This covers the following types of auto's; Propane Natural Gas (CNG) Biodiesel Electric Hybrid Ethanol Flex-Fuel In this guide you will find the following information to help one make an informed buying choice. The guide starts off by covering Fuel Economy, Energy Impact, Smog Scores, Greenhouse gas Emissions just to start. Once you have gone over that information, you then have a section that covers Auto cost and Emissions before buying. the follow up section to this is about Converting auto's to run on alternative fuels. Once you have reviewed this information you start down the line of specific auto types to best understand their use and benefits. You will find after the Propane and CNG auto sections a section covering fueling infrastructure as an important factor.The report then goes into details about Biodiesel, electric auto's and how to read the EPA labels on all the auto's. An important section is how to compare fuel costs before you buy. A perfect example is how cheap electricity is in Seattle where they have plenty of Water generated electricity compared to the Midwest or east coast where you have coal generated electricity or nuclear and much higher costs. Sad that this is what it has come too. Chrysler had such potential and yet Fiat seems to continue their trend of building low quality auto's and are now pushing it out across their full line of auto divisions. Sad!

While I like the style of this car, I find the engines lacking. 540 HP but only 398 lb-ft of torque is an embarrassment. GM has shown the world how to build a decent engine with Torque equal to or close to the HP numbers. Would they have done better to go to a twin turbo V6 then? Turbo charged or supercharged engines have clearly better torque than HP and you get amazing performance. When will the buying world realize they are being cheated out of the true performance by going with these high HP engines and minimal Torque.

For this story, you could watch the videos and dive through the mountain of spreadsheets that consumers reports has for their data, but MSN Auto helped out by focusing on the top 10 least reliable cars and here is their list. The predicted reliability score was 125% below that of the average car. #1 - Scion xB 125% below the average auto #2 - Mercedes-Benz S-Class 127% below average #3 - Infiniti Q50 127% below average #4 - Jeep Grand Cherokee (Diesel) 134% below average #5 - Dodge Dart 140% below average #6 - Chevrolet Cruze 1.4T 143% below average #7 - Nissan Pathfinder 154% below average #8 - Ford Fiesta 162% below average #9 - Jeep Cherokee (4-cyl) 176% below average #10 - Fiat 500L 219% below average The issues seem to be focused on either the power train, suspension such as the active system in the S-Class from Mercedes-Benz or electrical. The one area that no car seemed to really have issues with is the body / paint jobs. So the question to be asked here is as follows: Are we building auto's to complex for our own good? Do we really need all these electronics in an auto? Do we really need all the sophisticated power train variables? Would it be better to focus on a more radical jump in autos by setting a dead line to move away from fossil fuel auto's to EV or Hydrogen? The questions can be endless and I hope this gets you to start thinking about what is important to you. One thing is for sure, some of these auto's will not be on my list for shopping, others would be such as the Cheverolet Cruze which got knocked for drive shaft / axel seals and GM has addressed this according to GM's web site. Interesting, hopefully with young blood will come passion for pushing the design of the auto's from their ultra conservative bland look to something that inspires.

At the rate the group is going, they will totally miss the window for 6 digit EV auto's. I doubt they can get a production site, up and running and have product out in mid 2016. At best we will see this in 2017 or later.
