  1. Okay SMK, I mean Blu. Way to move the bar there. Fact is that if you were put that standard equipment listed on a Cruze, then your imaginary $10K difference disappears. Feel free to reference the stats David posted above (regarding average car prices) to see how completely out of touch you are here. Hell, if it didn’t have that equipment and was prices at $25K as a result, you’d be complaining about something else. Remember. You’re the one trying to compare two different things that are clearly not equal.
  2. And while some still bring up the price being too high when compared to say, a Chevy Cruze, they are ignoring what the Bolt offers standard and what the Cruze NEVER had. And I quote, ”The bow-tie brand also offers the Bolt EUV with a sunroof (a first for any Bolt-badged model), surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise, the driver-assist system that enables hands-free driving on more than 200,000 miles of designated roads in the United States and Canada.” So its not really a “$10K” price difference between the Bolt and defunct Cruze (which in higher trims was closer to $30K than $20K btw) when you compare apples to apples instead of apples to obvious oranges.
  3. A little high, yes but in a world where there are 3 cylinder Trailblazers selling for $32K, its not THAT high.
  4. You’re assuming that that it would be a Bolt+12 when it could just be a completely different model entirely that is larger, which is what should happen or yes, it would be very redundant. Either way, despite the usual naysayer, both models are cheaper than the one model they replace so that is a step in the right direction.
  5. The Buick Encore GX is only 3 inches longer than a standard Encore while there’s 6 inches between the two Bolt models. Not really that big of a deal IMO and that “not quite as long” length may be because of a future models that will be longer.
  6. Don’t see anything about cargo room difference between the two but the EUV Bolt is six inches longer (2.9” longer wheelbase) and rear seat legroom is three more inches than the standard Bolt (39 vs 36). It should be noted that the XT5, which is 20” longer overall than the Bolt EUV, has 39.1” of rear legroom.
  7. Again, that’s in most CUVs and it has a real easy solution. Leave the flat floorboard cover in place. The area shown underneath is for stashing small stuff or carrying groceries more securely anyway. My old Magnum was like that as are a lot of hatchbacks and CUVs. The Envision you were hyping the other day has a similar removable floorboard cover.
  8. While I agree about the lack of AWD (weight was clearly the issue here as it kills range), the rest of your post lacks context and shows that you are possibly nitpicking certain things, like the load floor. Example: Bolt EUV The Buick Encore GX Same “issue” and one that is common on a lot of CUVs. And while its not my cup of tea, at least the entry Bolt dropped $5500 in price which is something certain members about complained over since day one.
  9. Since we are being “honest” here, I’m just surprised that you could type that without openly bursting into flames due to the pure hypocritical nature of it. No further explanation needed.
  10. You also said that models like the XT4 and XT5 were no better than the Tesla S hence my rebuttal, skipping the fact that the S cost $30-40K MORE with that uninspiring interior. "The XT5, XT4 interiors are nothing special, a Tesla Model S is as nice as those."
  11. That’s because Tesla has had the bulk of the EV market to themselves. Let’s revisit those numbers in about three to five years when the competition goes all in on EVs. And Tesla interiors are garbage in fit and finish and quality. You are delusional to think otherwise much think it’s better than Cadillac. There is absolutely no correlation or data to suggest that will actually happen. Hell, in its current form, autopilot has made it worse. Ask the idiots who decided to take naps while their Tesla’s “drove” them home.
  12. You might want to actually read about the many problems with Teslas Autopilot before speaking of its alleged “superiority”. https://www.theverge.com/2019/5/17/18629214/tesla-autopilot-crash-death-josh-brown-jeremy-banner
  13. They are still targeting RR as well as Bentley. Not even bothering with the rest of the nonsense and I’ll just focus on your first sentence. Price was not best argument when cars like the 2nd gen CTS-V was spanking the Germans. It was the better drivers car overall. The same applies to the Blackwing as well. I do find it a bit hilarious that you think Cadillac won’t convert Tesla owners but I bet you think Benz can even though they are further down the EV pipeline than GM. Just stop the fanboy nonsense already.
  14. The whole point, that SMK intentionally misses is that Cadillac can compete at a lower price point and that’s mostly because the German competition is overpriced in the U.S. to begin with. It’s not that hard to figure out honestly but that BS has hijacked this thread for too long so...again, I love that a six speed manual comes standard on the Caddy’s!
  15. The top of the line CLA45 should be faster than a no longer made ATS-V or mid-range CT4-V. Again, those goalposts are getting mighty tired. To be fair, I brought up Maybach and Rolls (their huge current price differences) in counter to his assumption that Cadillac can’t compete with lower priced models n
  16. Fair point on the price front, back then. However, they still couldn’t compete and sold the remaining US back overseas when the sales turned sour. Now, they are exponentially cheaper than the Rolls while still thinking they are competing with them. The core point stands. You feel it’s okay for them to target the big boys at a lower price point but somehow it’s wrong for Cadillac to do the same. That’s the goalpost moving we are all referring to.
  17. Lol! My old ‘89 MR2 required baby hands to get to a belt much less take it off but that was definitely the exception more than the rule.
  18. It’s not even debatable that German autos have a worse reliability reputation (and with good reason) than Lexus. And clearly the cost of a timing belt has gone down for the Audi A8. Back in 2005, I was selling cars on a small lot and they had a 2002 Audi A8 that needed one. A third party mechanic was $1500 while Audi wanted $2400!
  19. There is only one Grand National that matters and it sure as hell isn’t a CUV.
  20. But a badge reengineered S Class is okay for the likes of the Maybach name though right? Again, get new material.
  21. Pay attention to what I said. The original Maybach was built to compete with RR but was far cheaper, something you were clearly okay with, yet somehow the CT5 can’t compete with the E Class because it is also cheaper? Olds is right. Get new material because what you’ve said on this entire thread is old, outdated, and at times just flat out wrong. Except it’s not a $36K caddy competing with a $100K car. It’s an $85K Blackwing that does and until you’ve actually sat in said Blackwing, you are just talking out of thin air about the interior. Shall we bring up how plain Jane a base E Class interior looks? Nothing but black everywhere I see.
  22. But you get to choose the al a carte thing like rear side impact airbags and USB-C ports (for those unsuspecting backseat passengers) though so it is wash lol!
  23. Moving on from the wash, rinse, repeat nature of debating the same s*** with a Daimler fanatic, I just dig the fact that a six speed manual comes standard on the Blackwing!
  24. A $60K Corvette competes with the $100K Porsche 911, so yes they are cross shopping. I just do not know how many more times this has to be explained to you. If a Maybach was once able to "compete" with a Rolls Royce, despite the HUGE price gulf between, then a Cadillac can sure as hell compete with an overpriced Benz. Are you kidding me? A similar in power AMG GT 4-door STARTS at $140K. It better beat everything Cadillac has. We won't even get into the oft delayed EVs from Benz. Vaporware does not count.
  25. And stop with the embellishment. You have the C, E, CLS, and S. Four. Everything else is a derivative of those four and half of those are being (or have already been) phased out. Nice job sidestepping the options /package debate though.
