  1. FoG makes a good point... back in 1974 all seemed lost but here we are three decades later & we have managed to produce some fine products with awsome V8 power & relatively good size. I just hope we don't have ANOTHER 1974 B.S. scenario & have to build more Vegas & Pintos figuretively speaking to satisfy the fanatics.
  2. I love this kind of stuff. The other day while fuc*ing off and browsing the forums I watched a 2hour special on Stephen Hawkins and all of his opponents who are trying to prove that his 1960s theory of information paradox is false or erroneous.
  3. I hear R2D2 toured with ZZ Top for a while.
  4. College has nothing to do w/ it. Even if you didn't graduate High School it stands to reason that the day BEFORE & AFTER is when all that "lost" profit is made up for. People's cars will not run on hopes & dreams. I got the same lame a$$ed mass email too from some ex-girlfriend.
  5. Item 1: This is the name given to Bobby Allison's NASCAR 1972 Monte Carlo. Donk? Box? Bubble? Item 2: This generation was the only one to offer a V8 engine in the SS model ONLY. 4th, def. the 4th. "WHEEL OF FORTUNE" ROUND Item 3: According to dealer brochures, this feature of the 2nd generation (1973-1977) MCs, "made simple use of complimentary exterior colors". landau bodystyle _ A S _ _ O N - _ O N E S _ _ _ _ N _ Item 4: A commercial introducing the 5th generation Monte Carlo included these lines: _ _ _ _ E _ E A _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ - R O _ N D E D _ _ N E S O _ _ _ E A _ _ - N E _ M O N _ E C A R _ O S E E M S O R _ O _ _ A M _ _ _ A R, _ _ E _ S _ O _ _ D. VISUAL MULTIPLE CHOICE ROUND Item 5: In this interior shot, what would be different on the dashboard if this had been a 1980 Monte Carlo? http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/newpics/DSC07654r8_jpg.html c ... The dashboard would have a woodgrain accent strip across the dashboard. Item 6: In this exterior shot, excluding the license plate, how can one determine that this is a 1981 Monte Carlo SC and not an SC from 1982-1986? http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/newpics/DSC07692r8_jpg.html b ... The MC emblem is not in the grill.
  6. I just want an affordable (pillarless) hardtop for Marcia with a cheap, basic no-frills V8. Make it a 4.0 LS-based pushrod with "only" 240 hp for all I care.... I'd rather have a baby V8 and enjoy the smooth luxury of a V8 than some powerhouse of a V6 that sucks down JUST as much fuel & compromises on the smooth idle & DOD capabilities of an eight. In a perfect world I'd have an Atlas I6 powered Camaro and would not long for a V8. V8 > V6 BUT I6 > V6
  7. Here's another good one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1e0EQlQXoEo...ted&search= Damn Sheryl Crow looks hot in this one!!!
  8. This has to be at least the fourth timje this video has been posted here, and yet I still watched it TWICE just now. It's by far the most emotionally charged music video EVER & as IIRC Trent was so blown away by it he said Cash did the song more justice than he ever did. Either way I agree. Something about that video stirrs my soul. It makes me feel like finding spirituality & becoming a better person for the sake of whatever "legacy" I will leave behind. I wish I had gotten to see/hear Johnny Cash in person at some point in my life but it's too late now.
  9. I agree with every word of that. But I hope to God that we are not that far from the concept of a FREE country. The USA I fell in love with in 1987 is no the same place we live in today.
  10. Sorry to steal you thunder GM4LIFE. If it had not been for your thread I might not have ever got around to posting my story and having it published. I saw the page a few times but did not think I could actually get on there. I mean I loved every Cadillac I've had & most of the ones I've driven but let's face it, none of them have been in the same category as a wood-carved Hearse, V16 roadster or even a 1959 sedan deVille. http://www.mycadillacstory.com/ You can't miss it... I'm right after the video of the 1973 Eldorado pace car & the dude from Las Vegas with the baby blue Fleetwood on 13"s. XP will laugh his a$$ off no doubt... Here's an imageshack version for those who have trouble with the link. One photo of Big Red & TWO photos of my 1986 Fleetwood Brougham. Loved that old tank. They didn't include the photo of Sofia on the hood of Big Red w/ the live Christmas Wreath, probably something to do with the internet & kids' safety, to be honest that might be a good thing. But for the one or two on here who have not sen it, here it is... like I said in my Cadillac Story this was our Christmas card in 2005.
  11. Balthy: From what I've seen (photos on the net) and heard from people who have been there it is a great eclectic mix of cars from ALL decades, have no fear, if you go you will not be stuck staring at a bunch of 1970s B-bodys and 1980s F-bodys like you're afraid of... I too get tired of that crap. Never mind the never ending flood of 5.0 Mustangs & (worse still) 1990s 4.6 liter Stangs with cheesy rims and faux-super-scoop hoods. Although I'm sure there will be more than enough 1960s Muscle cars and Tri-five Chebbys. I wish there were more Buicks, Cadillacs & Pontiacs and dare I say LaSalle out at shows. So many do not think for themselves but instead just jump on the bandwagon & restore ANOTHER 1957 Bel Air clone or 1970 Chevelle.
  12. Anyone ever hear of a Mirage Monza? It was a first for me. 76 Trucker: Oh yeah... I say ou do it. I'll show you the TIGHT WHIPS collection and you can check out our coveted Tight Whips Museum, which contains such items as a smushed 1968 Camaro fender, blown up rear end pumpkin that looks like a shotgun was used, air cleaner off of 350 Rocket from a 1977 Cutlass Supreme.... sedan and also a 1996 Stang Cobra fender that was used to paint a tree. As far as the classic cars up here, I'll have to step it up a bit. You ain't seen NOTHIN' yet!
  13. Another bizzare sighting: same driveway: Seen on the Lowell Connector, more than a few RWD, BOF American cars were in the mix. And one more of the 1969 Cadillac Miller Meteor End-loader Hearse:
  14. God damn I want that Apachee! Now THAT'S patina right there. Here's a few more I managed to photograph, the two cars I did not manage to capture on my digital was a 1968/9 Corvette in hugger orange & a green 1970/1/2... Here's a few I did manage to photorgaph. At the local AutoZone: XP was nice enough to let Sofia take the Razorback for a spin. Sofia has also gotten into the habit of saying she likes HER yellow Cadillac. Not even three and a half and she's a certified car nut!
  15. Oompa-Lumpa!
  16. Engine covers are a stupid idea, GM or not they all suck. Just another thing about ALL modern cars that pisses me off. I really liked the fact that the 4th gen. F-body's LS1 motor had NO cover. Form follows function. You wanna see a BEAUTIFUL motor? This was the first motor to by STYLED cosmetically by designers. Talk about beautiful, if they put 5% of this effort into modern car's valvecovers & tucked away most of the wires they would not NEED covers.
  17. HOw much NOS was involved? :AH-HA_wink: All joking aside that sucks. The LS1 is still a GREAT motor.
  18. Ahhh-greed. God, if he exists probably hates hypocracy as much as I do.
  19. How do any of us know that the dude did not shut it improperly or that there wasn't a t-shirt stuck in the mechanism or some other such fluke? I've seen stranger things working at dealerships.
  20. Ka-Pow!
  21. To many of us guys some weight is NOT a problem. I would never pass up on a 125ls. girl if her sense of humor, personality & all else was good, BUT if I was given a choice I tend to go the BBW route. Something about curves, I love my wonen with plenty of curves same as I like my race tracks full of dangerous alternating curves & not just one big oval with tall banks where there is only four turns and they're all left. Never generalize. There's plenty of girls out there who have never been abused but suck in bed and vice-versa. I'm not at liberty to get into details for obvious reasons but a little patience goes a LONG way if you're w/ a girl that has abuse in her past.
  22. Hmm.... so can we bring back tailfins now, you know 1960 Chrysler 300F style?
  23. Wow... I have no words for that. Amazing how they rhymed "date" with "fornicate"
  24. I always thought they were neat.... that does not mean I'd rearrange my life just to own one, like I did w/ the B-59 or Super 88 or even my beater Caddy. I did have a fascination with the CRX for a while, but then I actually saw a CRX's intake & emissions hose cluster at the junkyard & it made my freekin' head spin around. Honda in it's infinite wisdom engineered about 17 miles of metal (EGR/evap) pipes that circle around the intake like in an M.C. Escher painting that has been projected through a keleidescope. I have more respect for Fiat than I do for Honda, & that's saying something!
