  1. Some were rentals but some didn't have barcodes. In Alberta fleet cars have a distinguishable license plate (ie C32948) or a fleet designation sticker on the plate instead of those "year" stickers.
  2. I've seen a lot of G8s on the road in the year they've been on Canadian roads.... the thing is that I've only seen two that weren't fleet cars or rentals of some kind. By my own estimations I've seen more privately owned Impalas and LaCrosses than I have G8s proportionally speaking.
  3. The girl- nice, the car- not so much
  4. That's Alberta Oil Sand to you
  5. My dad's first car was a mint Candy Apple Red 1965 Impala SS 283 Convertible on black vinyl interior not unlike this one:
  6. This. I wouldn't finance any car that was over five years old.
  7. I know the Canadian stuff hasn't been officially been released but the guy who owns my dealer was on the news yesterday to announce that they had not received the GM Death Notice. I'm wondering how many people here have had the dealer that they frequent get slashed in the last week?
  8. I understand that the Comfortred and Tripletred have really upped the quality at Goodyear over the previous Regatta and Aquatread tires they replaced. That and they're made in Canada (bonus).
  9. Damn that's a nice car.
  10. Um Yeah, me too. I had the same problem and they replaced the steering column and all I can say is if the problem returns they are replacing it again. That's what a warranty is for and that's what people buy a new car for- peace of mind. On the rutty snowy icy roads of Canada that rattling was so loud it overpowered the interior fan for noise and irritated me to no end. Why should I have to live with that kind of annoyance on a 2008 model year car?
  11. you don't think that the treads are too much tightly packed to be effective in snow and ice compared to the Comfortreds?
  12. If I was going strictly for performance I'd go for the Tripletreds no doubt but I want a quieter/softer riding tire. The car will be driven year round all weather.
  13. You forgot me starting mini W- and G- Body flame wars and TICK TOCK
  14. Aftermarket remote starters can drain the battery if not driven regularly... beyond that there isn't anything I've seen wrong with them. My grandfather had a Viper branded remote starter on his 94 Neon, 96 Windstar, and 01 Caravan without issue.
  15. Grand Canyon
  16. I'm not dishing for winter tires but I think the Comfortreds are good in the winter relative to the Tripletreds and way better than the Integrity. Goodyear Integrity Rating http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...Rating=S#Survey Goodyear Comfortred Rating http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...Rating=S#Survey Goodyear Tripletred Rating http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...Rating=S#Survey As you can see the Comfortred and Tripletred are close even tho the Comfortreds ride better.... and both are way better than the Integrity which is what I've been living with. I suppose that the Comfortred would be my choice.
  17. I've been concerned about the amount of tooth on the Primacy's tread... but I think the Comfortred might be better in that regard. I'm not interested in the Traction T/A as I want a more premium tire. I would pick the Tripletred but I want a quieter, less firm tire.
  18. I've been eying getting the Integrity OEM tires off the Impala in the future and I've been tire shopping. I've decided I want to have a quiet nice riding tire, and I'm willing to pay a premium. at the end of the day I'm choosing between the Goodyear Comfortred and the Michelin MXV4 Primacy which is a relatively new tire. I need something that is decent in the snow and wet as it does have to do all season duty. I know that the Michelin has a slightly shorter treadlife but probably rides better etc... My concern is would it be that much better and would it be better in the winter? I'm sure some of the tire guys here could help me make a decision. Goodyear Comfortred http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...inSpeedRating=S Michelin MXV4 Primacy http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...inSpeedRating=S
  19. Oh that's nothing. I just noticed a rust spot on the trunklid of the Impala... which has been garaged pretty much every day of its life and driven sparingly in winter.
  20. Every time I see stuff like this I just get madder and madder.
  21. Ocn, I had the EXACT same problem on my 08' LT Sedan and it was remedied with that repair, and it has held up for quite a few months so far with nary a peep. It's funny because the G5 I had never had that problem.
  22. I'd totally buy that in a heartbeat.
  23. Well I'm sorry that I don't care for the "sainted" G8. Last I checked the Impala doesn't share sheet-metal or an interior with any other GM vehicle... the fact that it's a rebadge is one reason I don't go for the G8. That being said I'm not knocking the G8, it's a competent car but I don't think I really want to drive something that wasn't originally designed to be a car under the badge it wears at this point... that and the G8 doesn't drive like the cars I like. Besides although the Intrigue is unique it's not a low volume car with nothing like it sold in NA, that was carted over from Oceania that happened to be made for 2 MY. Additionally I will not buy anything made outside of US/CA/MX (and that's a big if on MX)
  24. Nope. I don't like the G8, it's not a real Pontiac just another rebadge, and I don't care to buy a low-volume car made a world away that is unique enough for parts to be an issue.
