  1. ought to make it a 6 speed while we are at it... its becoming more popular to offer 6 speeds
  2. aww man... no love for me... haha... ohh well, cant win em all
  3. you are correct... water does not burn, and its not flamible... but it does combust over a certain temperature... at standard atmospheric pressure that temperature in which water combusts is 212 degrees F or 100 Celcius. and when water does convert into water vapor, it expands 1600 times the original size, thus combustion... the chemical change from water to gas. the only problem with the combustion engine is that it would increase the atmospheric pressure requiring the themperature of the water to be higher prior to combustion, then you release the pressure, and kaboom you have yourself one hell of a kick, and some hot ass vapors...
  4. i believe if he was corrupt as Jim often portrays him.. Kirk would not have so much money at stake... but I do beleive, that he wont last too much longer if certain things do not start showing way... in 2005 they knew it was a bad year, they tacked on lots of union expenses and what not... delphi... a rushed GMT900 development... what else?
  5. yes they did... they did refer to it as DOD but!... it has stopped months ago, with the launch of the tahoe...previously the SS impala and a few other vehicles were really the only ones... but GM realized the objection... and with the Impala, I personally got the complaint about the old school Displacement technology... so I'm sure my customer was not the only one to complain... for the record he didnt purchase the impala SS... All i'm saying is we've been told by multiple sources to correct any DoD coments and suggest the new term AFM or Active Fuel Mangement.
  6. ohh my bad... we didnt get a real good breifing on it at the ride and drive... we are just supposed to know that technology has been improved a lot since those days, and the precision is remarkable.
  7. cool... haha we picked the same features... there is accually a lot to be said about that tahoe i could ramble on for hours with a person regaurding the capability refinement or responsiblity it has... at our seminar we are supposed to go over the PRIDE that the Tahoe has Price Responsible Interior D... hrmm i forget what D stands for (if i remember correctly its several words) Exterior and man i could go on about how capable that G80 differencial is.. how the stablitrac is recognized as the #2 life saver in accidents behind a seatbelt (i think #3 is airbags...) I could go on about how the ride is so smooth, or even better with the autoride standard on the LTZ... or how the power lift gate is helpful, the back up sensors, the back up camera, the flip and fold seats, why it is better that the rear seats remove rather then fold into the floor... I could go on about how the engine is the most fuel efficent in its class comon man... bring someone to the lot and i'll teach em everything they could ever want to know... about if the vehicle is balanced on two wheels... you can still get in or out of the vehicle, previous models dont have a stiff enough chassis and the door would be twisted enough so it couldnt open. i could go on... a comercial can never cover everything...
  8. either way... GM will still complain...if for one second a person says... "hey this displacement thing, is that anything like my stupid oldsmobile?" that person will not trust it and will not purchase the vehicle! I believe this to be the sole reason GM has changed the name to Active Fuel Management. because if you look at Chevys website... and you look at the engine choices for the tahoe you will find it says "Engine Vortec 5300 V8 with NEW Active Fuel Management (2WD models only) " with an option on the "Engine Vortec 5300 V8 with NEW Active Fuel Management and E85 flexible-fuel capability" or if you look at the Impala it'll say "The small block V8 in SS models features: Active Fuel Management for an EPA estimated 28 MPG highway." or the 5.3 or the trailblazer "Engine: Vortec 5300 V8 with Active Fuel Management (AFM) technology "
  9. personally i'd rather have a problem from a "lets try something new, lets see if people like it" then "lets cut some costs on the engine, people will be happier their car will be 50$ cheaper!"
  10. i spent a good 3 months trying to design a 4 stroke steam engine... just couldnt figure out if the energy required to vaporize the water would be retained by the combustion. waters cumbustion is extremely powerful! water expands 1600x after combustion... the only thing is to have enough heat to vaporize the amount inside the cylinder... then you also must have a renewable source of water... because once you heat it you'd probably have to cool it down and thus another wasted energy source... but... the idea has promise...
  11. the question is... with the roush be better then the gxp?
  12. good article although GM will hit them hard on the review for innacuracys... GM has never refered to the tahoe has DoD... and has changed all publications on all vehicles to AFM or Active Fuel Management... GM does not want to confuse people with Olds Displacement disaster back in the day (When the oldsmobile system 8-6-4 system just shut off the spark but the fuel still came and went leaving unwanted gunk from unburt fuel and several other problems with continued usage)
  13. haha we were playing this game on the freeway last night haha... whats that car... what kinda truck is that... lol we also did it in the parking lot too after we got out of the lakers game... haha i won that one... i'm like maybach! Maserati! Bently! porsche! yay! lol i even saw a new escalade... looks good...
  14. thats an awesome thing to hear... kudos to you! i love it when a company will take the warrenty burdon of a pissed customer... some dealerships really dont want to do it...
  15. really great read... have i ever got surveyed? nope... but has my dad who has owned like 5 toyotas and 2 fords (which the only reason he owns the fords are because the rig is 20k + pounds and toyota can handle that... so if you can imagine if the F350's never see a day unloaded... they are likely to have a problem here or there for such a burdon of weight strain) so because of his problematic ford (1989 F350), on his 2003 F350 he has now purchased a 10 year 100k mile mechanical insurance for the vehicle to insure it never has problems that come out of his pocket...
  16. dont forget with the new pricing stratagy... there is less profit... on an old suburban they had at least 4k in profit for a base model... now the LTZ's are lucky to get that much... the LS's are more like $1700 or so... so this is one reason the sticker price is similar is because the dealerships have msrp's near actual selling price
  17. ohh i'm in... i'll submit one... anything i can to attract the attention of GM... although technically i think i'm excluded from this who cares its a technicality.... heres what i came up with... its probably not the best, but its a shot... Here's link
  18. from what my salepeople say, they inflate the sticker just so "post" negociation they arrive at sticker... because our customers are like when we tell them we dont discount nor mark up our corvettes... the stickerprice... take it or leave it...
  19. well its got the exact same faceplate on the radio that the 07 tahoes have... so the Nav would fit where that cd player area is... not up on the top where that weird compartment is...
  20. mitsubishi i really think ought to make their exit soon... quit wasting money on this market... right now when detriot is struggling and toyota is trying to be #1... the market is too feice for lackluster products... and its only going to get worse with china getting involved... I also think VW also better withdraw... lots of people hate the quality of the new VW's
  21. 1: Mitsubishi Damante? 2: Suburban... 3: Skyline? or 240sx 4: porsche cayman? 5: old lamborgini... 6: dont know... wait is that a ford probe? 7: haha right... i dont know old cars 8: thats a BMW for sure.. is that the 1 series? 9: honda CRV 10: saab... i dont know saabs naming sequence tho.. 11: Nissan i think...
  22. well the 69 ZL1 Yenkos... werent production... but the 2 corvettes... and probably others were made... but i dont know
  23. frying oil is vegtable oil... Mr diesel designed the diesel engine on peanut oil... but due to the extra expense of farming crops, deisel has always been cheaper... so yes by adding aditives you can make your own bio diesel...
  24. wish we saw some more of this... by the accual media... as for the idea of bad reporting... there should be a magazine that reports every media source for accuracy... it would probably clean up a lot of TV stuff and magazine claims...
  25. ZL1's werent production...also the late ZL1's also werent production either...
