  1. New video of the MKR at autoweek http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti.../1057/MICROSITE Check out the roof...mostly glass with the Lincoln star integrated into the design
  2. I-80 between Omaha and Des Moines, I-35 between Ames and Des Moines, I-235 in Des Moines, and US Highway 30, 71, 59, and 20.
  3. LOS ANGELES - Gerald R. Ford, who picked up the pieces of Richard Nixon’s scandal-shattered White House as the 38th and only unelected president in America’s history, has died, his wife, Betty, said Tuesday. He was 93. “My family joins me in sharing the difficult news that Gerald Ford, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather has passed away at 93 years of age,” Mrs. Ford said in a brief statement issued from her husband’s office in Rancho Mirage. “His life was filled with love of God, his family and his country.” The statement did not say where Ford died or list a cause of death. Ford had battled pneumonia in January 2006 and underwent two heart treatments — including an angioplasty — in August at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. He was the longest living president, followed by Ronald Reagan, who also died at 93. Ford had been living at his desert home in Rancho Mirage, Calif., about 130 miles east of Los Angeles.
  4. Merry Christmas to all...the architects here will get a kick out of this one Another good one
  5. I got most of mine done in early December, so I haven't had to deal with the crowds. With my family, we almost always know exactly what we're getting...there's no surprise factor in it anymore. In fact, this year I just asked my sister straight up what she wanted, and she pointed to a CD and I bought it. It takes the surprise out of it, but they're always happy with what you got them and you don't spend all this time trying to look for a gift they'll like. Every once in a while they'll throw me a curve ball and get something I wasn't expecting at all, but it's usually little stocking stuffer type things.
  6. I don't actually live in Des Moines yet, but the place I interned at last summer is there and I came back to work for them this week since it's Christmas break. Unfortunately, the place I stayed at had no internet, but I managed to sneak in a couple visits to C&G at work....I just couldn't stay away!
  7. Sorry, just got your post...I've been in Des Moines without internet for the past week. Don't know anything about it, I just found a picture of it on the 'net and swiped it for my sig....it's about as perfect as they come for modded 'Bus from the late 70s/early 80s. It says so much without saying anything at all. No gaudy add-ons and other crap...just clean, timeless touches.
  8. You can tell by the interior that it's from the 60s...it has that stark and dark interior styling that was a departure from the chromed and colorful interiors of the 50s.
  9. 1993 Mustang Cobra...you can get 'em in good shape for about $10-12K, and they are getting rare.
  10. I read something on this once...the part about 140 mph and driving a Ferrari is bull. Someone actually traced the route the filmmaker drove through Paris to find the total distance and calculated the average speed at about 45 mph (and top speed about 80 mph on the straightaway). The reason it looks like he's going so fast is that the camera was placed low to the ground, and the real kicker...the car that was being driven wasn't a Ferrari, but rather an old Mercedes with clips recorded from a Ferrari engine placed overtop during production of the film.
  11. He's too heavy metal for Journey. I have some of the Steel Dragon songs he sang on...he doesn't sound anything remotely close to Steve Perry. In the long history of singers quitting and being replaced, about the only one that has worked ok is Sammy Hagar with Van Halen. Pretty much all others have failed.

  13. What do you expect when you look like this? I'm not having high hopes of this album coming out before 2015.
  14. Thank you. I love those Malibus.
  15. OK, many of us saw ASIMO fall on his head today, but for a $170K robot it's pretty amazing to see how fluid his motion is. HOWEVER, check out this little guy... the Sony QRIO...he can throw balls, rollerskate, pick himself up after being pushed over, and probably even walk correctly up stairs. This robot makes ASIMO look mentally handicapped. (wait for the very end)japanese fan dance
  16. Don't forget the Chrysler Chronos...what a beauty What a great car. The styling is exactly what I think of when I think of Chrysler.
  17. I don't think I've heard it. The version I have is the one off The Singles 86-98.
  18. I think this calls for one of these
  19. I actually laughed out loud for that one!
  20. And the house of cards begins to tumble.
  21. Chrysler did a good job designing the LX cars, the Pacifica, and the Crossfire, but everything since then has been progressively getting worse. The PT was like they stuck it in a microwave and warmed it up a little (leftovers that don't taste as good as when it was fresh), Jeep is a mess, Sebring/Avenger disaster, the ho-hum Aspen, the ugly Imperial concept...the Caliber is ok to me though. About the only bright spot is that Chrysler Nassau sketch...but knowing how they botched the beautiful Airflite into the horrid Sebring, I'm sure the production Nassau will have about the same good looks and charm of a Christmas fruitcake. The designers at Chrysler must be on crack...that's the only explanation I have.
  22. Wow Knightfan, you sure keep some low miles on your Montes. I've had the '94 Lumina since July '03, so almost going on 3 years and 5 months. My old 1990 Lumina was bought in 1992...my mom drove it for about 2 years, then my dad until I turned 15, then me, then my sister...we sold it in 2005 when my sister got the Monte Carlo, so 13 years for that one. My dad has owned his 1968 Corvette since 1976 and his 1978 Corvette since the early 80s, so almost 30 years for both.
  23. I liked the R/T concept a lot better. Maybe it was the photo angles they used for the concept, but something about this one out in real world conditions just looks blocky and not nearly as handsome. Maybe it's just the lower trim...I dunno.
  24. Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence
