  1. Seems to me that there was someone on this site who constantly remarked about the Escalade being nothing more than a “gussied up Chevy”. Seems to me that this Maybach is nothing but a “gussied up Benz”.
  2. Actually not a bad looking ride despite the name heresy but that three cylinder engine would be a hard no from me. Still, looks far better than the Trax.
  3. He laughs to hide the truth. Thanks for playing.
  4. We don't agree on much but a Cadillac version of the C8 would be the perfect true flagship car for Cadillac if done right. They cannot repeat the horrendous mistakes they made with the XLR. Price should be no object here if they want a true flagship car.
  5. The point here is that I have yet to see you levy the same level of "copy cat" criticism at GM, that you reserve for the Koreans. There is not one reason why they have to look alike just because they are the same class of vehicle either, based on your "logic". That is just asinine. The Camaro and Mustang are the same class of vehicle but look nothing alike so try again. The Equinox and Escape are the same class of CUV but look nothing alike. That is what you seem to missing here while resort to name calling and that ridiculous yet predictable defensive attitude. All makes copy each other (at some point) but you stick to very specific brands because well, who the F knows but they are right there for everyone to see. And I'm not a fanboy of any brand genius so your deflection is just that, deflection. The Lexus reference was made because they are generally at the top of just about every reliability survey out there. Sorry the facts bother you so much that you have to resort to baseless attacks. Besides, you've made three different brand fan claims against me in the last three months (FCA, Ford, and now Toyota). Pick one and stick with it junior. You, on the other hand, are clear cut GM fanboy by every definition of the term. Deny it all you want but there are literally hundreds of pro-GM and GM defense posts by you that support this assertion. You cannot say the same thing about me and that is the big difference here. I guess since I'm on here defending the Seltos, you'll be calling me a Kia fanboy next. And the Land Rover reference was about the design which you brought up but you can't seem to keep your arguments straight so we will just leave that one alone before you blow a fanboy gasket. You can't even make the comparison to the Escape anymore but a picture is worth a thousand words and your words about it mean jack squat.
  6. Hard to beat those old 4Runners.
  7. I do not get that profile on any of them. Looks blocky for the wrong reasons. Just makes the design seem confused. "Do I want to look like a small SUV or do I want my back end to look like an Aztek on meth? Decisions, decisions." At least the Kia is not quite as sloped in the back but is my least favorite part of it. So many auto makes out there seem to consider the rear 1/4 of a car an afterthought. To each their own though. This will still be a solid seller for Kia and so will the Trailblazer (the inclusion of a POS 3 cylinder engine not withstanding).
  8. Late edit: That should read “while is NOT “Lexus” like in quality.”
  9. In fairness, the Soul is the oddball here since it doesn’t offer AWD. Doesn’t really fit the CUV category in the traditional since IMO. Having said that, too many companies now are doing this with their CUV lineup. Barely and inch or so difference is size is just silly to me.
  10. Lol! With honorable mention to the Acura “beak”! And at least the Lexus LC wears it well somehow. That Genesis grill though, ugly stick city no matter what it gets slapped on!
  11. Everyone-“The Lexus predator grill is the ugliest grill ever” Genesis-“Hold my beer.”
  12. Whatever the GM fanboy has to tell himself. Land Rovers are overpriced junk and while Kia is “Lexus” like in quality, it is worlds better than the GM fanboy realizes. Hell, their initial quality has been rated higher than GM, on average, but who’s keeping count of actual facts when it’s easier for fanboys to ignore that and just make up random BS? (Looks at the new “Trailblazer” profile that it shares with the Nissan Kicks and has a similar headlight swoop as the Evoque and wonders if said fanboy will criticize it to the same level that he has the Kia. We will sidestep naming the FWD CUV “Trailblazer” in the first place) Sincerely, The non-fanboy who hasn’t had a drink in years and was never a “drinker”.
  13. Exactly how drunk are you @USA-1? There is little to no resemblance to the Escape. “Oooh, it wraps around the side like a dozen other CUVs are doing these days” Same applies to the Evoque reference. Yes there is a similar “sleekness” to the headlight design. Big deal. All makes are copying someone else these days, even GM (feel free to compare some Silverado lights with the F-150). At least the Kia will last longer than that POS Land Rover.
  14. Wasn’t it Mercedes that asked Ford for help on a three cylinder engine not so long ago, before abandoning it? It was destined for the A and B class I believe. Having said that, I would not touch a three cylinder engine with a ten foot pole. Best of luck with that Buick.
  15. By far the best looking Lexus out there. It’s not even close given the sheer repulsiveness of their entire lineup.
  16. Yes I do remember which is why I brought it up. Not near as much disdain for that as what I’m seeing here but who’s keeping count though?
  17. Riiiiight. A nation full of Mustang owners and I’m sure you took a very scientific and accurate poll of said owners to come to this “conclusion”. It surely has nothing to do with your disdain of the powertrain involved. What the F ever. Exactly my point. Just because some random folks on a message board express their displeasure doesn’t mean squat in the grand scheme of things. Wonder if he shares that same opinion about Vette owners and their opinions of it going mid-engine? The fact is that it wouldn’t matter if every mustang owner loved the E Mach. He would still cry foul because of the powertrain choice. Well boo F’in hoo to him.
  18. And it’s hilarious coming from a guy that would probably have no problem with a Corvette based SUV, so long as it uses dinosaur juice. Out of date thinking is still out of date. Yeah, those pesky customers. They just keep the lights on for companies like Ford. Damn them. Damn them all.
  19. They talked about plenty and it looks better than anything from Daimler. The C8 had years of coverage prior to it’s official release so you are not even close to comparing apples to oranges here. Again, anything to besmirch a domestic product. Agreed. Ford should be give a ton of credit for not going the route you mentioned and giving a clean slate product while carrying a familiar face (Mustang in this case).
  20. It’s called having an open mind which is sorely lacking for some. As long as Ford doesn’t bitch this up (i.e. the Explorer/Aviator launch), they may actually be on to something here. Still not crazy about that oversized tablet though. That is a maintenance and damage nightmare waiting to happen.
  21. Who would have thought that you would have a problem with an EV? Just shocking. The new Corvette has a trunk in the front too but who’s keeping actual count here and aside from the ridiculous tablet it bears no resemblance to a Tesla. Hell the profile screams Jaguar to me which actually isn’t a bad thing (just slightly more “stretched”). You always see the negative in EVs even if it looked exactly like you would want it to look so your opinion of it is always taken with a laughable grain of salt. Thanks for not disappointing with your “expert” analysis.
  22. The only similarity is possibly the profile which quite a few cars have these days courtesy of the coupe look craze. Nothing else on those two cars come close to matching otherwise IMO. The Kia looks far better too. All car makes borrow from each other these days. It’s not just a Hyundai/Kia thing anymore.
  23. Look at the first few years versus the last few years. Again, I’m not disagreeing with the notion that they could have kept selling them but when you look at that sales history you posted, it’s easy to see why the bean counters said “no”. Tahoe’s and Silverados got more expansive too but they keep selling. Still a shame they gave it the ax though.
  24. And which "big push" is that? Are they trying to push diesels again?? The ELR was sharp looking ride but it was priced way too high and at a time when people stopped buying two door cars. Bad timing and piss poor pricing.
  25. It should be noted that Honda had four wheel steering years before GM. (1987 Prelude which I got to drive right after I got my license in '89 and it was a fun little ride) And I agree whole heartedly with the last part. Loved the last gen. Avalanche. Sadly, sales of them probably didn't justify the need to continue producing them.
