  1. It is indeed a 5MT 2.5 Golf. Little thing is damn fun in its own right, too!

  2. One born every minute... No, they will be too well financed and the Chinese actually govern themselves like adults, unlike what we see in Washington from both parties. Once the Chinese get their foot in the door they will be here to stay permanently. Managed to convince the rental company to give me a Pacifica for this weekends debate trip. Chrysler did that one right. I wish that Chrysler had stayed an American company and kept bringing out innovative product. They came so damned close. And yet they are so far....

  3. My '94 F-150 (Reg Cab / Long Bed) off-lot base MSRP was $13,154. Had : • Pref Equip Pac ($706) : headliner/insulation package, AM/FM w clock, Argent styled steel rims • 4-spd auto OD ($924) • 3/4 ton springs ($46) • A/C ($806) • rear bumper ($130) As built MSRP : $15,766 plus $600 dest. = $16,366. Had supposed option package savings of $350, so final total sticker was $16,016.My price was $15,148. 15,148 in 2017 dollars is $25,424. Just did a build & price on a '18 Silverado W/T V6, only options a bed mat ($150) and final sticker is $27,195. So that's very comparable ('18 has automatic & A/C standard, plus a bunch of other features the '94 didn't like power locks & cruise, etc). It's the RANGE of pickup prices that has expanded immeasurably. That, plus the buyer demographic that "has to have" all the bells & whistles. The buyer has moved up the scale, too, but it's still possible to find a very affordable truck, just not one very many people would agree to buy.

  4. Ford's slow drip of Ranger information continues as the blue oval announced some key details of the 2.3L EcoBoost four-cylinder. The 2.3L engine isn't as potent as the ones found in the Mustang and Focus RS, but it does provide a healthy 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. It does trail the Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon and Toyota Tacoma's V6 engines in horsepower, but outperforms all in terms of torque. Ford Ranger: 2.3L Turbo-Four - 270 hp, 310 lb-ft Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon: 3.6L V6 - 308 hp, 275 lb-ft Toyota Tacoma: 3.5L V6 - 278 hp, 265 lb-ft Nissan Frontier: 4.0L V6 - 261 hp, 281 lb-ft Ford can also claim best-in-class when it comes to max payload and towing with the Ranger when compared to other V6 competitors. As the 2019 Built Ford Tough Ranger nears production, Ford announces its all-new midsize pickup for North America will deliver best-in-class payload, gas torque and towing capability. “Think of Ranger as the biggest and most capable backpack for your gear,” says Rick Bolt, Ford Ranger chief engineer. “With 1,860 pounds of maximum payload, Ranger can haul nearly a ton of gear to enable your next adventure.” The 2019 Ford Ranger’s standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost® produces 270 horsepower and, more importantly, 310 lb.-ft. of torque – the most engine-turning power of any gas engine in the midsize pickup segment, including V6 engines from competitors. Paired with a class-exclusive 10-speed transmission, Ranger features a unique combination of power and capability that only comes from a truck that’s Built Ford Tough. Anchored by a high-strength steel frame and robust solid rear axle with Hotchkiss suspension, Ranger can conventionally tow more than any gas engine truck in its class – 7,500 pounds when equipped with the tow package and a trailer brake controller. Production begins later this year at Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Michigan.

  5. Aside from the turbo-four engine, the 3.0L Duramax diesel inline-six for the upcoming 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 has us very intrigued. General Motors has been quiet on power figures and fuel economy for this engine since announcing this engine earlier in the year. But thanks to a crafty person who got some photographs off of GM Canada’s dealer site, we now have some figures. The photos were posted by TFL Truck and reveal the diesel engine produces 282 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque - 32 horsepower and 10 pound-feet more than the F-150's 3.0L PowerStroke diesel. GM also claims a highway fuel economy figure of 28 mpg - about two mpg less than the F-150. That 28 mpg figure gives us pause as Canada reports fuel economy figures very different - 'x' liters per 100 kilometers - not miles per gallon. Max towing is rated at 7,800 pounds. We'll see if those numbers pan out when the diesel becomes available sometime later this or early next year. Source: TFL Truck

  7. I'm currently playing GT Sport on PS4, and love it. I've had every GT game since the original, and will always buy every new iteration. I don't have a wheel setup yet, but it is on the agenda.

  8. Cool...the '67-72 'bump side' and '73-79 'dent side' Ford F-series were great looking trucks, have a lot of charm, IMO..

  9. They are a damned nice product. I park near a white one every day at work....it is really a nice truck. Very impressed, and I am pretty jaded from an automotive/truck point of view. That Era of Ford gets nothing but love from me. I have a friend who has an early 70's Camper special. Red and white. He lives in California.....it's rust free and has a 460. He keeps threatening to sell it. If I didn't have a wood shop in my garage, I could see that truck finding a very loving home in Ohio....living a life of luxury under a car cover.

  10. Those are all much better! I cannot stand that 95% of aftermarket wheels on trucks and Wranglers are black with silver machined holes and fake bead locks.

  13. . . . . . . . and you wonder why the Colorado/Canyon and other midsize trucks sell so well.

  15. 2019 Chevrolet Silverado Custom Trail Boss Double Cab, with only two options: 5.3L V8 Spray-in bedliner $42,885 (this pricing is according to the NADA website) I would order mine just like this, it already comes with a good amount of kit... but I would need about $8000 in incentives/discounts. GM Accessories catalog has part numbers for a remote start kit (necessary for me since I would need to park it outside my garage) and a foglight kit, I would have those installed by the dealer at time of sale.

  16. Stevens is awesome tons of open terrain and easy to get up and down from. Nothing like the craziness of getting to the greater tahoe lake area.

  17. They actually do go together when you think of it in the terms of how many IDIOTS are out there driving scared and should have never been given a drivers license. Driving is a privilege earned and for the rest that really do not care about driving, let them have these autonomous auto's, stay in the right lane and out of my way on the left. Anything that reduces the morons camping in the far left lane going 20 under the posted speed limit is a blessing. Especially the stupid slow Prius drivers.
