  1. Are you forgetting about the new Aviator? That thing is baller and nobody has anything nearly as prestige garnering or athletic utility looking as that thing except Land Rover’s Velar. The Navigotor is printing money for Lincoln as they raised ATP’s by $30,000 in one generation.

  3. You do all realize that MY changeover is occurring....and it’s expected to be selling 2018s out quickly at this time of year.
  4. The Bolt is not spacious by any measure of reality. It’s a subcompact. What do you expect? Every subcompact recently has had size bloat or need turned into a marked up jacked up crossover. Only thing the Bolt has got is that it’s electric. and Voltec is dead. The writing is on the wall.

What’s even more bizarre is that the import sedans are now mostly designed and engineered for American tastes while domestic compacts, at least after the recession and recovery almost always have their roots in cars that would be largely designed for foreign markets. Can you really say that while you still drive your Escalade and Denali???
  7. I feel like the F150 is the one I would trash and beat up the most though. Nothing to do with capability or visuals, but yeah. But the F150 also looks like the one I want to smash apart with a sledgehammer. Something about built Ford tough makes me want to destructively test the Ford. The Luxo-Ram, the technology and stuff (hehe who remembers that one?) SilverSierra, and then the beer can F150.
  8. I think electrics will never really be competitive with gas cars on saving purchase price. The problem is that leases are the only reason electric cars make sense. no one is willing to plunk down money on unproven technology unless it’s someone with big money to buy a Tesla. my version of “unproven” here = rapid obsolescence. in just 3-4 years the average range of any electric of car for sale has doubled or even tripled...good and bad. Charge times are also being reduced

  10. That’s pretty much it. Their rebadge of the Insignia as a frickin’ Commodore was perhaps the stupidest thing they could have done. They would have even preserved the name of the Commodore if they had just let the model die out peacefully instead of this horrible nameplate transfer.

  12. DFelt how is this a relevant question for gods sakes you can’t fit yourself either headroom or legroom wise behind the driver seat adjusted for yourself in any midsize sedan currently available for sale. 😛
  13. I am actually really starting to like this car. Granted we are looking at 330i’s and up and MSports... I like everything about it, I don’t even think it looks all that boring to me anymore. BMW did a great job in terms of details. I wonder now... the Alfa and Genesis as new comer really have a lot of work to do against this to actually make in roads.
  14. The interior is a definite step up and now BMW’s look like they are the logical in between of Audi and Mercedes. Which means this car is blah at best. But I think the exterior overall is still more attractive than the Mercedes but the Volvo S60 is still the ‘all-new for 2019’ styling champion of this class.

Japan’s having a population implosion and their car market is in the process of cratering. none of their automakers can even survive on the JDM, and what is also true is that Japanese cars haven’t changed in decades. They’re all really tiny boxs that are fancy golfcarts. Part of why so many Indian cars in the modern Indian car market also use a tin pot style formula for cars.
  16. With American brands cars going extinct left and right and the majority of US assembled import cars being for import consumption. Literally the best they can probably do is probably nothing. You see Japan having the capability to build their own carrier commercial aircraft or fighter jets, and Japan doesn’t complain that American makes like Boeing and Lockheed do so well there... There’s an example specialization that works handily.

I have a feeling that they’re pivoting V towards their crossovers and part of that is dumbing down V performance, and calling their VSports their full on V Series. which actually may be the smartest thing done to V brand in a long time. They need it to sell, not be some exclusivity factor that is non-existent outside the U.S.

  21. So in other words, you’re wrong and Asian makes do make cars for big people. The same argument applies to them. they make half-asses full-sizes and instead choose to focus where they can make dominant products. it’s a moot point, if you’re a tall person you can buy a Honda CRV or Pilot. Don’t tell me you’ll compare a Expenditon ESV third row as the entire reason why Asian makes make cars for short folk only cos even a Sienna could hand the Escalade it’s ass in the space and space efficiency department.
  22. Then how do you explain that the Asian makes still sell minivans, quite literally the most spacious passenger vehicles one can buy without buying a bad guzzling full size. And again you’re picking on Mazda as the example of every Asian make. What a dumb thing to do. Remind me when Ford will make a full-size sedan with headroom again. Or when Cadillac decides to sell the ATS-L. And when Cadillac will make a strectch saloon that isn’t called the CT6. It’s completely baseless to use trucks as an example of to support an argument Asian cars are designed for small people, because for the most part American brands can’t even compete on small cars. How do you explain that the 200 was he longest midsize yet the worst legroom? Or that Honda’s CRV is bigger than a Ford Edge? Or that GM no longer sells a minivan, and even a Traverse has less total volume than all the minivans?
  23. The hell are you talking about DFelt. When the Tundra was new it had the largest cab sizes available in its class The Taco has only recently had competition. Honda Accord is supremely spacious. So is Camry. Literally every excuse of the American cars is that they’re too small. Way to go to pick on Mazda. The CX9 was not built for small people. It was built to kick every other 3 rows ass in style. And it does that in spades.
