  1. ^ do paint jobs like that last though? I can't see a paint job like that lasting too many harsh northern winters which GM would be warrantying against.. OEM quality, while some bash OEM tires and exhausts and such, has gone through A LOT of testing to be as durable as they are and are built to last.
  2. You are joking, right..? There is a break-in period and then there are accumulated miles.. Your Impala is not gaining power/torque as it surpasses 55k miles.. It's just the science of wearing materials and friction.
  3. Those numbers really are shocking across the board. I know the S Class and 7 Series get flack for being bland and boring but I like them. I like how they are just big luxury barges w/ a little hidden performance in a body that nobody would guess could scoot. A sleeper for the 0.1% of the time you want to out run a Camaro SS at a stoplight and a super luxurious pamper-machine the other 99.9% of the time.
  4. Triumph, always a good call! I know some people love the Triumph but their terrible reliability just kills the brand. They seem to be like Harley, living off an image while still producing garbage product. I never had any hiccups on mine. I know that's a small sample size but it was 2 years of ownership. My friend w/ a Daytona 600 hasn't had any reliability problems, just regular maintenance like oil, tires, coolant flush. He's put almsot 20,000 miles on his. Another friend had a little cluster issue where it would flicker when it was really really hot out(also a Daytona 600). I know this is a small sample size but that's about 30-35,000 miles on three bikes and the only real issue was an instrument cluster that would get finicky on HOT days, like 95*+. That is good to hear as I have been out of the cycle scene for a while so glad to hear they are getting better. Well, in all fairness I don't know about "present day" Triumphs as mine was an 06 and both my buddies' were 2004's. But yeah we never had bad luck w/ our. This is also a VERY different style bike to the cruisers.. I wouldn't doubt if they had reliability issues as most European things do tend to be less reliable than Japanese or American(modern Harleys aren't like they used to be where you NEEDED to keep a tool kit on you).
  5. Yeah BMI doesn't put into consideration fat vs muscle. Strictly just a height:weight ratio of some sorts. Which to the newb is great. It will give you a VERY GENERAL guideline of where you stand... Weight lifters or athletes in general completely destroy the whole premise of BMI.

  7. Those are some impressive numbers.. mostly that underrated 320hp one.. lol The 1/4 mile race it self is not relevant but accelerating to 100-110mph I could still see being very relevant. From a stop...? Not so much.. but I think more than anything it just puts a number to something other cars are measured by therefore making it comparable even if it will never actually be raced.
  8. Triumph, always a good call!
  9. I just looked up my BMI(which is just a number, not a %). 26.0. I am considered "overweight" at 5'8" 171lbs. I should probably stop weight lifting and just be a lighter human...* That's exactly why BMI is misleading..
  10. Sometimes I'll eat a can of chick peas for lunch. However, I don't like hummus at all. Good luck. BMI is terrifically misleading. People under guess my weight by 25-35 lbs regularly. I'm 'densely packed'. I could never get to a "normal" weight. Bmi is the worst way to judge how in shape or fit somebody is. Extremely misleading. I also didn't think it was a %. Just a number. Lol
  11. (Love it) Hahaha WTF?!? Was that thing actually produced for some country?? If so, I feel bad that Infinity actually looked down on those people so poorly that they would offer them THIS. "What country do you hate?" "Hmmm... XYZ are all fck heads" "Give them THE Infinity."
  12. Is that charge rate on a 110 outlet or a 220 that needs to be installed in your garage?
  13. Nice review! I think Mazda's sales problem is attributed to a lack of a dealer network compared to those other brands mentioned. I know on my way to a Mazda dealership I probably pass 3 Ford/GM dealers and probably 1-2 Nissan/Toyota dealerships and where the Mazda dealership there are all of the above together anyway.
  14. By mocking the Toyota products you're basically just saying you're biased against them and your argument is useless because it is too opinion based. "better" X Y and Z but nothing about that is factual. I think the only one that is a hands-down winner is the Silverado over the Tundra and that's mostly because of the multitude of variations that the Silverado is available in. You also conveniently skilled over one of their most dominant vehicles in its own market, the Pruis. I'm honestly not saying one is better than the other and at the same time, that is my point. To you, the entire GM lineup crushes the Toyota lineup. To some body else it could be completely flipped. And, with the Cruze being brand new, it should be ahead in most measurable categories. To us, we would rather a conventional auto transmission, to non-enthusiasts, they would likely just prefer the seamless CVT junk that we can't stand. Just playing a little Devil's advocate here, brother.
  15. "better" In what way(s)? That's a subjective thing to say and that alone means they cannot price their cars above the competition. There are just too many variables in a decision making process for spending tens of thousands of dollars on a car that one brand and car will never be "better" across the entire board. It just isn't possible. Okay, it's possible if the competition just decided to give up but that is not realistic.
  16. Or they could just make a superior product and let the product sell itself.. it will be a long road but with a price advantage and a superior product they would own the market, hands down. If the product truly is the best then it is only a matter of time before the own the market, if it isn't then it won't.
  17. Got this from Motor Trend's snapchat over the weekend...because they were there! I thought the pic was pretty awesome to I screenshot-ed it. And w/o the writing on it. Random cool picture from their Snapchat this weekend as well.
  18. Great video. It told me some things to think about that hadn't crossed my mind, like strapping the ramps to the truck. Loading the bike at my house will be super duper easy. I have a very steep driveway that I can back up to and with the tail gate down, practically walk the bike onto the truck without a ramp. When I had my 2003 Avalanche, I loaded heavy things into the bed this way many times, so I know that it lines up right. It's the Florida end that will be the problem. That's awesome you have a driveay set-up for loading and unloading a bike. That makes it much much easier. Yeah I never thought about strapping the ramps to the truck either. I thought that was a fantastic idea. And just how he walked the bike up. It seemed to effortless.
  19. Ramps. But it's the only way I'll get it down to Florida.Front of front tire to middle of rear tire is 76.5" Yeah ramps still just suck getting a bike into the bed of a truck. We used ramps to get my Daytona into the bed of a Silverado when I picked it up and it just always seems sketchy. Why not drive it down to Florida?!?! Well it sounds like it will fit with a little maneuvering it around if you put the front wheel in one of the corners, but the tailgate will have to be down. Wouldn't I put it along the center line of the truck? Why not drive it down? I"m a new rider and don't want to be on the bike for 1,200 miles. I want to stay down there for 2 or 3 weeks at a time, and being only on a motorcycle wouldn't work. I found Bikes Corner to Corner work out very well in truck beds. Load it up say on the left side of the tail gate and wheel it into the passenger right corner and strap it down. For short beds that always worked best for me. That's what we've always done. I did it for my Daytona and my current two-wheeled toy... Honda PCX125. SCOOTER! lol
  20. Lucky you! I didn't catch any footage. Travelling for Fathers Day weekend, crabbing and halibut fishing ( and eating crab and halibut ) with my pop, had me checking in for updates only. Dang, bummer on the race part but it sounds like a good day overall! I got to watch a good amount saturday in between things at home and the gym but they stopped coverage I think at 4pm then they had two short 30 minute bits at 5-30pm and 6-30pm and when I looked on our guide I didn't see anything until the conclusion that started coverage back at like 3 or 4am till 9am. I woke up at like 930 and was disappointed I missed the finish, especially after what I heard happened to Toyota.
  21. Great race to watch. I wish I could have watched a little more but it just wasn't covered from like 5pm-3am.
  22. I had to google to find out the correct way to load it because I've also never had to move one 1200 miles. I think the longest I had to transport a bike was my Daytona from Colombia, MO to home which is only 150 miles so we were a little less concerned about the long haul and we got out after about 30 minutes to double check and make sure everything was still snug and secure. Aaaaaanyway... my point of this post is the video. I never had a front wheel block that they have which is why we wedged it into the corner of the bed.
