  1. 2021 goals. I feel blessed: I have a great family, house, job and now a car I have been dreaming about for a very long time. Things are slow at work and I hope we don't have layoffs. My goal for this year is to keep all that and enjoy it. Sometimes it is hard to appreciate what you have but I definitely do appreciate and value what I have.

  2. Totally agree...and have my health and family as well. I’m sadly furloughed from one of my two jobs (my main one) but still hanging at the second while I wait to see what happens. Thankful I worked two jobs to handle this crazy time....also preparing to move on if my main job goes under... In 2021..trying to spend less with politics and Facebook (social media stuff) and more time doing stuff with family and friends, and things that I enjoy... hoping everyone has a great year!

  3. The only good news about K cars being police cars was that almost everything out at that time had low HP...it would be like watching a golf cart race.... ?

  5. I've watched a number of Rich Rebuilds videos on repairing wrecked Teslas, and it is interesting to see how they are put together...his current project is installing an LS in one.

  6. This was interesting, pretty cool, wonder if anyone will actually use a limo like this. Sadly they kept all the cheap plastic inside. Yes, Someone Really Made a Dodge Challenger Limousine With Quad Gullwing Doors (thedrive.com)

  7. Well, if those had the 2.8V6 under the hood, they'd be tough to beat. That 2.8 had 140 HP and as much torque at the very least. Which were very respectable numbers for the mid-1980s. I really do not know what they were used for, but the Montreal police department had many on patrol back in the day. We also had mid-1980s K-Car minivans too. But they were more like paddy wagons thouhg. I cant seem to find those on google. Only the recent ones.

  9. Here is a map of available public chargers in Brooklyn, NYC. Just for the reference the population of Brooklyn in 2018 was 2.6 million people. This is Queens, NYC, population 2.3 million Ironically Manhattan is full of them, but it is the place where the least people own cars to begin with and it is extremely easy to get anywhere in a subway.

  10. Wont happen with either Tesla nor Fisker. It will be a FoMoCo, GM, Toyota, VW that will give the masses an EV that they could afford.

  11. Name: 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Duramax Category: Vehicles Date Added: 2021-01-06 Submitter: balthazar 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Duramax Dealer today said still waiting for order acceptance. States my timing was perfect; GM builds the trucks in runs (proper term: 'allocations') of a particular engine. GM is going to do a run of the 3.0L Duramax next. If I had missed that allocation, it might be 2-3 months longer wait for the next batch. Should get an update in a week or so that order was accepted.

  12. I hate those inflation kits. First of all the foam will be all over the tire and wheel. But most importantly what if you have a sidewall rip, something that can not be fixed with foam (actually happened to my wife recently). Wait for hours for towing? What if you in the middle of nowhere?

  13. Love the classic ubiquitous wrought iron spiral staircases one sees on the exteriors of older apartment buildings in Montreal. Maybe the Montreal police wanted their cops to be celebrities? I don't know. But, from the labeling of it, that looks more like a community affairs liaison type of police car than a squad car that would give chase. With our more globalized society and especially with how diverse Montreal is, Dafuq might just be the name of a foreign exchange student in your city. When I first read it, that's what I immediately thought.

  14. Actually I have a huge number of friends and family members I disagree with. Cool with most of them. But then again, I am not an asshole. Maybe....but should be amazing finished. This is why I am moving to motorcycles probably, much cheaper than cars. With all of the snowflakes here, I need a plow attachment for my Ranger. Plenty on both sides. I can imagine that it was....wish I was restoring a 66 GTO. Unquestionably true.

  15. I wonder if there are any original parts on the restored car? Seems like it was in pretty bad shape..maybe only the vin tag original?

  16. Why are we getting a vintage Oldsmobile downvoted? She's not pretty enough to be Ann Coulter. She's not pretty enough to be Mr. Ed the talking horse Either. I am not just saying this because she is a Republican because I actually find Nikki Haley kind of hot. I really just find her to be an extremely unattractive woman. Exactly what I am doing also. Driving a slow car fast is amazing. I would love to have been around to race MG TC's when they were new.... ...when Newmax is your news source, all things are possible.

  19. Maybe he should just skip the part where people who live with their “auntie” probably cant afford an EV in the first place. It should be noted that public chargers are popping up at various apartment complexes around the country but shhhh, trolls don’t need to know that. It won’t do them any good anyway lol. Trolls being trolls.

  20. Fake News! What Fake news source did you pull this from? Where is the hard GM link on this? I have posted before the GM released news from their site saying the BOLT EUV was to be on the new BEV3 platform and then BOLT would be updated to it also.

  22. Yeah...you got a downvote. For me, there isnt anything else like a GM A-Body from 1968-1972. The Mopar B-Body from roughly the same time period is a very close second. The thing is. I like to reminisce about the past. I dont like living in it. Those cars...and days...are gone. We SHOULD dream about them. But to look "forward" to them? NAH! ITS OK. Id respect YOU a lot more if you had the COHONES to move FORWARD in life. Life aint static... I remember the time YOU downvoted ME for WANTING a CLONE 4-4-2 with a FABRICATED BODYSHELL FROM DYNACORN with Telsa powertrain and batteries... And low and behold...you are EXACTLY in MY position 3 years later after YOU downvoted ME... There is your answer...as to why I downvoted you.

  24. Interesting story on the NHTSA write ups on Tesla and their poor fit n finish. The pictures are amazing as while Tesla has been known for their power trains and battery tech, their suspension along with everything else is very poor quality based on the images and complaints. 26. Yes it does. The kid did an amazing job morphing GM's own dark silhouette teaser photo with the cladded spy shots. So the rendering is pretty darn spot-on, despite David proclaiming "fake news!" I've always defended the Bolt as the friendliest EV on the market, even though it is expensive and does not sell worth a crap. BUT... based on all these accounts, and if it does not offer AWD, the Bolt EUV will not expand on the original Bolt formula enough to warrant its existence. The hope that GM can hit a home run with their EV's in this Brave New World does not get brighter, I'm afraid. And I was going to get myself one, too. Dang it.

  27. ^ Add to that there are commonly a number of restricting factors, such as hours-limitations, brand limitations, inoperable chargers (not uncommon), super slow charging rates... and one's 'number of chargers in area' options drops.

  29. At least they weren't K-cars. In the '80s cop show 'Night Heat' (filmed in Toronto) the detectives drove Reliants...IIRC, there were ones in police lights and livery also. I wonder if the Toronto police actually had them...

  31. 2 door cop cars courtesy of the Montreal po-po department. I betcha that the next police car from Montreal Ill post will blow your minds. (and not in a good way) I had forgotten about them. Dafuq was Montreal thinking when they opted for these?

  36. Spent about an hour hanging with my buddy & another guy in his shop, talking this year's project car goals and comparing our 2 cars ('66 GTO & '59 Invicta). The questions are; who will be done first, and whose car will be quicker. Hard to say at this point. Very therapeutic!!

  40. Miss my office job.....hopefully it will survive the furlough....Cool part is that I did both. The second job on the other hand may require it, due to it being in retail and dealing with the public. If the 1st goes bust, I think I would do a remote job if possible..... I doubt they are down that much, but with all the masks, sanitizers, and distancing-can’t say I am surprised either....

  42. I know technically you’re correct, but realistically; $39,995 before taxes, destination and ANY options isn’t “under $40K”. 5 bucks isn’t swaying anyone.
