Crap!!
Especially in something as large as a Ram Mega Cab, those can be a bitch for experienced drivers, even more for a kid.

I would guess she has a Forester, a Jetta or just about any Saturn you can name.

My First Job...Finally!!!
Best. Song. Ever!Service Merchandise is still around as an internet-only retailer. Surprised the hell out of me when I found that out. I dont think I've seen an actual store since the early 90's.

Airbag light
Given Ford's financial situation I wouldn't be surprised if they used an uninflated mylar "Happy Birthday" balloon that has somehow developed a tear. I'm getting sick of the radio thing, after I get my car back I'm writing Ford one hell of an email about it. At worst I get a form letter, at best they actually do something.

Most midsize rwd sedans?
Looking it up seems like a bit of work right now, but off the top of my head I would guess Toyota or BMW would be at the top.

Life goals
We're officially in the "holiday season" which means the suicide rate is going to go up drastically, so what better time to reminisce about the goals you set for yourself as a child or that you're going to fail to achieve in the future. (That sounded bitter didn't it?) Goals as a child (we'll define "child" as 15 and under because it seems like a nice cutoff) --Become an astronaut --Be a published author --Invade Iceland Sadly those are the only two goals I set for myself that I still remember. Goals as an adult --Be a published author (at least this time I have some completed material) --Get a degree in something (later decided to be journalism) --Be elected to a public office, then resign in disgrace (Its a great way to be remembered, nobody remembers the guys who dont commit crimes in office) --Invade Iceland and Greenland

Airbag light
My Fusion's airbag light came on today. I wont be able to get it into the dealership until Monday at the earliest, anybody have any insight in this? Should I quit driving the car until I can get it looked at ir anything? I figure that the worst case scenario is that the airbag wont deploy in a crash, since I always wear my seatbelt I'm not uber-paranoid.

Oil Sludge
The sludge problem has been in the news for years. I looked long and hard into the issue before I bought my Solara, I couldn't find any cases of a well-maintained car with regular oil and filter changes having sludge issues.

What is your next car purchase?
Uggggg.....the Fusion is pretty small for everything and the Rodeo is dead so we need 2 cars. I dont want to deal with the gas and insurance on an SUV, so my beautiful plan for a Tahoe is out the window. I'd consider a w-body for the right price. I am seriously considering getting an Oldsmobile Silhouette (I found a couple of 2000s with decent equipment and miles) and letting Dawn trade the Fusion in on something she likes. Right now she's driving her '89 Probe that has been sitting in the driveway since she bought the POS Rodeo. I think I'll go test drive a Silhouette tomorrow. Both are white with leather, once has a few more miles than the other.

New GM Key Fob
Remote unlocking is so convenient its almost stupid to hate it. Groceries, dogs, child seats, all things that make manually unlocking a door a pain in the ass. I like the Fusion's setup, it only honks if you hit the button twice, otherwise it just flashes the lights. I also hate the honking, but can see why some people like it, it lets you know for sure that your car is locked and that you didn't accidentally hit the wrong button or something. The new fob is kinda cool, but I would still prefer the DIC in the radio like the Malibu, easier to see and scan through than in the gauges.

Intrigue... 3.5 vs 3.8?
I had a similar quandry this past week. We need another vehicle (the Rodeo died) and I found a 2000 Intrigue for a pretty good price. Only problem was that it has the 3.5 while I would prefer the bulletproof 3.8.

The Game of the Century
Michigan, no question. And I'm starting to get on the Rutgers bandwagon, after what they did to Louisville.

GO VOTE!
Amendment 7 was the one about politicians not being able to keep their pensions if they go to jail, right? I voted yes on that one. I think I voted yes on 6 too, honestly I didn't research 6 and 7 too much. I also didn't know Prop. B was on the ballot until last weekend.-
