--Audi, BMW, Lexus, etc.
  15. Slick, slick, slick...love the wheels and the gray paint. I like the hood hole.
  16. Kind of old news...lots of other car makers support Bluetooth now...
  17. Apparently fire bad. In other RL news, I read an article somewhere the other day that said the '08 Accord was slightly larger inside and out than the RL...very disturbing.
  18. The thing that is surprising is that is the first change in standards in 32 years! I wonder what the fleet average for cars produced in 2007 is (if you factor out the trucks and SUVs) compared to 32 years ago? Interesting that the 'work trucks' would be exempt.. I wonder what percentage of those are actually used as commercial vehicles (10%?).
  19. IIRC, my 20 yr old Mustang has one..that's a pretty basic CC feature from decades past.
  20. They need to setup emission standards for cows and equip all new ones with catalytic converters.
  21. Obvious choice...what else was new for '08? The Ford Super Duty was just a hideous restyle and update of the '99 model.
  22. I have a few friends from grad school that I've kept in touch with that are Korean (South)...they don't drive Hyundais and Kias, they drive Toyotas and Hondas like many Americans today.
  23. About the only place I use cruise control is when I'm on a freeway outside of a metro area, with no mountains... an environment in which I'm very rarely in, so I end up using CC only a few times a year at most.
