I can put that one to bed right now. We have multiple autonomous vehicle companies working here in Pittsburgh. Both Uber and Argo AI have R&D centers here, Google is up to something here with AD, and Carnegie Mellon University was one of the first to get a fully autonomous system functioning. I've ridden with one of the Argo engineers. This picture of an Argo AI Ford Fusion was not taken by me... but it could have been. It is the intersection where my office in downtown is. There is a reason they use exclusively Fusion Hybrids and Volvo XC90 Hybrids... it's not for fuel efficiency. Plug-In Hybrids are the only vehicles with enough electrical reserve to run all of the electronics required for fully autonomous driving. That's why GM went with a self-driving Bolt and not a self-driving Cruze. The autonomous developers want bigger capacity batteries just as much as everyone else.3 points

GM is pretty much dead in Europe after selling off Opel..2 points

There we go again GM fully knew the rules and is now complaining because they couldn’t take advantage of it properly. this is why the Bolt is so underwhelming. GM insisted in doing little for charging infrastructure and now they’re crying. i disagree - for electric cars to ever be competitive automakers must INNOVATE and find a way to NOT rely on incentives for the consumer. i also agree though that the gas tax really needs to be increased and oil subsidies need to die, plus OPEC needs to be embargo’d. do that and every automaker will quit on gas within 1 model year and go all-in on electric.2 points

That Era of Skyalrk convertible is sublimely cool. I love my Denim blue Beetle R type... The kid in me would love to key the dog crap out of that car...2 points

It is rather sad that our President is pursuing a policy that benefits few and hurts a lot of people here and abroad. And all of this is for what exactly? Since when is protectionism good policy? Since when is autarky good? I would say NEVER under any circumstances. Trade wars tend to beget shooting wars, so tread carefully and buy your next car sooner than later. Of course, the Chinese warned any who would listen: May you live in interesting times.2 points

I really like these redline editions that Chevy does. I know there isn't anything groundbreaking here, but the package just pulls everything together and looks great.1 point

There is no loss. Well duh- that's the 1st thru the 1000th reason for Gov't to exist.1 point

Not an issue for Mall Rated CUVs...though it may drag on curbs. It is funny how low so many CUVs are in the front, though. My sister's Trax had a black rubber air dam thingy under the front fascia, she tore that off shortly after getting it, going in and out of the driveway in Phoenix..1 point

Admittedly, the CT6 is growing on me. The canting of the rear taillamps as it is pulling away looks good. It's well suited to be their flagship sedan.1 point

This is so stupid and proves how ignorant Potus 45 is when it comes to the world economy. Sadly, this could hurt Ford more than GM as the negative news will hurt sales of US products and right now I believe Ford outsells GM in Europe. China is another mess all together. So sad that we have such ignorance in DC today.1 point

Well here’s another product planning gaffle. The Chevy gets optional body colour or painted glossy black cladding while the XT4/5 gets toning black plastic cheap looking cladding. i don’t get it, I mean yes the XT4 is entry lux for Caddy, hut in in many ways this Blazer is entry-lux for Chevy. I mean Lincoln does this too, why TF does the Edge get the Titanium elite with body colour cladding while Black Label at the very least does not!?1 point

I am actually glad to see someone else here to express a passionate opinion....other than OCNBLU ragging on ICE vehicles and my endless bashing of FORD MOTOR COMPANY products. To me though this Blazer looks as hot as the current Shelby Mustang almost...1 point

We'll then we will agree to disagree as the grammar did not tell me you were wanting me to think of this in it's own class on rating. Both I think are excellent for their class as luxury and Econo mode. They are both sharp looking CUVs and yet the way I read it made me think you were comparing them against each other look wise. Luxury I think the XT4 nailed it for the Luxury segment Economical, I think the Blazer nails it too for the segment. Against each other, still a tie as they are both good looking auto's.1 point

Unless the styling is spot on to your eyes, I don't see a reason to buy this over a JGC or an Edge. Second thought, I forgot about Ford's old and lame n/a 3.5 as a middle engine next to the GM 3.6. On that end, the Blazer is better but both Jeep and Ford offer more powertrain options, and better ones, IMO.1 point

Saw a few clean vintage GMs whilst out and about yesterday. -A '70 Buick Grand Sport in silver w/ black vinyl top -A black '69 Buick LeSabre 4dr ht w/ Buick road wheels -A white '65 Olds 88 2dr ht -A black '66-67 Corvette convertible -A silver blue '77 Pontiac Grand Prix (different car than the one I saw for sale last month). and on the weird end of the spectrum a blacked out '91-92 Olds Custom Cruiser wagon w/ purple headlights and a padded top w/ the big rear side windows covered. I think I've seen this car around before from a distance. As far as other marques, I saw a sharp white '59 Thunderbird convertible (black top up), and saw a clean dark red '82-84ish Lincoln Continental..think it's the same car I saw a couple months ago.1 point

I hated that front on the new Camaro but it looks pretty good on the crossover.1 point

Today at lunch I ran over to Wendy's for a quick bite and saw that even in their senior years, once an asshole still an asshole BMW driver / parking. For dinner took the wife and daughter to Red Robin. Parked right next to a lovely CT-6 with the TTV6 motor. They are sharp and I noticed others were looking at it.1 point

Only Pantywaist motor is the ICE version. Volt powertrain is solid strong and you know it.1 point

General Motors has 4 facilities in Mexico and 40 in the U.S.. Fort Wayne & Flint are online to build the next Silverado/Sierra, and fully 80% of GM pickups sold in the U.S. are built in the U.S..1 point

Chevy Silverado quad cab, 25% tariff, Dodge Ram 25% tariff, Buick Encore, Chevy Traxx, Chevy Sonic, Chevy Spark 25% tariff. Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ, Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger/Dodge Challenger 25% tariff. None of those are made in the USA. I bet adding $10,000 to the price of the Silverado and Ram will be good for sales. Dealership sells less, they lay off workers. Mercedes C-class, BMW X5, Mercedes GLE: 0% tariff. Honda Accord/Pilot/Ridgeline, Acura TLX, Toyota Camry/Highlander/Sienna no tariff. All those are made in the USA. This tariff garbage only screws the consumer, and will drop auto sales which in turns screws all auto companies. This isn't like 1960 when Americans made cars in America, Japanese made cars in Japan, etc. And if you export tax those BMW and Mercedes going to China, and China taxes them coming in because of a trade war and they sell less in China, then BMW and Mercedes lay off workers in South Carolina and Alabama. Lets kill some more jobs.1 point

Well there you go @regfootball , the sporty GM crossover you were asking for. Me? I kinda like it, and I’m just glad there is the 3.6 liter instead of the 2.0T from the Traverse. Good tie in to Camaro too, I wonder if there is actually any parts sharing there or just in appearance.1 point

Look dude it’s flat out ugly to me. Chevy will probably sell loads of these. But they gotta put the 2.7L turbo four in there to get even with the Edge ST.1 point

We don't pay tariffs to other countries for items exported from the US. The customers in those countries pay the tariff. We pay very few tariffs in this country and the ones we do pay are quite low unless you're trying to buy a truck from Germany...1 point

Totally agree that the trade war is going to mess up existing plans. In some regards things will get better for all, in others, things are going to hit home like a bomb going off. Interesting times we live in, very interesting! ?1 point

Cool, did you see a bunch of badass TDi powered VW Group products? 1962 Imperial coupe, for sale in decent shape, chalky red paint. Would make a nice counterpoint to Balthy's '59 Buford, maybe with a 392 transplant! (SAVE the original 413 or whatever though).1 point
