  1. The only Giulia which is interesting is the Quadrifoglio with its 500 hp TTV6. But anything whose engine is Ferrari derived gets an "F" for reliability and longevity. The "Regular" Giulia is not particularly interesting except perhaps for the excitement in not knowing when it'll leave you on the side of the road.

  2. Cayman has been my fayvert Porch since it came out. Yesterday, my neighbor across the street ran over his wrapped newspaper with his lawn tractor... and blew it all over his newly mowed yard. LOL.

  3. I am not a big Porsche fan, in fact not fan at all, but the new 2020 Cayman GT4 is super cool, looks awesome, finally back to inline 6, manual transmission.

  4. Or you can buy a three year old for 40% the price and hold that for 10 years and spend 60% less on your car. Or, get a car which would have been 1.5 times more than you can afford. The CT6 3.0TT is one of the CTS replacement candidates. The others being the CTS-V, the the E63, the M5 and the RS6 Avant. The CT6 being the most affordable and the SLOWEST of them all. It'll help if there are respectable ANY ECU tuning options, but there aren't. The Blackwing CT6 or the CT5 are not in the running. The former because it is too new; the latter because it is unbearably WEAK SAUCED (and too new).

  5. Most luxury cars depreciate rapidly, especially in the first year. Luxury cars are leased so much more often than bought, which only makes depreciation worse. Great if you buy used or certified pre-owned rather than new

  6. Neither are great for long term resale... but I'd trust a 10 year old GX more in a normal daily use routine. It's one of those vehicles that you can see going to 300k miles and the biggest issue on it is that the leather seats are starting to crack.

  7. Love the Air Stream Pics they have. Thought this was interesting: Sitting amidship is a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat six engine. Porsche says it's "new," and develops 414 horsepower and 309 pound-feet of torque on its way up to an 8,000 rpm redline. This engine sounds like it's a de-tuned derivative of the 911 GT3 enginethat makes 500 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque — it also revs out to a glorious 9,000 rpm in the 911. Cool Flat 6 Engine pic they released.

  8. GX460 starts at $52k X5 starts at $60k Q7 starts at $73k GLE is not in the same class Yes GX is old but is PROVEN to be very reliable and it is PROVEN to be really good off-road unlike its German counterparts (not that many owners take it off road) Q7 and X5 are undoubtedly much better on-road but I would never buy them only lease. GX460 will easily go up to 300k miles. That is the reason I was interested in it. Enough space and comfort and yet, would be able to take it off road or camping. Funny thing, I can buy 2016-2017 CPO X5 for about $35-40k (so it lost at least 40-45% of its value in less than 3 years. And yet comparable in mileage CPO GX460 go for $38-45k I wonder why is that ...

  9. The CT6 has been depreciating rapidly too... even the 3.0TT model. I've been keeping my eyes on them. If only I didn't have the problem with the driveway..... oh well, time for a new (to me) house.

  10. @ccap41 G-wagen is a special case and I think it holds its value relatively well But GLE is a completely different story, cheapest new one around me is $60k and I can buy 2017 CPO for $36-38k. That's almost a 40% loss of value in 2 years.

  11. Literally the only Lexus that wears that grill well is the LC500 IMO. All the rest are visual abominations.

  12. Exactly, for the price you get an over cooked burger from the same type of flat top grill as McDonalds but at a price you pay for The Habit which does actual grill them to order on a real grill and the fries are crunchy fresh, not a soggy greasy mess. Here is your Weekend Challenge Robert! Look on Yelp for the top 3 Burger Joints and then go try them and report back on what you find. BURGERS ?? If Challenge accepted, please take pictures!

  13. I don't think I'd categorize a rusted '50s lump as a 'sports car,' even w/ a Viper powertrain. It's interesting, though.. reminds me of one of the Icon Derelict builds.

  17. What I am surprised by is the retention of the 3.6 (LGX) engine. I would have guessed that Caddy will phase out the 3.6 (LGX) engine in favor of their newly minted and neutered 3.0TT across the board. They BOTH make exactly 335 hp although the neutered 3.0TT makes 400 lb-ft (quite a bit more than the 285 lb-ft managed by the 3.6 Naturally aspirated engine. I can kinda understand with the XT5 and XT6 given GM's lack of a 400 lb-ft transverse automatic transmission. Unless they want to buy Ford's 8-speed 8F57 they are kinda stuck with these sub-300 lb-ft engines. But, this is not an issue with the longitudinal CT6 and will be consistent with the CT5 and CT4 lines -- with the CT6 base engine being the CT5 premium engine.

  18. 2018 Infiniti Q70 sells for that price and cost E-class money new. 2016 CTS's are in the $22-25k range, all luxury sedans depreciate because they aren't crossovers. Let's be honest you could price an S-class, CT6, 7-series or anything else dollar for dollar even with a Toyota RAV4 and the RAV4 would outsell it just because it is a crossover. You give people the choice between a $30k RAV4 and a $30k brand new Rolls Royce and they will buy the RAV4 out of fear that the oil change on a Phantom costs more than on a Toyota.

  19. And proving his trolling tendencies once again while answering not a damn thing. You say “sure do” yet you don’t actually offer said proof. More trolling I guess. Feel free to make another whimsical comment while lying about what you just told me not even a day ago. It’s what children do. Hey ccap, I mean SMK. Pay attention. I never said all things old were reliable. I gave you two perfect examples ones that were though, including the one of which this thread is about. If you’re going to move the damn bar like that, just say so I’m advance. And based on your GX logic why would anyone have paid six figures for a German Jeep that had not changed (for the most part) for three decades? Again, you fail when you single out something you don’t like while ignoring the one you do like. For the record, that ancient GX gets better MPGS than that $125K G-Wagon. Surely the “best or nothing” can do better.

  20. Looks are one thing. Performance is what matters. Most trucks need those cross-drilled rotors as much as a typical Corvette. . . . . very badly. Cadillac could stand to make those rotors standard across the entire line.

  21. Have to disagree with you as I have seen plenty of American, Asian and European cars get their regular maintenance and still not last 100,000 miles. This is not just any Vehicle.

  29. And you don’t think Toyota hasn’t engineered the 4 Runner and the GX in the same way (they are platform mates after all)? Seriously? All I know is this. I’ll take the reliability of those two (especially the 4 Runner) over the G Wagon any day. I see countless ads of those with over 200K miles and still chugging along problem free with a killer resale value to boot. The same cannot be said for the G Wagon no matter how you try to embellish it. There is literally not one car or SUV that can touch the 4 Runner on resale value, and sure as hell not one from Germany. And again, you keep moving the bar with the horsepower argument when your sales argument falls flat. Fact is the Slade outsells all other full size luxury SUVs on its “Chevy frame” which is what I was referring to since YOU brought up sales and old powertrains. Regarding the GLE, all I hear are more excuses that you don’t grant to any other make. It doesn’t even merit a response because it’s the same old crap. Don’t worry SMK. You can always get a smoking deal on a G Wagon that lost half its value in just four years and it only has 30K miles on it.

  32. CASH IS DIRT! Currency is a depreciating asset, especially fiat currency from a country with no qualms about creating more money out of thin air (quantitative easing). Let me put it this way... In 1994, $150,000 will buy you a home in Silicon Valley. 25 year later that same home will cost you $1.5M. As far as homeownership goes, if you held cash you are left with 10% your buying power. Conversely if you held a property, you'll make 10x what you put into it. If you held simply the NASDAQ composite index fund you have 6x the money you put it. If you bought GOLD of all things you will have 4.5x the money you put in. If you bought AMD stock three years ago you'll make 10x return in 3 years. CASH IS DIRT.

  34. In today's world... Where producing horsepower is not a problem anymore. I mean, our automotive engineers have it all figured out and they have a formula and technique to get any horsepower they want out of any configuration and cylinder count that is wanted and needed. So...knowing that our roads are congested, knowing that our roads are crumbling and not safe to drive fast on, knowing that law enforcement is ever so strict in enforcing our very conservative speed limits on our roads and they do this because our populations are growing ever so fast so it does become a very dangerous action if we do speed over the speed limit. Is it really all that important to have high horsepower appliances anymore? Its great on our sports cars...but even them, its for bragging rights because all that power will probably never be used on public roads safely... If the answer is no. Then what horsepower number for our appliance vehicles is appropriate for our roads? Just a question.

  35. LOL... and I don't care the slightest bit for being the 1st owner of anything (well, OK, I'll make an exception for condoms and the like) and I don't care for the new car smell. I only care about getting the most car for my money. Same thing with homes. We don't buy new homes, either.

  36. GM should make it VERY SIMPLE. For each model there should be three trim levels and ZERO options. Basic Loaded Loaded with performance engine That's it. If you don't like the equipment or configuration, the sales guy shows you to a booth where you can CUSTOMIZE a car to be built to order and delivered in 2 weeks for a $1000 customization fee. Because odd ball configurations are rare and not stocked at dealerships. It is not too hard to have a build queue you can fulfill in 2 weeks.

  42. It isn't about trusting a 10 year old GX, it is why would anyone pay $53K or more for a GX that has the same engine it had 10 years ago. On the XT6 thread most of us were saying they need an option powertrain because 310 hp isn't enough. Well the XT6 has 9 more hp than the GX460 and probably beats it by 5 mpg easily. Old isn't reliable. The Dodge Journey is old, that isn't reliable or quality made.
