Neither the Ram Rebel or Ford Raptor have the chin spoiler/underbelly pan. But all three do in their on-road versions.

Yeah, you can easily cut those and half and they are still very well paying jobs. Pensions. Hate'm..because I don't have one. lol I have to contribute to my own 401k and my company matches but it's my own money put into it. Those listed above making near or above 200k don't even have to contribute 5-10% a year to be able to retire like the rest of us do so it's like a 5-10% raise on top of those numbers. Ps. thanks for the information!

I didn't realize GM still made the 6.0. I just assumed everthing was 5.3, 6.2 or their diesel(when it comes to trucks). Why is the 6.0 still around when they have the 6.2? Or vise versa? If they just detuned the 6.2 they could make it as powerful as this 6.0 or anywhere in the middle. What else still uses the 6.0 that I don't know about?

We get moles every year as well.. Almost never do anything about them unless they are really bad for some reason. I don't know how it is even possible to NOT have term limits. I mean the president has had term limits..for ever? Right? If the 'most sought after' position has a limit and I believe there are limits for a lot of other positions as well without looking up the terms.. I think some are 2,4 and 6 years...but don't quote me.. I also think there should be massive pay cuts from those positions. Not to try and save money or anything like that but because I want the politicians in office because they want to make the US a better place and not because it is a well paying job and all of the benefits. I don't mind a retirement fund like we get from our jobs. I'm assuming theirs is MUCH MUCH easier than ours is though. What is theirs like?

Depends what defines "practicality". For some being practical just means great mileage and interior room isn't necessary. Some just need as much room as possible and still 35mpg highway. Some might need a capable AWD system because they deal with snow almost 6 months out of the year. Looks are completely up to you. Which ones do you think look the least good that you would probably get sick of looking at? That'd be an easy way to get rid of a couple off of the list. I don't know how we allowed these two clowns to get this far.

It's also the only car in its class with a twin turbo V6 and AWD. It WILL weigh the most. Over 4100lbs... still heavy but I don't see it as a massive surprise. Ford has been good at most things until the aluminum F150 at being overweight.
-
None of those are AWD and only one of those has two turbos and is comparable, imo. I know size of vehicle they might be similar but two turbos, plumbing, and an AWD system isn't the lightest thing you can do to a car. None of those cars are even available with AWD in those engines. My Escape's FWD vs AWD weight is 3621lbs and 3769lbs(Ford website for 2.0T) . So there's a big bulk of the additional weight, the AWD system.

Yeah the TheFerrari, 918, and P1 were all on the near-miss list. I could have those three, and X5 M and not even own anything else and be content.. But those are the kind of cars you just don't really drive. They seem so impractical for anything but track use. I completely agree with the TTv6 vs V12 thing. But if anybody ever says "If you could get one car for free, what would it be?" The first two that come to my head are the GT350 because of the 5.2 sounds so glorious and perfect to me and the GT because..it's a GT. Yeah the engine isn't the ideal setup but it's just so beautiful.
-
It makes sense though. That's probably why they never went ahead and used ST/RS/GT or anything like that for it. They kept it a soft daily cruiser with some brawn. 13.7 is pretty good. 101mph sounds like most EcoBoosts...running out of breath on the top end. North of 4100lbs is quite chunky. But I guess a twin turbo V6 with AWD that does happen..
-
Hmmm.. I'm about as undecided as I can be. The first two that come to my mind without any hesitation as the GT and GT350(R). So those two get the list. Ford GT Ford GT350R(I have to have at least ONE manual transmission!!) Mercedes AMG GT Ferrari 488 ..now something to drive every day.. I would have to legitimately drive them to pick one but I think I like the X5 more than the GLE.. I would also like to throw the Rover Sport Supercharged in there as well. But, make it an M car. X5 M to drive daily. I'm still a little torn.. I'm afraid I would have the 488, AMG GT, and GT and just never really drive them. I don't mind having one show car in probably the Ford GT but possibly 3..? I might swap out the 488 OR the AMG GT for a ZL1 or Z06..or ATS-V..or CTS-V.. Man, there are just to make great cars out there!

There's one in the STL area(Brazilian unlimited meat restaurant) but it's way out of my way. The gf and I want to try it some time. A guy I work with said it was great. I've just never been..
-
See now I know you're lying. A great Fiat?????
-
I thought systems like that and solar have really long warranties that should cover whatever happened.
-
Wow that is some great information and a great link! I was trying to find something with information like that link. You nailed it. Thank you!
-
See that's exactly what I told the gf and he response was completely different and I know she has absolutely no background in the topic/situation. And it drives me nuts when I bring it up and she just says that they have a family friend who did the same and their bill "isn't bad". "Isn't bad" is not a dollar amount I can relate to. She claims brick insulates...
-
It's kind of in the middle.. I forgot what it was originally built for but it was a dance studio for awhile when I was younger and the guy repairs furniture out of it now and lives upstairs. Oh a house gutting party would definitely be in order. no doubt about that! food, beer, hammers n sh!t. What could go wrong?!?! hahaha Yeah there is definitely yard to work with. That was also one of my concerns.. how old and inefficient is the HVAC system that will be used to heat/cool this large of a space. Yes, there is exposed brick on the inside and I think most of it is two bricks thick.
-
Great idea. Do I talk to the energy company(s) or is that a city thing..? I want to look into solar panels for it because it has a flat roof and gobs and gobs of space for them. If we could even cover half of the roof and sell back electricity and not pay a dime for electricity and sell some back that would be MONEY. Buuuuuut.. that all costs a lot.. Dumb question but can geothermal be done with the building already in place? I know almost nothing about it but I just assumed it was something that was done prior to the house/building being put in. We don't want much drywall. The exterior walls will be brick. We were quoted 30k for roof/doors/windows/electricity and fixing the brickwork that needs done and any walls we want put up inside(to make rooms because the damn thing is so open). GF's parents know a lot of people from their business and that they've done work with before so we're getting pretty good prices on a lot of the work. Personally, I'm still not 100% on it because its such a large task and I'm afraid things can easily slip out of out budget quickly.

Chevrolet News:Chevrolet Surprises Everyone With 2018 Equinox
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
I want one of those Cruze Hybrid thingys. I would just paint those chrome grille thingies black because chrome sucks. If they depreciate like the last Volt has I would like to be in one next year when the '18's come out for less than 20k.- 45 replies

I have a feeling it won't happen but I think for a package like this they should also throw a more aggressive tune on the 2.8 like Ford did with the 3.5 in the Raptor. Give it that little edge that it would be missing from the standard 2.8. Great little motor and all but a little more balls would be gnarly.
-
Tunes on turbo cars are pretty damn impressive. He thinks by the way the 370 was shifting and sounding it was a manual too, which is pretty neat and one reason he thought he was holding his own to it. You should throw up some pics of the dechroming and new badges. I'm interested to see how they look.
-
In this whole process the gf and I are looking at an old building that is way larger than what we need and I'm worried our gas/electric bills will make it more unaffordable than the building/house itself. We'd be buying it dirt cheap for the size and completely remodeling everything but it's freakin 5000sqft. Is there any way to estimate what that would cost to heat/cool that bastard?
-
I have to believe they respond like the stupid button I have in my Escape.. and it's dog$h!, IMO. It's nice to have..i guess.. But if those paddles respond anything like my Escape then they are just a waste.
-
Where??? I know a couple hours past stl heading south you can run into some mountains and that would be fun but my side of the river.. flat.
-
I think we knew from the get go that it would be in no-man's land. It's the only "performance" oriented mainstream mid size sedan so that alone puts it in company of 1. I do see what you mean in compromised in both sport and "lux" and not the greatest at either. I think that attribute would make it a very enjoyable daily driver(especially when somebody offers a nice tune for it.) . At least here where the roads all suck anyway...
-
Nice, good to hear. I too am about the de-chroming. The buddy I have with the mk6 GTI put a tune on his a few months back and love it. He said from a roll he was side by side with a 370Z up till about 100mph. I don't know much about the Z's but I would have to believe stock for stock they're fairly different.
