  1. The Accord hybrid was an interesting experiment because they used the hybrid powerplant for performance, not economy, gains.
  2. Give me the Trax or the Groove with a decent interior and 120hp and we're good. I'll be a good boy and at least wait to try out an Astra before making a move.
  3. I saw one in Amethyst yesterday and still love how it looks in that color. But right now, if I unload the Fusion, its for a Mini, the small size (10 inches shorter than an Aveo 5) and excellent economy and handling have me hooked. Now if Chevy offered a genuine 3-door, shorter wheelbase HHR I would definitely consider it.
  4. Frameless windows are awesome. I probably would have forgotten about the Forester completely if I were making this list.
  5. I'm planning on buying a kayak in the coming weeks, which would necessitate some sort of roof rack or carrying device on any car I own, and I'm pretty sure a Cooper would look hella-awkward with a kayak on top, plus I'm not sure I would be able to get the Mini accessory roof rack on a car equipped with the big-ass sunroof. From just looking at it, my bike carrier will barely fit on the hatch, which would also look odd.
  6. 1,351,893?And they're bonnet stripes, dammit! I can kinda get away with it since my mom lives in England.
  7. Well, I'm proud of myself. I happened by a used car dealership and wound up taking a very serious look at the car I covet, a Mini Cooper. This particular Cooper was an S with the stick, sunroof and the bonnet stripes that I absolutely hate. The very first thing I checked out was the back seat, and there is indeed enough room for a forward facing child seat, which is a good thing. Next was the driver's seat, specifically the driving position, which at first was terrible, I couldn't see anything but the visor when looking straigh ahead, but after adjusting the seat hight I got a good line of sight. Then came the drive, totally amazing, I had forgotten what its like to drive a car that doesn't have the world's most inept, retarded clutch. Basically, I fell in love and was offered a pretty good deal on my trade-in to boot. So did I pull the trigger? Nope. I was able to control myself, to think of the higher purchase price, insurance premiums and maintenance costs of the supercharger, and to consider the black leather and giant sunroof with its opaque shade in the middle of summer. I also really hate those f@#king bonnet stripes, even worse on this particular car since they were the checkered ones, not solid white or black. So there you have it, I was tempted and able to show restraint. Alas, tomorrow is another day, and there is another dealership with a yellow Cooper thats calling my name....

  9. Depends on the car, really. I'd never buy any car in black because its such a hard color to keep looking good. Take the Fusion for example, it looks great in black (and other darker colors) because the chrome stands out more. Looks very bland in white, beige and silver, and I'm one of those strange people who likes cars in refrigerator white.
  10. Its good to see you posting sNOSage, also good to see you've gottten that Chrysler humping bug out of your system, it seems like just a couple of years ago you were all over the pentastar. My sister has a Rendezvous and its a pretty nice ride, twould be better with the 3.6.
  11. poop deck
  12. O face Oh oh oh...You know what I'm talking 'bout...OH!
  13. Luckily what you think doesn't matter since Ford, Chevy, etc dont really care about the opinions of people who cannot afford new cars.
  14. How do you feel about kinda large coupes? 1993 Mark VIII 'Twould at least be something different.
  15. Should have a Modular engine, which aren't Northstar-bad to work on, but like any other FWD V8, it'll be cramped underhood. Cant hurt to take a look, wouldn't be a bad 3rd car/cruiser, although fairly redundant considering what occupied your driveway right now.

  18. Different size-class, but I mostly agree. You can get a pretty good deal on a gently used Magnum, which I've always been a fan of, but its significantly larger and the mpg doesn't match up. The 3.5 is the best comprimise between power and economy, but they dont depreciate as much as the 2.7.
  19. The Maxx is a conundrum, its awesome as a concept, but terribly executed. The reason I mentioned it is price, a CPO Maxx would've been several grand less, likely more reliable, get great mileage and be cheap to ensure. As a car its not great, as transportation, its wonderful.
  20. I found XM to be quite unreliable, both in the hardware and in the broadcasting, so its not something I will ever require in a car. If it comes standard, fine, if not, fine. Just too many problems with antennas and cloudy days for me.
  21. Umm...it was engineered by a German company and Chrysler is now pretty much Canadian so I wouldn't call the Sebring an American machine. I also wouldn't call my Fusion an American machine. And for the money, I would take a 3 year old Accord, 2 year old Malibu Maxx or even my Fusion over the Sebring. And yes, if you can find a base Fusion you can haggle the price down, probably easily on a big sale weekend.
  22. Well...congrats, its good to know you have a sympathetic family.
  23. Its been out for about a year (there was one in the showroom at the Acura dealership when I had to go get some paperwork regarding the Solara) but they do sell slowly. Probably because the MDX is better in every way for a few bucks more per month.
  24. Large enough to stay where people buy what they're peddling, Europe and Japan. Mitsu has a bleak long-term future in the states. If the perpetually shrinking number of dealers doesn't tell you that they're having trouble selling what they've got then you need to re-visit your thought process.
  25. Nobody else thinks the Rampage concept looks even a little bit like the Tundra? Anyways, its a Dodge, so I really wont care until I get a few teeth knocked out and move into a run down trailer.
