3 New GM rides in 7 months…the Story
The variable valve timing and hydraulic steering fixed it. We have the Impala with VVT and Hydraulic steering and the Maxx with Electric steering sans VVT and it's like night and day. Additionally I'm not too sure about the Epsilons holding up quality wise, our Maxx is a rattletrap and the G6, I've heard horror stories. I've heard lots of wacky stuff about the current Equinox too but I'm glad that that's hopefully been fixed with the 2010, with it's non-Chinese made engines, hell I might even consider buying one .

the dealer we deal with is more than happy to oblige in taking the decal off, I hate that look too.

Cobalt Cometh to Cory
I think it had to do with the optics (ie you can't get it w/o a spoiler)

I love Politics!
I would read into this as the Outlook going away and perhaps GMC going away that they'd want to consolidate the Enclave, Escalade and Traverse to one factory.

REPORT: Cadillac pinning its hopes on 'sub-CTS' model and new flagship sedan
It's all about the trunk with me, it's probably the most prominent dealbreaker. If I get back to the trunk and it's not quite right odds are I won't buy the car. I like the Impala because it has a nice big trunk that's wide, deep and tall, ditto with the DTS, LaCrosse, G8, and Lucerne. When the G6 first came out and I was checking it out, I was really liking it until I saw that tiny-ass trunk (13 Cubic Feet WTF?). The same goes for the new Malibu- the height of the load area is way lacking and it seems narrow, almost like a dark hallway.

I concur, that's the one weird thing about this car. If I'm going down at 80KPH (50MPH) and I hit a small dip in the road the car will search for a gear and then the down shift isn't so smooth- which feels odd. If I take the Impala down the same road it won't do any searching, it downshifts smoothly and promptly. I also noticed that the cloth material on the back seats seems to be softer than the material on the front seats.

My First Ride
As previously posted... a FOMOCO, specially made Rubber and plastic trunk-kit that lines the trunk and shields the gas tank will solve the problem I am told by many people my father (25 year RCMP veteran) and I know in law enforcement. Problem is Ford doesn't make them available for the civie versions of the car because the chances of being rear-ended standing still by someone going 55-65 MPH is 'negligible'. If for one don't call human lives "negligible" but whatever floats their boat I suppose. I don't know how easy the kit is to install on the stock Panthers but I assume it wouldn't be hard to find out- problem is Ford won't even sell the parts to Civies as far as I know. You want the kicker? Ford charges for this safety feature and many police forces save big money by ordering their CVPIs without it. Sheesh. (DF remember just let me know and I'm sure I know the right people as to where the kit can be had and if can be installed in your GM)

I'm with you too, I adore the CTS but it's too small a car for me.

Regardless of its FWDness I'm really looking forward to the new DTS... Although chances are I'll still prefer the current G-Body model... which I like for its simplicity and comfort (classic Cadillac)

So what did you learn today?
I learned of a 14000sq ft house for sale that has 42 rooms including 11 bathrooms and 12 bedrooms and something called a 'yoga room'. It's on several acres outside the city and I think I may have to go to an open house just to see this thing for myself.
