Judging from the rear fog lights, it looks like a EuDM version. Looks more promising after it shaded some of its padding.

A Little Gift from Chrysler
I think GM has new vehicles for people reaching 1 million mark. There was a story about a Silverado being replaced by a another one, and SAAB replaced the 900 with a 9-5.

Such nice and small touches will go a long way in creating goodwill and fostering retention in customers. Good job AC.

8.9-magnitude quake triggers devastating Japan tsunami
And Russians were testing fissile explosions in Chernobyl. The energy released in a 8.9 Ritcher scale is incomprehensibly MASSIVE. FYI, energy released by Chernobyl reactor blast was "only" about 11,000,000,000 (equivalent to a 3.5 Ritcher Scale) Joules compared to nearly 1,400,000,000,000,000,000 Joules released in the earthquake. Nothing man makes can prevent the destruction or be safe from this energy. In some ways an instant meltdown and blowup did not happen after such a massive earthquake can be considered a feat of engineering.

Any changes to your "automotive family" soon?
Looking for some changes pretty soon (6 months or so), but plans are still up in air.

I can't say that I like that pillar, nor the goofy skylights, but the overall shape of the wagon is very, very good. I feel the same way. If the D-pillar is "normalized" and the structurally inefficient skylights are removed, it has a great shape and taut proportions.

Small change to the Politics section
Camino, I think the main reason DD is going there is because we see more posts in Political section than the automobiles. Granted that there is no excitement to be found recently in that category. There were some great ideological threads in the section when it came to making America stronger where almost all the members agreed to a consensus. But most threads have been bickering, with nothing constructive coming out. It just feels like a bigger ax is brought to slay other person every time a post is made, making it into a Pyhrric moral victory for either side. While people like to be rebellious, somehow when it comes to solving social and economic problems they follow rules of political game. Time has come that Democracy should be getting rid of politicians and have real "leaders", which are a rare and endangered species, stand up. We at cheers and gears are intelligent bunch and should be moving away from political restriction and affiliation while attacking a problem, which sadly is not the case as seen in the political forum and hence I support the move.

Small change to the Politics section
Good move there. I was really getting tired of the political talks going on. We come here for car information, politics can be found somewhere else on the web.

GM CFO Chris Liddell Leaves
I think this is what he was hired to do as GM had management stating in yearly reports that they had material weaknesses in internal controls over financial reporting for years (yet Old GM management apparently did nothing to remediate them). It's not that positive to perceieve a high rotation in these types of positions, but it is somehow expected at this stage: people may be brought in to do aim for some very specific goals. If these sort of news continues for another year or two, though, it may mean GM is having trouble retaining qualified staff and that would be worrying. Well said. But the magnitude of rotation going on is still significant and cannot be neglected either.

Color 1906 SF Earthquake photos found
Ah subtractive element colored photography. See those Red, Green, and Cyan on the edges? They were basically the color elements used on the background of a black and white film to form colors. Assuming a white light falls on the film, the tri-colors basically are subtracted to get the true color. If I remember correctly SECP was first tried somewhere in the 1870's by none other than Polaroid. Brilliant piece. I miss film photography.
