I agree that a small store will not work, All the luxury dealers around here have huge stores. Lexus just opened up a 3 story Dealership with auto's on the top two floors and service on the bottom floor. Very luxury and nice compared to Cadillac. MB, Audi, BMW, Porche, Bently and the rest of the high end auto's all have big luxury dealerships in Bellevue here also. Cadillac was moved out of the Chevy Dealer but still owned by that dealer into their defunct Hummer building. So you have Cadillac next door to Chevy in a Hummer Building. Just all kinds of wrong!

One I do agree that there are too many dealers. I think Cadillac needs to be stand alone, not part of a huge mega all in one store that sells Chevy, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac. With that said, I do not see a reduction without GM buying out and closing down dealers. Perfect example of this is up north there is a Mega Chevy, Buick, GMC and Cadillac Dealer. One Big building and for the most part they sell 3 product lines really well and have space on the shared floorroom so you have an Escalade next to a suburban or the New ATS next to a LaCross, etc. This sucks, the building is very dated and they have not invested in updating the dealership in probably 20 years. These kinds of dealership need to either invest and separate as stand alone floors or loose a product line. Since this particular dealer does so well with Chevy, Buick and GMC. I say pull the Cadillac line. My stand alone Cadillac dealer I go to is great with service but I wish they would update the 60 year old building. I know some people especially the baby boomers remember when this was a Pontiac, Buick & Cadillac dealership with their large glass showroom floor but now, it is just dated. Yes history is cool, but I am ready for a 21st Century Dealership that is modern.

Be interesting to see how different the two really are and if Acura finally drops the Buck Tooth Grill that I think has hurt their sales along with bland boring conservative style.

Chevrolet News:Like a Boss: Is GM Planning a New Off-Road Pickup?

Proven....how? How many people bought that? Point well made but I have to figure why build it if they lost money. Checking out other news stories, it seems to hit a vibe with people. Very much a love it or hate it look. People like the two supercharged V8 engine choices and others. Why should I be taxed for using my brain on how to get around Idiot City planning of not building the major roads big enough and I know the side streets so I take a short cut to get home or to where I need to go faster. Transit is not efficient and bike riding is not either. Slow and way to long and not something useful during fall, winter or spring. Heck why not charge the bike riders and motorcycle/ scooter riders a fair tax for dedicated roads or covered protected lanes for their use. Why should I a driver who has earned the privilege to drive a car have to pay for bike riders and scooters?

Weird part is that this is the 2nd year for the Reaper according to the Lingefelter web site. I believe they have proven that people want a supercharged off road monster from GM compared to Ford. -

Could this be using some of the bad ass gear from hummer on a very beefed up truck? Would love to have them bring to market either under Chevy or GMC the Hummer HX Concept also. Wonder if GM finally realized they could sell a Truck like the Reaper. 2015 Chevrolet Reaper. -
Seattle Political Hags have allowed the Cascade club to have their way and they took a major lane on all major streets to create all these Bike lanes. With that you only see a handful at best using them and a ton of lost parking spaces. Now parking is a nightmare and you have bike riders thinking they are better than cars and when the lights turn red they break the law by jumping up on the sidewalks to cross and continue to go. Bike riders have double standards and I have come to hate them having been hit a couple times by riders running red lights. If the cities want bike riders, then license them, require road riding courses and have them pay for their own lanes.

Maybe in your town, but in the areas that I would consider to have excellent PT would still have some service running. Even my crappy Public transit just shifts to a Sunday schedule which is fine for most on those days. The greater Seattle area PT is fine and does for holidays go to a Sunday schedule for buses every 30 min. The problem is cross county. Normal work days going from Snohomish County to King County you have 6 buses that run from the north end into Seattle. On holidays they reduce this two 1 main express bus comes on the hour and 2 local stop buses that take hours to cover the normal 20 min express run. It just makes it really hard when you do not work local and must use a bus that goes cross county.

Public Transit is very unusable on holidays that the gov, schools and local cities, control. They just might as well force all business to close down for those days as one wastes hours trying to get around.

Do diesel cars have much of a future?
G. David Felt replied to JulianWilliams's topic in Industry News
Kenworth and Peterbilt Assembly plants in Renton Washington now have dedicated lines producing CNG Semi's. I believe that more cities will push to remove diesels from the road of the inner city streets and require either electric or CNG. Many cities on the west coast have plans to be fully alternative fuel / powertrains by 2018 with no more diesels. I know Buffet is pushing to convert the trains to CNG, Long Haul trucks will be a much slower change. -
Haze is a pretty cool theme, I like it. I did also test Mobil and had to hunt to change it back, it was a bit weird on a computer. Thank Drew.

Bummer, GMC Really needs a good Halo auto and it needs to either be a new updated Syclone or Typhoon!

Michigan Governor Signs Bill Banning Direct Auto Sales
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
I disagree with you Hyper, it makes perfect sense, if an auto company wants to drop the franchises and move to a delivery / repair style of store, then why not have them buy back what will become their own retail chain. They could do this over time state by state and turn all the dealerships into delivery centers with service. This could be a very profitable way for them to drop the required Franchise and have better up to date delivery centers. Yes they would have a select group of auto's on the lot for those that drop in to buy but most people could order up online and then pick up the auto when ready after being built. -
Cadillac News: What Cadillac Has In Store For The Next Few Years
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
I agree with you that Cadillac needs Hybrid series and diesels, but while I have liked the Straight 6 engines, they are not superior to the V class engines. Also with Electric motors getting better and better, the time is coming to move to small form factor engines / generators that work in support of an electric powertrain.- 30 replies

OK SMK you have to clearly state some REAL FACTS TO JUSTIFY a almost $50K dollar car that cannot even cover a single days commute unless you only live in the city. This car is like a Prius Using pure electric mode for 19 miles and then combined electric / gas engine. Sad is they showed this in the S550e and MB even states they are using the same Hybrid system in all 10 of their new hybrid auto's. So their cheap ass Chevy version of a hybrid is the same as their superior S class. So yes the S550e gets a V6 where the C350e gets a 2 liter 4 banger. MBG should have at least made the auto's with a decent battery pack to cover 30-40 miles, then at least you have a proper commute covered for people. To me, MB Hybrid strategy is showing how cheap they are becoming to try and sell in every market everywhere and clearly they have no real technology to compete against what Toyota or GM is doing. I am thinking the German days of technology might be coming to an end especially due to the over paid kill a business unions of that Country.

Great Questions, we do know that auto companies must partner with Chinese companies to produce a certain amount of product in the market and then you have the pirate auto companies that make cheap knock off's of these auto's. Volvo now being Chinese owned is essentially the only luxury car maker I know of in China. I agree with you that it would be interesting to know. Anyone have any solid sales facts on Chinese versus foreign auto company sales and production numbers?

Agree on why is this badged what it is. Bigger question is why with a battery pack that is half the size of the VOLT. Why not give it a better size battery to at least have 40-50 miles on Pure electric? BMW is also doing the same thing, less HP and Torque at this version but the 328e is supposed to get 22 miles per pure charge. Not sure why German thinking is so limited on the Pure Electric range.
