  1. True. But a C300 @ 40K also comes with a turbo 2.0 liter 4 cylinder...with 240 horses.....same as a Fusion 2.0 ecoboost or Malibu 2.0T at much much lower price points... So....by your logic and way of thinking, and how M-B sells its cars really...a C300 really is a mainstream offering....EXACTLY how its predecessor was in Europe... but with a head exploding price tag!!! So....what are we discussing here? Round and round we go but nowhere relevant we end up!!!
  2. Old Regal did not sell because 1. rear room was tight. 2. Verano was introduced with more or less equal rear room space for less money. 3. lack of marketing What is different this time around? 1. rear room is abundant 2. Verano no longer available 3. Its clear as daylight that Buick wants to go upscale. 4. Buick has no problem selling premium priced vehicles. The Lacrosse, Enclave and Envision are successes. Verano and Encore sold quite well when compared to their Chevy counterparts and the Encore compared to its main competition and the Verano compared to the Acura ILX...its main competitor... 5. Speaking of Acura...the Regal GS is almost a clone of the Acura TL SH-AWD and probably its main competitor in 2017 the TLX SH-AWD.... If Acura is premium so is Buick. The only problem I see is the the Regal might do to the Lacrosse what the Verano did to the old Regal and what Acura did...was to eliminate 2 models and make one...hence TLX... Big sedans dont sell so the Lacrosse will definitely take a hit... So....can we at least stop the non-sense posting and start posting LOGICAL THOUGHTS, PLEASE?! P.S. The M-B CLA's interior really lacks premium grade quality let alone full on luxury. Buick's interiors may not be luxury, but they sure are straight up premium in ANY MODEL AT ANY PRICE POINT! Buick is spot on in the premium luxury status arena since the bankruptcy. Phoque off if you say otherwise!!!
  3. Ill do another set. If I was a rich dude in the 1970s, these would be my rides. (Designs that are purely from the 1970s and not styles that originated in the 1960s...) 5 from GM (This Cadillac is an exemption because it did debut in 1968 or 1969...) From MOPAR and FoMoCo 1970 300 Hurst 1971 'Cuda 440 6 PACK 1970 Lincoln Mark III 1970 Torino 429 SCJ Mercury Marauder X-100 429
  4. I mentioned 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD And NOBODY even acknowledged that! Continue talking about Camrys and old Regals and Ford Fusion Sports ....but ya'll be missin' the fact that this here Regal GS is a near 100% clone of a 2009-2014 Acura TL SH-AWD. Minus the hatch opening, a 5-10 HP and torques more, 9 speed auto instead of a 6 speed auto, and quite possibly a tad longer...but its description is spot on for the TL SH-AWD....maybe even the TLX SH-AWD...
  5. http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/a10328974/2018-buick-regal-gs/ Description reads very close to what I drive currently...2012 Acura TL SH-AWD. Id say the Regal GS is just an Acura TL SH-AWD... Not a bad thing...and maybe, just maybe, if a Tesla Model 3 does not pan out for a possible replacement for my 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD in the next 3-4-5 years, maybe this Buick will...
  6. From 1950 Which was based off of this during the War. It was a German Wehrmacht staff car. Which similarly how Jeep went civilian after the War begat this and other variants like the commercial wagon above. Mercedes in Europe, has a loooong history of catering to the masses with all kinds of commercial and blue collar vehicles... What I find stupid with Mercedes is that all those wonderful tough and rugged blue collar stuff and all the war mongering vehicles...they were all engineered by GERMAN folk working for Mercedes and Benz and Daimler... This is an insult to the heritage of the 3 pointed star!!! OH....George Dubbya might have an issue with this shyte being called the 1st true premium pick-up truck And...it was engineered by Henry Ford's people sold by Henry's offspring... Yes....the same Henry Ford that designed this off roader If Henry slapped on some leather on this like how the Duesenbergs did with their cars and the Model T would have that title waaaaaay back when...but Henry wanted to sell to the masses...
  7. Ive yet to see one in the wild. Saw it in the autoshow last winter. I wasnt blown away with it looking at it indoors. Although I did not find it awe inspiring indoors, I did find it to be good looking. A million times better looking than the 7 Series Bimmer (and 5 Series for that matter) but not quite as imposing (in a good way) as the M-B S Class. Although the S Class is not that good looking either. But it is imposing in a positive way it gets a pass from me. The E Class is just as ugly as the 5 and 7 Series Bimmer. The E Class lacks the charisma big brother S Class has. (According to my eyes) The Lincoln Continental also failed to impress me...but it was indoors. I havent seen this one out in the wild either. But, I can say that had the Continental been a tad longer to accentuate long sleek Continentals of yore while keeping that same style, it be hella sexier. The way it is now, it just kinda looks a tad frumpy to me. Back to the CT6...I must say, it does appear to accentuate a long sleek design. The only thing Id change would be in the rear. Id accentuate those blade LED lights back there STATING ITS A CADILLAC GOD DAMMIT!!!
  8. Not my style these things are. I HATE THEM!!! With such burning hatred you cant even begin to understand But...who am I to tell you otherwise that SUVs are gas guzzling pieces of ? If it works for you...more power to you.
  9. 392 Scat Pack or Hellcat 1973 Pontiac Trans An 455SD (this is a 1980 model...dont it look pretty?) Cadillac CTS-V (no CT6 TTV8 yet so this one steps up to the plate!) 1970 Olds 442 W-30 The next 5 2017 Mustang GT350 (without that ridiculous albeit functional rear spoiler...and because I dont track my cars...it aint needed anyway 2007 Mercedes Benz E63 AMG with the naturally aspirated 6.2 liter motor. 2017 BMW M6 GC 1969 Plymouth Road Runner or GTX (440 6 pack or Hemi) Im in the mood for another GM A-Body. This time a Buick. 1970 GSX or the less flashy Stage1...
  10. I also question if there will be a next generation Charger or 300 or even Challenger. I question if Dodge or Chrysler will make it past 2021...never mind the trio of LX cars...
  11. I only believe legit news sources on stuff like this. Internet chit chat stuff...not so much. Im sure our very own William or Drew will sniff it out and report it to us soon enough if this is an issue for FCA and their Pacifica. Like you said, without the drama, this is what I should have stated from the get-go: Im sure our very own William or Drew will sniff it out and report it to us soon enough if this is an issue for FCA and their Pacifica.
  12. Ford, GM, Toyota.... Honda too.... VW? Sure....they also got their fair share of recalls... Subaru about 15-20 years ago got caught fixing defects without the owners knowing that there were defects! Moot point... Although I hate Toyota BECAUSE of the myth of "Toyota flawless reliability". However, certain Toyota motors are indestructible. But certain others, not so much. This whole thing sounds like COMPLETE BULLSHYTE!!! And Chrysler not doing anything about it??? In THIS day and age when Toyota paid a hefty price for unintended acceleration, GM a hefty price for the ignition switch fiasco and VW for polluting from their diesels...WITH AN UPSIDE!!!! NO SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF SALES DUE TO CONSUMERS DISTRUST IN THOSE BRANDS!!! So Chrysler will try to hide this???!!! BULLSHYTE!!! Same derivative answer that I personallynget from a technician that does not know what the problem is... "If it happens again, bring it in right away so we see the codes!!!" Laprincess sounds like an agenda driven poster....kinda like our banned friend Wings...
  13. My sincere reply to this is as follows. Using the paragraph above the pics of the different brand specific motors that GM brands engineered for themselves plus those pics along with the LT4 pics... GM learned a long time ago that nixing the different brands engineering regarding motors saved a lot of money. Sure it alienated many folk that wanted an Olds motor rather than a Chevy one within GM's brand loyalty fanbase...in hindsight all these decades later, I deem it to be a success. I sincerely do think why it took VAG all this time to finally go full throttle with this. Especially when VAG knows better than GM how to manage multiple brands and keep their identity intact! Maybe that is the secret? Keep brand bespoke engines to that brand only???!!! Maybe this was the misstep that GM took that started the tumble? Now it seems Im overthinking things...LOL The last paragraph where I bitchin' about Eurosnobs is where I tread the trolling path...all in the name of fun!
  14. Im just bitchin just for bitchin's sake! A little light trolling if you will! I agree 100% with what you quoted me on!
  15. Hudson Hornet Chopped '49 Mercury In all honesty, much ado about nothing about the bitchin' of 4 door coupes!!! Plus Ill add this one!!! The rake of the back windshield is just as extreme...only difference is that the W-Body is a long car and the designers had a trunk to work with but...cut short the trunk by about 5 inches and you gets the same effect like the Accord looks like...and by cutting the trunk by 5 inches, the GP also gets to be about the same length as that Accord....in other words, extend the back end of the new Accord by about 5 inches and it becomes almost as long as a 1990s W-Body...the Buick Century in 1997 Im willing to bet would be the EXΑCT size with the current Accord length wise.... Its just fast back styling!!! It gives a young vibe to an otherwise old fogey 4 door family car sedan! This is what you folk wanna go back to? Kinda bland and square, doncha think?
  16. Yeah....that is where it starts, dont it? What Im saying is that Ive seen this happen before! Im surprised it took this long actually! From this: We went to this: I wonder if any Euro snobs will have anything bad to say about this blatant badge engineering concept where Audi's engines are not bespoke to Audi... Because Ive witnessed the Chevy engine in a Cadillac negativity shyte many times over. Sure....these people will try to say its a Porsche V8...but these people also tend to ignore the fact that the Chevy engine is in reality a Corvette engine and these people also ignore the fact that the SBC is in fact the best thing since sliced bread. Mopar and FoMoCo fans are really the ONLY people that I will accept them dissing the SBC as FoMoCo has the flathead V8 as a starting point to squash Chevrolet dreams and Mopar has the 440 6 pack and HEMI to SMASH and OBLITERATE any ideas Chevy has for dominance...except that the latest SBC is the GOAT!!!
  17. All cars of EVERY make have teething problems... What you read about in all internet forums are all the whining bullshyte that people bitch about and the internet gives them a voice to be heard. Some of that whining is real, some of it fake and some of it imagined just to stir an emotion or a hidden agenda. My wife's 2013 1.6liter ecoboost Ford Fusion has had 5 or 6 recalls on it to date. Her car was built in June of 2013 and we took deliver of it that December and supposedly the engine fire problems for the 1.6 liter ecoboost were solved by April 2013....but you guessed it...2 months ago I got a letter from Ford telling me that there are still fire hazards with it....something about the coolant may get too low or the pressure circulating the coolant not being sufficient to properly flow not cooling the engine fast enough or something like that and that well last month, I took it in for the recall... OK...like I said...there is like 5-6 or even 7 recalls on her car....all fixed.... If I was a whiny little shyte, like most people in today's society...guess what???!!! Id be bitchin' on a Ford Fusion forum that Fords suck and the Fusion sucks and ALL THAT!!! Reality is that my wife and I are really really satisfied with the Fusion...albeit annoyed with all the phoquing recalls. But the car does perform flawlessly though! And yes, Id buy another Found On Road Dead or Fix Or Repair Daily Ford product again. Take all the internet bitchin' with a grain of salt is what Im sayin!!!! Another anecdote.... Ive read some Google reviews about my very own restaurant... I do have like a 4 or 4.5 star rating with as many as 150 responses and Id say 90% of the responses are of the hell yeah positive side of things.... The little complaints that I do get...well....some people's perceptions are phoqued and we are such a coddled and whiny phoquing society...we can be very whiny bitches!!!! I remember some of those complaints...and um...I aint about to give you a free phoquing meal for life just because we forgot to add ketchup in your burger or we forgot to omit the pickles in it... Its good enough I gave you another burger and let you keep the old one and no I aint gonna apologize and kiss your ass for an honest HUMAN mistake! You could add phoquing ketchup yourself and take the phoquing pickles out with your own phoquing food!!!! Honestly. folk! Stop being so phoquing prissy with your food! Its food! EAT IT!
  18. People forget that the Prowler and the Viper were HAND BUILT!!!! THIS is what they SHOULD be saying instead of seeing it as a negative!!!
  19. I dont know for anybody else, but when a GNΧ or a 1989 Turbo TA qualifies for a thread like this, I will ALWAYS choose them. I used to love a '55 300SL, but in the last 2-3 years, my love has disappeared for it. I appreciate very much where it stands in the history of the automobile and its contributions in the technology department but I just dont lust over it anymore. The Porsche 911 has taken its place for me. Same thing for a MkIV Toyota Supra. I absolutely love this car, but its come to the point where Id rather a 300ZX ΤΤ and a Dodge Stealth/Mitsu 3000 VR4. I guess with the Supra its because too many poseurs of the Fast and Furious crowd line up for it and the shytty 3rd generation Eclipse just because it was in the movie and not enough love is given to the Mitsubishi 3000. In fact the Mitsu 3000 is almost forgotten. Then there is the Playstation crowd that gives a tad too much love to the Lancer in that these people think the first performance Mitsu car is the Lanccer. They dont even know about the 3000...
  20. That is sooooo cool!
  21. If I was gonna be trading in my 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD today, this is what Id be buying in these categories 1. compact car (sedan/hatch/wagon) 2017 Cadillac ATS with either the 2.0T or the 3.6 V6. But realistically, I would NEVER consider this segment nor this car. Segment is too small for my tastes and the ATS is RWD and I wont be doing RWD in Quebec. Sure there is AWD but AWD defeats the purpose of buying a RWD biased car....I might as well just buy a FWD car....yes I own a AWD car....but I bought the Acura TL SH-AWD for the naturally aspirated 300 plus horse V6, not for the AWD. That 300 plus horse 3.7 liter V6 only came with the top dog SH-AWD trim level...plus the car is FWD anyway, I dont lose any sleep over having a heavy AWD system wreck that sweet RWD driving dynamics... 3. mid-size car Ford Fusion Sport Or Buick Regal (especially if a GS is available) 2018 Audi A6 that is not out yet and only if I could get one for $50 000-52 000 CDN and not a dime more 5. large car Buick Lacrosse No CUVs or SUVs for me as I would never ever own one....
  22. Id say @Cubical-aka-Moltar is right on the money!!!
  23. That seems to be voluminous indeed. I like the Cruze hatch. Right size for me? What is that definition? Its basically a car that fits my wife and 2 kids and myself comfortably with room to spare as I WANT to drive big cars. Medium sized muscle cars for my speed demon ways. Circa 1960s and 1970s perfect size for a family car and for my speed demon needs And if I needed to combine the two because of the need for one car either this or this or this Circa 2000s Perfect size for a family car for me with different levels of speed demon shenanigans and family car intentions that only require for me to buy only 1 car. The 2 door would require me to buy another car as it would be a tad difficult to haul stuff in and out of the back seat...in the 1970s, those trunks were huge therefore using the back seat in a 2 door was not really necessary.
