My Saturn got great highway mileage the one time I took it out on the highway long enough to use a good majority of the gas in the tank. City mileage is what matters, its what most drivers experience.

C&D did a test a couple of years ago and got better than 40mpg in an Echo, they also tested a Jetta TDI, a Prius and a Civic hybrid.

One instance doesn't make a trend or a fact, if it did than I could easily say that Toyotas are indeed more reliable than Saturns or Fords since the only money I put into my Solara was for a new timing belt (which did indeed suck, I probably could have milked the original timing belt for a few thousand more miles) while my Saturn had an AC compressor that went suicidal, had seat padding that didn't stay on the seat frame and my Fusion has been through like eleventeen radios, has lights that burn out prematurely and has the most pain-in-the-ass clutch I have ever droven. Oh, and the '93 Accord that I borrowed from my bro-in-law is still going strong with a $h! ton of miles, it got a new clutch a couple of months ago, I dont even recall the mileage but its got to be close to 275k.

Apparently yesterday was national gas boycott day. Apparently people are dumb enough to believe that if nobody bought gas on May 15th then prices would go down significantly. I went off on an acquaintance about this today, as she insisted it would work and I insisted that the laws of supply and demand say it wont happen. Things like this make me hate the internet, just a way for morons to get other morons to believe crap that anyone who has taken Econ 101 would know is false.

A base Eos is like a base Civic, just there for the sake of price. You'll never find one on a lot, and wouldn't buy one if you did find it. The base model is only offered in 3 colors and is fairly stripped. Honestly, I love the looks of the Eos, but wouldn't even bother with either of the two lower end models, the V6 seems like the only worthwhile engine.

It had dealer tags and still had the window sticker in the windshield, so it was either a test drive or a cruise by an emplyee, either way, the people at the dealership should have made sure it was closed properly. And 'blu, I agree, these things are very, very tricky, I'm sure the Eos and C70 will have similar issues over the years.

A new Solara starts at about $28k, a CPO 9-3 convertible for about the same money would have close to 40,000 miles, going by what I just found on a CPO search on Saab's website.

First gen Solara verts are better looking, and fairly reliable. Not that I'm biased or anything.

The Eos is fairly small and expensive, not to mention likely to make the Sebring look reliable.

G6 hardtop, though it may be on the pricey side. Honestly, the Solara isn't a bad vert, far better than the Sebring and far fewer compromises than a Mustang, which has a pretty small trunk and no fold-down rear seats.

Congrats! I kinda know the feeling, I'm officially graduating on Thursday with my Associates (after 2 dropouts and a kid, I'm just glad to get it out of the way) and am slowly working towards my Bachelor's in mass media, then I get to follow that up with law school, which seems like a more employable option that a Master's in media.

I saw a G6 hardtop with the top down in traffic today. Looking at the driver's side, all was fine, it looked pretty good, when I got over in the right turn lane, I got a pretty good look at the passenger side, thats when something caught my eye. There was a huge gap between the fender and the trunk lid right behind the back seat. Not a normal panel gap, a rather large panel gap, one that wasn't there on the driver's side. Basically, This pic: is quite representative of how the driver's side looked, the passenger side had a massive gap (appeared to be almost an inch) in the circled area:

As far as the commercial itself, there is probably soem computer trickery going in. As far as the content, they cant just pull stuff out of nowhere, it has to be validated in some way, thats why many ads have a disclaimer at the bottom saying something about AMCI. The Tundra commercial in question states that the Tundra can pul 10,000 pounds from a dead stop. I'd put my money on them playing with words there, since a 5000lb truck pulling a 5000lb trailer is indeed moving 10,000lbs from a dead stop.
