1. Looks better than the last one... but the last one looked like dog $h!..so there's that. It might be a badass car but it still doesn't look right.
2. Congrats, Reg! The new Malibu has definitely grown on me. When it was first shown I couldn't have disliked it much more but the more I see it the better it looks.

Also, who makes the tune for you. I didn't see any pre-tuned tuners for a Ranger(like my Escape). I would have to pay somebody to make a custom tune to go with the tuner. Very true, who does the tuning and their experience with it. I also know both SCT and Superchip retire products as OEM auto's change. I cannot get a default tuner package for a Suburban from the 90's but they do still have the data and as such usually for a small fee will create it for you. I myself grew up wrenching on more auto's than I care to think about but still enjoy playing with the tune. Give me an open sourced chip and tuner and I will be happy to play with the tune! That is one thing that scares me the most to mess with, the computer's tune! lol I never plan to toy with the tune. I'd play with shift points and firmness and such but not the actual timing and stuff. It just freaks me out how much I could mess up.
4. Not sure why but the web site for MB is weird as today the package is higher than it was the other day I compared them. Plus for some reason I cannot add the trailer hitch without loosing the electronic safety gear my sister wants. Strange, but no matter how I look at it, when you put the name aside and compare basic Facts, the Buick Wins hands down over BMW and MB. Or MKX? Not sure if size-wise it stacks up but it starts at 38k so I just assumed it was the competitive Lincoln. Yes looked at the Q5 as well as the MKX. She did not care for the styling or the layout of the Q5. The MKX was a good choice till it died on her on the test drive. Had plenty of gas but just stopped and had the engine dummy light on. At this point she made the comment, Fix or Repair Daily is still the moto at Ford? Was quickly off her list to consider. Will say that the last 2 months have been a drive of CUVs in trying to help her narrow it down. At this point I think she is set on the Envision. Only thing holding back now is the finalization of her divorce first and then a new auto to start a new life. Yeah that would leave a bad taste in my mouth as well, the MKX. That's good she at least tried both of those out as well. Cannot hurt to try on too many cars when they are that large of an investment.

6. Won't depreciate like those two? Riiiiiight. Must be why you can pick up a "gently used" MB at great low prices. And it has that wonderful Jaguar reliability we've come to know and love for so many years. </sarcasm> If I were in the market for a vehicle in this price range...and only planned to own for a couple years to be covered under the warranty... I would consider the F-Pace. I just think it looks great and 340hp would be on the fun side as well. But absolutely NOT if it was outside of warranty. And that goes for about anything German as well. Everything "high end" depreciates like a son of a bitch. Maybe one or two hold 1-2% over the others.. but in general they all fall like a brick once off the dealers' lots. MB is no better than Jag or BMW or Audi save for a % or two.. Did you look at the Q5 also? That's in that same category of small-ish CUVs, right? Or MKX? Not sure if size-wise it stacks up but it starts at 38k so I just assumed it was the competitive Lincoln.

Tunes can completely wake up a vehicle. I had my 04 GT tuned back when I had it and it was night and day. With that said, I don't know anything about "superchips". My experience says go with a larger name like SCT. Also, a quick google search shows a lot of Ranger owners using a SCT tuner and they all seem to love it.
8. I'm not sure if you're talking in general or if you were referring to the image but that image is India.
9. LOL how is this even a statistic?!?! Who actually went in the field to gather this data?!?!?
10. But if it comes how it has to be for her to buy it..then it is what dfelt quoted. It sounds like his sister isn't a race car driver and a tenth or two to 60mph doesn't matter...like most people. It'll depreciate more as it starts 8ish grand more for similar product.
11. When you say mid level are you talking about 4 engines in the ATS? 2.0T, 3.0TT, X?, 3.6TT? We know the n/a 3.6 cannot be above the 3.0TT but everybody keeps saying "mid-level" engine.. well that's kind of tricky when there are 4 engines offered. Or are you saying it should be 2.0T, n/a 3.6, 3.0TT, 3.6TT?
12. For a moment, I was scratching my head as to which Volkswagen model equipped with 2.0L TDI would get $44,000. Then I remembered the Audi A3 is also involved. Yeah, I actually just talked to a lady I work with who has an A3 and she took a trip last year and averaged 52mpg. INSANE mpg. I guess that's possible when it's an engine that isn't compliant with regulations..lol
13. Keep in mind that the 1300 to 1500 range is for a person out of shape, needing to drop stored body fat. As you get lean and mean and you are growing yourself in working out, 1800 to 2200 is pretty common for a man looking to maintain being lean and fit. If you want to bulk up then you have more intake. Course then you have peeps like Michael Phelps and his 12,000 calories a day to feed his swimming practice of 2 - 3 times a day. Crazy! Oh that makes sense. I was thinking when you said 12-1500 it wasn't for weight loss. It was just regular maintaining your weight. Good lord. 12,000 calories in a day?!?! I have heard of people like "The Rock" taking in an insane calorie count for weight lifting but I don't think it was 12,000 lol. Had to look it up, Dwayne Johnson takes in 5000 calories a day. http://www.etonline.com/news/162513_dwayne_the_rock_johnson_5000_calorie_diet_will_astonish_you/ "Notes: "I do cardio 4–5 a.m., then take 4–6 scoops of Optimum’s Amino Energy."
"After cardio I eat breakfast [Meal no. 1]."
"After breakfast I hit the iron for 90 minutes."
"Post-workout I have 60 grams Optimum Nutrition’s Platinum Hydrowhey with 15 grams of glutamine."
"Thiry minutes later I consume 32 oz of Gatorade.""
14. That also reminds me.. I've used/still use sometimes an app called "MyFitnessPal" and it is a GREAT way to track what you're eating. It has a barcode scanner so you can just scan whatever barcode and it will bring up the stats of the food/drink and it will give you a daily goal based on your job/lifestyle(for instance, I sit at a desk all day so I chose the "sedentary" one). deflt, Dang...1200 calories a day for an adult male??? That seems so low to me. I'm in the 1800-2000 range. Depending on the workout I allow myself to eat a little more. Like.. a good leg day where I can barely walk afterwards.. I allow myself to eat a little more knowing my body is using everything I'm taking in.
15. "Buyback values will be determined by the retail value of the affected vehicle as of September 2015, prior to Volkswagen's public disclosure of the widespread emissions cheating. Owners who choose to sell their cars back to Volkswagen will receive between $12,500 and $44,000, depending on vehicle condition and mileage. The Federal Trade Commission is also requiring VW to pay off the loans of owners who owe more than their affected TDI vehicle is worth, up to 130 percent of the buyback value of the car. Those who leased their affected TDI vehicles are eligible for a no-cost lease termination." http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/car-technology/news/a29743/vw-tdi-emissions-settlement-cost-update/
16. Good... I don't think the 2.5 should have ever been in this car.
17. Welllllll... I'll give my opinion on the matter but this is not fact.. hopefully dfelt can answer. If you're cutting way back on your overall calories and working out, aka burning more calories, are you taking in too few of calories now? And because your body is getting what sounds like higher quality foods maybe your body is also absorbing the foods and utilizing them much better a long with fewer calories and burning way more you might have swung a little too extreme for your body.. Do you count your calories? if so, about how man have you taken in and burnt a day for this week?
18. THANK YOU! First off, I agree with about everything else you posted, good information! But mostly, the carbs thing. Carbs are energy. The body and BRAIN need energy for minimum daily activities. I'm not saying carb-load but the body needs waaaay more than those fad diets allow(I forget the name of it but one is like 5g a day..that's nuts.)...which is ironic because everybody that I've ever known to do those fad diets, and have success, later gains the weight back because it is not a realistic lifestyle and extreme. You have to be comfortable and enjoy what you're doing a long with the gains.
19. Water is such a great suggestion. I know it is difficult at times for myself to drink water and not something else but it is a GREAT way to shave a lot of wasted calories out of a diet. I need to grab one of those Mios myself. I've only heard great thing about yoga to be honest. It just isn't a "manly" thing to do so I think many males tend to stay away from it. Great suggestion to hit up a few classes for cheap then once you've learned a bit to do it on our own at home. Pre-workouts CAN be great but like you said, most are filled with cheap product and caffeine. There are good ones that can improve your workouts but a lot of the cheaper ones are more of a quick hit of energy. Buuuuut I wouldn't get into the pre-workout thing until you start to get a little burnt out and need a little kick or a change to spike the workout again. Ohhhh that tingly beta-alanine feeling.. I'm not a fan of it but I know it's working! Great advise FAP!
20. Personally this line has always annoyed me. Are you going to die at 30 or 80? If you eat $h!ty and don't exercise and still live to 80 are you able to move around on your own? Can you go watch your grandkids graduate high school or are you stuck relying on other people because you never took care of the one body you got? Everybody does die but it's how you get to that point that varies wildly.
21. I've got a buddy who would really appreciate a $5,000 check(I thought I read somewhere that is more the "expected" amount).
22. In all reality cars today are so competitive with each other in so many categories that really is what it boils down to... what do you think looks the best. A tenth or two here or there, a half inch here or there really doesn't matter. 1mpg..? Doesn't matter. 10hp/tq? Doesn't matter. As for the S/7/CT6/A8 I like the looks of the CT6 second to the boring and lame looking S Class. There's still just something about it that screams "presence" over the others. CT6 is definitely the "sharpest"(no pun intended) of the bunch.
23. F, that looks bad ass. I suppose one could say its a modern take on an old idea. I personally love Cafe Racers. I love the look of them but man do they look uncomfortable! They just look "tough" to me and I love it. Like, "I don't give a $h! about anything but engine, wheels, and hooning. Let's get after it!" This happens to me as well. Because I am at work and there are restrictions to certain websites Drew said it was likely because of that. I know I can't go to Dropbox from my work computer but I use Photobucket just fine.
24. F, that looks bad ass.
