I have searched and not found any firm dates, but we only have the following shows left: Baltimore 2/8/18 - 2/11/18 I expect nothing here. Dallas 2/14/18-2/18/18 I can see the Sierra being launched here in Texas. GMC product launch makes sense to me. Minneapolis/St.Paul 3/10/18-3/18/18 I expect nothing here. Atlanta 3/21/18-3/25/18 New York 3/30/18 - 4/8/18 I expect Cadillac, might have GMC too. Birmingham 4/12/18 - 4/15/18 Austin 4/20/18 - 4/22/18 Nothing at the last 3 as they have never been release shows.

Jeep News: Jeep Is Still Interested In A Sub-Renegade Crossover
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Jeep
Yea, time to rebuild and modernize the cities and roads, history in the books and stop trying to save every bloody road and building. Europe needs a massive revitalization as their cities stink, roads stink, the best place is Germany for Driving but even then crazy nut jobs want to still also save every freaking old building. Everything has a lifespan and needs to be replaced eventually. Moron nuts in Seattle are trying to get all these old late 1800's warehouse building put on the stupid preservation list to save and they just need to be torn down and built with new modern buildings as well as replace the sucky brick roads we still have in the sodo district. Talk about a nightmare equal to Detroit for pot holes and crappy auto rides. -
I know it is leather but every WHITE Leather interior looks dirty and cheap fast. I have never seen any auto builder have a white leather interior that still looks good only months after use. Just the wrong color in an Auto in my opinion. I have see plenty of interiors that have had those things without the dividing wall. Rolls, Bentley, MB in the S class. I just do not see the needs to isolate people that way with the wall, my opinion on it.

Jeep News: Jeep Is Still Interested In A Sub-Renegade Crossover
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Jeep
Good Luck Jeep, They have lots of work to do to make the crappy Fiat 500 / Panda off road worthy. -
Nice, I can live with a two tone interior, but the wife would hate it as it is not uniform for her OCD approach to life. My only dislike is the White Leather. What morons think White is a smart move? Talk about showing all the dirt fast, high maintenance if you want it to stay looking bright and clean, White interior is just not a smart move for the Lazy Human population. Would be nice to have a Forest Green Leather interior with a warm earth brown. dash and doors. I have come to HATE, Yup HATE these interiors that have wall dividers in the back seat. Can we isolate and separate people any more ? Even in a luxury high end interior, I just do not see the need for that center mass on top of wasted seating space.

I am really surprised that nothing has leaked yet for the New York auto show then it is very early as that show is March 30th to April 8th. So other than Cadillac, I wonder what else GM might show off at that show?

Good questions that I also was wondering about but I have not found a detailed compensation plan for him besides what they released. I thought that for a publicly traded company they had to show the full details of the CEO compensation plan.

Acura News: Acura Announces Return of Type S, New Twin-Turbo V6
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Acura
Interesting, so does this announcement as stated by the CEO mean that Acura is NOT to be considered a mid level luxury but a performance line of products above Honda? Makes one wonder if that means a 3rd name brand that is pure luxury could come out?- 29 replies

Cool, so did they have to drag it out of the garage or where you able to get it to start so you could back it out? Sucks that they put the started in such a stupid place. Reminds me of some old auto's where the oil plug was facing the exhaust pipe and if you let it flow out it would hit and could if hot ignite. Engineers can build some amazing things but also really screw up basic stuff. Thanks for sharing Drew.

OUCH, that will hurt the pocket book to have the dealer fix it or do you have a solid certified mechanic at some other garage?

What Died this time on it?

Must be reliving the years when they were making money and ignoring the auto scene. I do wonder if the cost of the autos now will ever be recovered. Must really love their old iron to pay such crazy prices.

Found this story on Jalopnik and have to say I so totally agree with the crazy auction prices on old muscles cars and custom mods. https://jalopnik.com/stop-paying-so-much-for-silly-cars-1822311324 $770,000 for a 1969 ZL1 Camaro is flat out crazy as is the $127,000+ for a Buick GNX.

Cadillac SuperCruise vs. Tesla Autopilot
G. David Felt replied to balthazar's topic in Industry News
LOL, Driver uses Tesla Autopilot as defense for DUI. http://www.thedrive.com/sheetmetal/17834/dui-suspect-uses-tesla-autopilot-as-a-defense-during-arrest Yes, self driving auto's should make DUI a thing of the past once it becomes standard and on every auto period, but we are not there yet and thinking you can get behind the wheel and set self driving mode is just stupid. -
Tesla Semi starting off with a Bang, Can Tesla Deliver?
G. David Felt replied to G. David Felt's topic in Tesla
Interesting read by an actual trucker about the Tesla. Yes he is excited and believes we will move forward with EV Semi class 8 trucks. But he does have issues with the seating position, big screens and lack of Mirrors. Questions from a real trucker about Tesla Semi story here- 11 replies

Elon Musk Compensation Update Seems the board is holding Elon Musk to a compensation plan that is all stock for hitting deliverables and taking the company to a $650 Billion value. First stock options kick in at $100 Billion and then every $50 Billion after that. He is not being paid cash or any other awards especially with the slip in Tesla 3 production. 12 year vesting period Stock grants only based on achieving milestones Must stay as CEO or serve at Chairman of the board and Chief product officer. Currently no changes in existing roles. Full Story here

Latest on the Tesla Semi, caught in traditional Matte Black with normal dual rear wheel configuration. Nice how quiet it is going through the office park it was caught in.

Great info, nice job. I get the point of cost, but size is the issue that I think a Mini Pickup does over mid or full size for inner city neighborhood ownership where parking is a premium. I just think a Mini size has it's place.

Actually, I had hauled refrigs, washer and dryers and ranges in my Chevy Luv Truck when I had it. Plenty of room for sheetrock or plywood though it sat on top of the wheel wells. Better to have mini trucks for small jobs than to do stupid stuff like I see all the time with cars. Still think there is a market for mini trucks especially in the city. If we did not have all the stupid safety stuff, I am sure they could be built cheap like they were. My 1976 Chevy Luv Series 5 truck was bought new by my dad for $1567 dollars. I got it when I turned 16, restored it like new and then when I went to college in Japan, sold it for $3000 in 1987. I really wish I still had it, talk about an awesome roomy truck that just lasted.

We live in interesting times and the auto world is ripe for a major upheaval. This could come in the form of the new leading luxury makers not being German. I like the idea of an EV XJ. Being that luxury cars are not driven as much as other auto's, this makes total sense and I could see a new top dog luxury maker come out of the change over in the industry from ICE to EV. I really hope Cadillac has something special for the New York Auto Show.
