This is sooooo true, and it reminded me of this movie, albeit the time period is of the 1950s.... Cadillac it seems, always attracted the scum of the earth... I agree with you on your whole post and not just the part I quoted you on.

My very own 1999 Oldsmobile Alero. GLS 2 door coupe. OSV concept I wished this car stuck around. (Along with the brand) I totally see the Alero be the Buick Regal we have today. But better!

I love that front end styling. Reminds me of a snake's head for some reason... And a Ford GT... Well...the crease part that separates the top of the car and the lower front air dam. Also, those plastic (carbon fibre probably) "teeth" that are at the sides of the air dam opening. I am NOT saying they are the same. I AM saying it REMINDS me off... Lamborghini maybe on the road to prostitution..whoring out its branding all in the name of volume. It may be necessary to fend off other brands like McLaren getting too popular by offering choices to the people and to better compete with Ferrari's and Porsche's many models! Yes Porsche too, even though same parent owner... ESPECIALLY Porsche. Lambo needs R&D money to stay relevant and if Porsche has 5 models on top of the food chain kicking ass, Lambo needs that too. See General Motors of the 1950s and 1960s. But they better be careful that no brand in that parent becomes like GM of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s...

Dream Garage- Obama Administration Edition
oldshurst442 replied to Frisky Dingo's topic in The Lounge
The last great Pontiac was made and killed in 2009. And unlike the GTO before it and the Chevy SS, this one was sold in Canada! G8 GXP Firehawk At the very least...a Challenger Scatpack...but really, a Go MangO Hellcat 2009 M-B E63 AMG For the looks and mostly for the motor. 2016 Aston Martin DB11 Long in the tooth. But I need an executive sedan. The CT6 that I lust over is not available yet. You know, the one with the V8... TESLA MODEL S P100D....other than the Hellcat...it could replace any other car on my list In fact, Im ready to ditch the Jaaaaaaaag for it. -

As far as pony car powertrains go, Im conflicted.... Like CCAP, I want a Mustang and a Camaro to have TTV6s... I also want them to have 350-400 horsepower Turbo 4 cylinder engines too. And of course...a V8! Plus....eventually, all those to give way to 100% pure electric power. But...I know that what Frisky is suggesting is true. I know that if a TTV6 is offered, kiss the V8 option good-bye. Some millennialz are not loyal to V8 power at all. Some are brought up on Playstation Grand Turismo/Fast and the Furious TTV6 Skylines and Supras. Some millennialz simply dont give a shyte about V8s and view them as old and out dated. Some millennialz have that idea on the internal combustion engine on the whole. Even old fogeys like myself are starting to not give a shyte about a V8 Mustang and a V8 Camaro...if a 350-400 horspower 4 banger exists or a TTV6 with that much power, WTF do I need a 500 V8 horsepower motor for? I am truly conflicted in 2017 regarding this...(one thing I am not confused about and damned sure excited about is an all 100% electric affordable muscle car. A Buick Electra GSX sounds good to me!!!)

When one loses a parent. Its never easy. Mentally. Its hard. To think straight. The emotions are just too strong. You go through the motions of mourning. You go through the motions of burying your parent. Mostly its the people around you pushing you through the steps but everything about the death just becomes a blur. The steps...what I mean by the steps... The crying, the reflecting, the memories...are pushed along when the people around you are going through the same cycles. They are in mourning too. You got to find comfort in that. Just remember that different people mourn in different ways. You have to let them mourn. You will find that your loved one touched many people, some people that maybe you dont really care for...hate even... You got to let those people grieve...its their loss too. You cant deny them that chance. Or for them to make amends either... At my dad's wake, I was a mess. At my moms wake, I was...OK... I was crying, but I was laughing too. I was reminiscing to people the good times I had with my mommy. I celebrated her. Then there are the logical steps one has to go through. The legal mumbo jumbo... The declaration of death. The taxes that one has to prepare for the deceased. The cancelation of driver's lincenses and credit cards and bank accounts and the final and last bill payments to be made...etc. Well, those steps too are pushed along from the people around you...the nurses and doctors, the funeral directors, the better half....With those people too, you got to find comfort with them, they are their to help. Take it. My dad's death in 2006. Its a complete blur to me. Although I saw him disintegrate right in front of my eyes, his ordeal lasted 5 years...colon cancer and then general cancer... he passed away too quickly for me even though I was with him...like a lot...yet his funeral...was a blur to me. My emotions got the best of me. He was the first to pass away on me. I took that real hard. My mom. She really died on me too bloody quickly. She had a mishap, she was fine, got operated...and was fine...then poof, she was gone. Despite that...I was more in control of my emotions. 1 year later though, and I find myself crying over my mom more often than I did for my dad in that same time frame after their respective funerals... But...I do smile a lot when remembering both of them...the good times...they never go away. I miss both of them dearly. But that also means I make sure I spend a shyte load of time with my own kids...and wife. I truly had good times with my mom and dad, I got to make sure I do the same for my kids...and wife...

I never met my father-n-law. He passed away before I met my wife. She was 26 years old when she lost her dad from a heart attack. Like Hyper mentioned. My father-n-law had no life insurances or wills or trusts in place. My wife to be bore the brunt of burying her dad as her other siblings were too consumed with their selfish needs. So she indebted herself financially and took care of her dad's burial and took care of her mom financially too as my mother-n-law was also a stay at home mom.. She got life insurance for herself right away immediately after the funeral was over. Made her mom get one too. When she met me...and it was official that we were to spend our lives together, she made me get life insurance. When my dad passed away, he had life and funeral insurances through Canadair, the company he worked for. He also revised his will 2 years before passing away when he knew his time was coming up. That was a smooth financial transition. When he passed away, my wife and I both made wills, to make sure, knock on wood, something happens to both of us NOW, our kids get taken care of....financially and guidance wise too. When my mom passed away last year, her will was in order, her burial was paid for mostly from the insurances of Canadair that was passed on to her through my dad's employment. Minor things were not covered and was paid for by my mom's estate that I inherited from her. I still had to wait 30 days for her bank account to unfreeze so I could get access to it, even though I always had access to it...I had a joint account with her when my dad passed away. It dont matter, that is how the law works. Its a good thing I had cash in my own bank account...and...this is when credit cards do come in handy... Keep in mind, Im an only child, therefore I had no other siblings fighting me for power of attorney or fighting me for the right to access any bank accounts etc...this is an area that is sensitive. A will and a power of attorney and executor of an estate to be appointed need to be done so there will be no sibling and family bickering. And its legit through the eyes of the law. After my mom passed away, my wife and I have revised our wills again. Allocated proper power of attorneys and monies for our children to better reflect this current situation. 10 years have passed since our wills were done. Although its good to have a will. As time goes by, so do situations in life. Staying current is good too. Next big expense that will be made by my wife and I...probaby next year... We are going to buy and pay for asap, our burial plots, tombstone and funeral parlour, so we dont burden our children with it. Like Hyper said...its part of life...death is... Like I say often. We must embrace it, not run away from it...because it is inescapable...

^^^ Is that a final pic? I mean, the flatbed tow truck in the background is there to take her away? Both sad and happy moments! Sad as you wont be having your Catalina. Happy as a Grand Prix gets to live. GREAT as you are donating the frame and power train for somebody else's dream to come true! From the 2 years Ive been here, Im 100% positive you will be acquiring a Catalina coupe sometime in the future. And I am happy as of now for you when you will get one back!

Holden Will Have Access To More Models From Other GM Brands
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in Heritage Marques
What is wrong with a Corvette based SUV? Trailblazer AWD SS? Its because it dont exist anymore!!! But then again, a Trailblazer was not CUV... A Trailblazer was a midsized real Sports Utility Vehicle capable of real Sports Utility Vehicle kinds of stuff. A small Tracker, was also a real Sport Utility Vehicle capable of real Sport Utility Vehicle kinds of stuff. Making these types of vehicles ripe for any performance oriented pleasures. . Or this guy for that matter... Or this guy... But this guy, just seems sooooo fake to me...CUV/SAV...not good!!! Cadillac needs to attract the faker, wannabes. Minus a few dudes that actually know what the V Series stuff is all about, just like the M stuff from BMW enthusiasts. But now, fake latte swilling wannabes just buy badges. Cadillac needs that type of buyer... Chevrolet's performance cars and trucks on the other hand, are for the REAL car and truck enthusiasts. Over simplified and generalized theory I know. Im not writing a thesis paper for Harvard...sarcasm for laughs is what this is...including and especially the last bolded sentence I wrote in this post... -
Kia News: Kia Stinger Could Boast Hybrid and Electric Powertrains
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in Kia
Id HEMI swap this thing and call it a I do see a flaw with KIA's thinking though. The Stinger is KIA's answer for it to be a budget BMW 4Series Grand Sport, albeit less handly than the Bimmer but more GT cruiser than it as well. Which is fantastic thinking. Where I see the problem is that BMW in the very near future will make its 3/4Series with hybrid electric power. As near of a future as 2018. Me thinks the Stinger should be available with hybrid electric technology as of now. At the very latest...2018... -
Holden Will Have Access To More Models From Other GM Brands
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in Heritage Marques
For the love of...NO! NO PERFORMANCE CUVs...Not for Chevy. Not for GMC. Not even for Cadillac. OK...yes for Cadillac. Unless we are talking about off roading performance. I could see a lifted version of the Trax filling the shoes of a Tracker. If its platform could handle that transformation that is. -
Sedan. 2016 Dodge Charger Hellcat. You could tell this car means business. Coupe. So many to chose from. Ill go with a 4rt gen Trans Am WS6 Convertible. Soooooo many to choose from. I always liked a 1964 Galaxie 500XL convertible's butt. Wagon. Citroen SM 1970 I think. Pick up truck. 1978 Lil Red Express No SUV for me. Not that I tried hard to find one... Wildcard. The F18 Hornet might not be a fighter I like, I think the rear of it is awesome.

Move over Kitty, The Demon is About to Slap your Ass
oldshurst442 replied to oldshurst442's topic in Dodge
It depends for me as well. Fender flares that is. Those Porsches are awesome. I dont know if the Challenger could pull it off though. But those fender flares are needed in housing the bigger rubber the Demon will have... Im more interested in the 200+ lbs reduction and what they did to achieve it. Also...curious about them horsepower figures. -
