Spy Shots: Mysterious Chevy small car spied testing

chevrolet-aveo-prototype-spy-photos_1_op

Spy shots of a mysterious Chevy small car prototype have surfaced on the web today and everyone seem confused as to what it might be. The five-door hatchback spied undergoing winter testing could be the next-generation Chevy Aveo, though looks very little like the next-gen Chevy Lova – the Chinese version of the Aveo – that we saw in spy shots taken last September. The interior of the prototype, as well, is a big departure from any we've seen in other Chevy small cars, especially the main gauge pod that appears to house a tachometer with a digital display that extends off to the right and likely works as a speedometer. There's also the larger Cruze and smaller Spark to consider, but the mystery car doesn't appear to be related to either of those new bow-tie models. Feel free to guess away in the comments as to what this prototype might be.

Well you can see a Chivvalay crossbar in the grille, and the wheel center caps have bowties. But the headlights are too sober (prolly just dummies though for the prototype) for the hideous, giant monstrosities we've seen on the Spork production model (if they are an indicator.)

Could be the Beat or an Aveo replacement. It kind of reminds me of a Suzuki. What country were these photos taken in? It could be a car just for Eastern Europe or Brazil or other developing nation.

Unless that letter 'D' was photoshopped, the car has German plates. If the plates start with GG, then 99% sure it's from GM.
