  1. Not me. Rattles, buzzes, and breaking pieces have been the order ever larger for my car. However, I'm hooked on how it drives, so I might be stupid and try one more time.
  2. So, then, this sounds like bye-bye GM and Respect.
  3. I must say, VW does have solid, nice feeling cars, but in my own experience, they have a long way to go. From a failed transmission to breaking vent knobs, and the various and random electrical glitches, there is no way they'll be number one in the U.S. at least any time soon.

    Fiat Bravo

Sadly true. If FIAT helps save Chrysler, then I am all for it.
  5. Looks like the volume knob for the black tie radios has migrated.
  6. Well, all of my American cars have served me well. Especially my old Plymouth Breeze. Noisy, slow, slightly rattly yes, but it was efficient, fun to toss about, and never let me down. It was a very handsome and dependable thing. Of course, for American cars that are small and I have driven recently, the Cobalt is the most refined; and the Focus was more fun (pre second update). Second gen Neons really aren't bad cars either, and although they ride a tisch soft for my liking, it was still a blast to drive and eager feeling. Polo versus Fiesta? Well, that would come down to a drive. I like the wilder Fiesta, but the mature Polo is nice to look upon as well. Of course, without a three-door, I'd default Fiesta.
  7. Wow! I find it very intriguing and handsome!
  8. My first car was a Buick, and I have always had a spot for it as a brand in my mind and heart. I love the new LaCrosse and I enjoyed the Lucerne when it came out and still consider it a looker. The one I am most excited about is the new Regal because since it is an Opel Insignia, there is a chance of a manual gearbox!
  9. The dash is funky and I like it! I don't care for the 5-door translation though.
  10. Oh, I certainly hope Chrysler can make this, make it beautiful, and high quality. It'd be the best dream come true ever!
  11. Not the right way to go at all. Shame GM. You will never be taken seriously without a proper and right premium line.
  12. And, what, not word on a coupe yet? I definitely would NOT get one without a coupe, and even then, only if it looked freaking great in comparison. Chrysler dropped the coupe Neon. Then they dropped the Neon and replaced it with the Caliber. They have no two- or three-door cars. And that's what I like. It's partly why I went Euro, but another part of that choice had to do with seats. I still don't like it. The Cruze is poorly named and nasty looking to this viewer. I'll inspect it first hand of course, but the appearance is so off-putting and Asiatastic. To me, it looks un-American in a very "I'm an Asian small sedan" way. The British rags are already saying that all Chevrolets in North America are rebadged Daewoos as it stands right now, never mind this car, the Aveo, and what else is coming. The Spark, right? It has the worst design element present on the Sebring- that nasty black plastic panel by the rear doors and I HATE the way the grille looks, and the seat fabric on the dash. Leather would be nice but not this cloth.
  13. How exciting! This may not sound nearly as cool as the V6 powered cars, but should be more efficient and effervescent! Yay Volkswagen. The quality may not be all that, but the cars drive well, feel great, and they bring us the excitement that others have failed to.
  14. Well well! Badging and taillamps aside, I do believe the exterior of this car could carry the Audi linked-rings. The exterior is dynamic, interesting, and has that special German-serious look to it. I really do enjoy its appearance. I hope the 3-door looks even better and I am certainly glad this is not as boring to look at as the Golf VI. I'm surprised that more wasn't done with the rectangular taillamps of the previously offered car. The interior, however could decidedly not. It looks rather cheap and jarring. The worst aspect in my opinion is the airbag cutline on the passenger side of the dash. It already seems to look dated and lacks the cohesive styling and design I have come to expect of VW/Audi products. Rather like a 1980's rehash. The bloody glovebox door doesn't even lock! Volkswagen has made mention of considering bringing the Polo stateside, and I would gladly drive one and compare it to the North American-spec Ford Fiesta, but that's only if they (Ford or VW) bring their 3-door counterparts over. I'm not much of one for the extra doors since I do not have a need for them, and sliding a seat is better than walking. Period. Like all things, it must be experienced and inspected first hand!
  15. The previous Astra was rather dull looking and appears to have a nasty spartan interior. I don't know because I have never driven one, but I have seen images and read of the lingering stigma of Opel products from the past. Perception is a powerful thing. In Europe (I know) the Astra seems to have an impenetrable range, what with small diesels and petrols all the way up to the VXR/OPC versions, 3- and 5-door hatches, sedan, wagon, AND cabriolet. It may have flaws, but the styling is far more exciting and exotic than the Golf V of same vintage, and the Astra's interior and (in my experience) driving dynamics are in possession of greater tactile quality and overall superiority.
  16. I am shocked GM hasn't ditched frigging Daewoo (GMDAT) already. They seem to be the least useful out of all GM's troubles. For some odd reason, I must say, I loved the way the facelifted Vectra looked, the way the Astra looks (and drives) and so, I must say that I have an affection for Opel I cannot describe or justify. Nor is it neccesarily deserving of me being a fan, but believe me, I'd drive an Opel. Good luck to Opel. Good luck to GM. Good luck to Chrysler. Good luck USA. Good luck VW AG with its Porsche hedgefund.
  17. I completely, utterly agree. I hope my gut is wrong, but something tells me the worst is yet to come.
  18. Well, the interior needed more done to it in my opinion as well and the exterior freshening is a joke as well, but since Pontiac is to cease, I guess it doesn't matter to throw money at a black hole although GM seemed to love doing that with Saturn and Saab. Oh, and FIAT. And HUMMER. I digress. I like the new front bumper cover. It looks more Opel-esque to me. I dislike that the radio no longer has a red display. The G6 was only a stepping stone after the first Epsilon Malibu and a notable improvement from it especially in styling, but little else.
  19. WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE THE MAYOR OF LANSING CALLING THE SHOTS. IT'S ABOUT TIME SOMEONE CAME OUT AND TOLD IT LIKE IT REALLY REALLY IS.
  20. Aside from ongoing concern regarding GM in general, I find it very exciting that Hyundai has the potential, quality, new innovative and, I feel, brave products and desire to topple Toyota.
  21. However, the Malibu would be much nicer to drive, hehe.
  22. And yet Audi keeps advancing and leaving all others behind. Sure, they don't have pillarless coupes, but they have gorgeous styling, innovation, technical genius, quattro, and the best interiors in the industry. I find that the perceived quality of Audi products is at least starting to lap beyond Mercedes-Benz. Even the current A6 is more appealing than this new E-Class.
  23. Pardon me, but what did you require a trunk for? I myself would have gladly taken a PT or HHR over the Yaris. My Golf V's hatch area, though slightly less accomodating than the Astra's, is quite commodious.
