  1. As long as Toyota's got money to burn, and as long as politicians continue to accept -- hmm, what PC term are they using now to mask "bribes"? -- from such companies as Toyota, then this slide will continue. Additionally, - It looks good for Toyota because they are creating more jobs in the country. - It looks good for the politicians because they are facilitating Toyota's creation of jobs in the country.
  2. Okay, I can see the pics now. Not bad. But the Chrysler Group is doing terrible with the Caliber and the Magnum. Would it really good business sense to release another hatchwagon?
  3. BMW 330i Also, Chevrolet Van G30 (with heavy-duty suspension and axle)
  4. The silver mesh does a lot to help the appearance, as seems to lately be the case with Pontiac grilles.
  5. AC Delco
  6. Oh $#!% Handles on the center console. Brilliant!
  7. WTF?!?!?!?!?!So, now eventhough this car has been praised WELL in advance of its debut, it still automatically doesn't have the goods to compete?!?!?! Will it ever?!?!?!? You forget how distorted the public eye is. The Malibu would literally have to be the Golden Goose to win over many Camry and Accord owners. And even then, they would complain that the feathers don't line up properly and the wingspan is too short.
  8. My wife got a tattoo on the small of her back. Looks good to me. In general, the tattoo would have to be small and subtle, and generally out of view. Female piercings, in my opinion, are acceptable on the ears and on the front torso (in three particular places). Anything else would be a negative distraction. For myself, I have never seriously considered a tattoo, but I've always told myself that if I do get one, it would be a Happy Face on one of my upper arms or shoulders (as a demonstration of my admiration for humor -- though perhaps instead it should be the Comedy theater mask). I would not get any piercings under normal circumstances.
  9. My friend was telling me about real names, such as She-thade ($h!head) and Eb-sid-ee (Abcde). Based on these, he came up with the brilliant idea of naming his first child Kir-stov (Qrstuv). Fortunately for the unborn, there is very little chance of this actually happening.
  10. I think my sister's Diamante has noticeable rattle when closing her doors with the frameless window halfway open. If so, it's the same problem that my father-in-law's 85 Seville has. (For those keeping score, my wife and I gave it to him as a gift about a year ago from my parents' driveway. And I will probably mention this every time I say that it's his car.)
  11. F-22 Raptor! Oh wait, this is supposed to be for cars... Chevrolet Cavalier Z22
  12. You mean the same Monte Carlo and Charger that were forced to move production to Canada because of ridiculous UAW labor costs that Toyota is immune to for some reason? I can see how that might be fair.
  13. Oh boy. Camry stickers!
  14. Only $123 dollars? ...Oh, right. Canadian money.
  15. Chevrolet S-10
  16. Hmm... General Motors Corp. (GM) board member Jerome B. York is still considering the future of the unprofitable Saab premium-car brand within GM, said Bob Lutz, GM's vice president of global product development. On Feb. 13, 2005, GM agreed to pay $2 billion to terminate the five-year-old put option that gave the Italian industrial conglomerate Fiat Group (FIA ) the right to sell Fiat Auto to GM for a fair market price. Come to think of it, GM's doing pretty good with Daewoo so far.
  17. I really like the design, but I would like to see some real-world pictures of the car -- or should I say, Auto Show pictures.
  18. Not bad, but not fantastic. I give it one thing: it will age well.
  19. If they can't meet DOT standards, they won't even make it to market, let alone sell. Also, this is a very, very, very competitive market. Consider the quality of manufacture and design in a Chinese built car compared to the cars already built for the US. In order to make a sale, the Chinese companies will have to price these cars so low that the consumer will be able to decide between "down payment on Chevy Aveo" and "outright buy Chinese SUV".
  20. It's a good looking car. I would consider it for what it is: a budget FWD Charger.
  21. Agreed, but the chart says "Adult HIV Prevalance". I'm guessing that excludes minors.
  22. Note the entire Middle Eastern region has the lowest AIDs rate. Muslim states are not so tolerant of sexual infidelity. Food for thought.
  23. It sure is shiny... But no! I must not allow myself to succumb to the tempting grasp of the Apple empire.
  24. They refreshed it to look like the Charger, but kept the Stratus tail lamps.
  25. Hmm, I thought this was going to be an article about the Securities and Exchange Commission laying down a big fat penalty on some mischievous company for insider trading or some such nonsense.
