  1. Mushroom Cloud! One of my Import-Humper friends had a Nissan Hardbody King-Cab... a 1988 I believe, and It died about 110K Miles but for the last month before the engine bit the dust it was running on 2 cylinders because the other 2 lost compression completely. He was running between Calgary and Lethbridge on a L2
  2. The Cav's wiper blades are a dream compared to the Venture. If there's one thing the U-Bodies just didn't build on in the 11 Years between our first and current ones were manufactured... it's the wipers. They don't apply pressure evenly, and make a horrible squeaking noise even when the window is soaking wet... When you're on the road passed out in the middle-row Captains Chair and your father decides to clean the window... you wake up pretty quick!
  3. Eh, No. Nothing less than 6 Cylinders for me thanks. First of all... It's extremely low mileage (66K Miles). If I turf that car, I'd get either a W-Body Intrigue/Regal/Century or an H-Body 88, 98, or LeSabre. It doesn't help that now my parents refer to every Cobalt they pass on the road as "that bucket 'o crap" (real bad test drive experience, and my father likes the 11 year old Cavalier over the 2007 Cobalt). Failing all... the master plan is that the Cavalier take me about 3 more years down the road. I'll give it to my brother when he turns 16 and I'll assume the MAXX... Assuming my financials are in order, in about 6-7 Years, I'll be rolling in a brand-new Buick Regal
  4. Well I had some time on my lunch break so I went out to the lot and fiddled with the fuses... I took Fuse 25 out for about 5 mins and then reinserted it. When I turned the key, the wipers reset to the normal off position and everything is now functioning normally.
  5. While I generally help people out... I would have still not done anything for Tundra Man... You get what you pay for.
  6. My frustration is more with mind-numbing lack of knowledge... like when I was driving a friend yesterday on a hill... an Accord and RAV4 driver... who was watching my speedometer and made the retarded comment: "Typical American car, no control on hills, look, it gains speed when you coast down a hill! Both our JAPANESE CARS don't gain speed on hills like that TOYOTA is TEH PWNERS". It's okay though. When I got to his house, I put a hex on his RAV and wished sludge upon it. He proceeded to tell me that "from what he's heard"... My family is DENSE and MASOCHISTIC for driving GM vehicles almost exclusively since the early 40s.
  7. You can say that again! I was merging onto Crowchild going southbound from Memorial Eastbound and I slowed down to let someone in the lane next to me ahead so I could move over, as soon as the car (a Mustang) was clear, a the Camry behind me swung out from behind and prevented me from merging again. And twice in the last month, ignorant bus drivers have tried to change into my lane while I was still in it!
  8. Yep... That was a 2003&4 option I believe. Very obscure but I've seen a few like that.
  9. Nope, it's in one piece... I knows how to keep the interior nice!
  10. You know... there are days I think my car doesn't like me and is trying to kill me. We had a bad snowstorm last night and the roads were crap... By the afternoon commute I was driving down the expressway @ 80KPH and all of the ice had melted. There was lots of spray and I set the wipers to "Mist". wouldn't you know it- in the middle of a busy expressway, the wipers go up and freeze in the full upright position ! I try all the wiper settings and all I get are angry motor noises from the wiper motor. Meanwhile my windshield is getting dirtier and dirtier because of the spray. Since there's nowhere for me to really pull over and turn the car off, I have to drive home like that. By the time I get going down my street- I can barely see out of my window. I got home and turned the car off and on again, and now the wipers and fluid work, they just default to full upright when the wipers are off. I'm gonna take out the fuse out tonight and re-insert to see if that resets the system...
  11. Good luck! I'm especially partial to Intrigues... but watch that Autobahn Package, they've been known to eat brakes.
  12. Grandparents 2001 Caravan Aunt/Uncle 2007 FJ Cruiser and 1994 Ford Aerostar Aunt/Uncle 2006 Fusion and 2004 F150 Crew Cab Aunt 2007 Mazda3 Hatchback Aunt 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier Coupe Uncle 1984 Oldsmobile Toronado, 1987 Dodge Caravan, 1986 Buick Riviera With the exception of my Aunt Margaret and Aunt Michelle (who was stupid enough to buy an FJ) we're a domestic family to the core.
  13. I believe he said in a previous post that it was gone... I could be wrong.
  14. Wow... that's terrible Just another country with a joke justice system when it comes to punishing criminals... Canada's just as bad. Sometimes I envy you Yanks.... You've got a good justice system. Condolences 68.
  15. I guess at some point you're gonna have to cut your losses...
  16. Sorry to hear about the trouble I guess the Cutlass threw a hissy fit because it wanted new tires for Christmas too
  17. Sweet. Let's hope they can keep this up and continue to refine the product to maintain relevance. This could be the harbinger of salvation for GM... I feel it.
  18. Sony's lenses are junk... Get a Canon or Olympus or even a Nikon.
  19. I miss early 70s NASCAR where real cars ran the race! Oh, and BTW, No Camry should be racing... ever.
  20. Go out and have a good one
  21. I know some people who handle fleet accounts for GM where I live... most Fleeted Allures are CXLs, only about 30% are CXs. No mention of the CXS though. I'm guessing that with the scarce non-stockpiled engine and primo features above the CXL it's not allowed to be fleeted let alone why the rental companies would want them when the Lucerne is in the same price bracket is beyond me.
  22. The CXS is still alive and well in Canada at least... Of course that wouldn't do Paolino any good
