"Women propelled Trump to victory" "More college educated women who identify as Democrats voted for Trump than the other way around" Oh, you know, just two quotes I heard and read from reliable sources since the election. No big deal. NPR?

VW News: Meet the Volkswagen Golf, Version 7.5
ocnblu replied to William Maley's topic in Volkswagen
Not sure, but it is clear that despite the sad (hopefully temporary but probably not) loss of TDi here in the states, VW is not relinquishing the hatchback crown any time soon. -
Ford EcoSport To Make North America Debut At LA: Comments

It kinda does... I wonder if it will have a couple of tiny Ecoboosts, or a larger, NA 4, as this new European trend indicates. Ford might be the holdout, after all the money spent on EB. Maybe the 1.5 EB, as has been said. -
Ford EcoSport To Make North America Debut At LA: Comments

Well I am glad to hear this. I am sure this new one will have a spare under the load floor instead of on the liftgate. I am interested in seeing the new Fiesta and this Ecosport. -
Yes but olds, please note that those folks are on Ellis Island, where they were checked in by the USA. They are initiating the LEGAL process of becoming Americans! They are not sneaking anywhere. The clear difference here is LEGAL/ILLEGAL... why can't lefties see the difference?

Well I did have actual experience with my mother's, and I drove it plenty of times over the lease term. It was actually during my visits to her that the car got any real miles racked up on the odo.

When the status quo is too much to bear, especially with Hillary as his opponent, it was the easiest choice. Something had to be done about the wearying gridlock that was paralyzing Washington. If you check the House and Senate results, it would have been a guarantee that she would have had her hands tied... not what we need. I do need him to be neutral on social issues, but it is no doubt immigration needs a complete overhaul. What I hear in his comments on immigration is not racism, it is respect for law, two different things. He is against ILLEGAL immigration, not "Mexicans", but because our neighbors to the south comprise the largest part of the problem, he is focusing on them. Also, alternative energy will remain a thing, perhaps with more private money, which is good for all of us. Personally I hope CAFE rules are made totally flaccid. The market should decide what kind of vehicles are purchased... better for the economy. I do support emission controls, unless somebody wants me to tie a sail to my vehicle, then I am out. Some ppl are getting panties in an uproar over a Trump "dicktatorship", while at the same time they are partaking in the most childish, anti-American suppression of free speech and lawful election results. The problem is coming from the left... they are sore losers to the highest magnitude since the election, and in the time leading up to it. No one's lives are in peril in the least. I am registered Independent, and I voted for Obama once. Even though I accumutively disagree with a lot of his policies, he has had a relatively scandal-free tenure... with Bill Clinton's presidency, it was another scandal every week... sure to continue if his wife had been elected. The victory speech said it all for me.

Well the Soul has been a bright spot for Kia. My mother loved hers, but it was a lease, and she could not strike a deal on a replacement at the Kia dealer, that is when she went with the Versa Note. There is plenty of room in these, the back seat is big and the load area is high, making it nice for hauling. The hip point is ideal for ingress/egress, which is one reason why older folks love them. I would not own the Turbo because of the dual clutch transmission.

I've never heard so much whining over an election in all my life. Good grief people, get a grip! A lot of the senior members here know my story, NOT SCARED. Bunch of pearl clutchers. We'll be fine.

Maybe a Honda Fit EX manual. Certainly is a cavernous little beast. Some ppl are saying the lumbar is too strong. We have a '16 DX in the shop now, hit in the back and pushed into another car... surprisingly light damage. Black with CVT though.

Nice pictures! Yeah, a beagle will run for miles on the trail.

Was thinking I could build my own mild recreation of it. 2017 Trax AWD Premiere with 2016 Trax Midnight Edition wheels and off-road tires in the stock size. Maybe Summit White with the Brandy interior. The white would make a nice eye-popping contrast with the glossy black wheels, imo.

Just the latest example, a 2013 Santa Fe with 71k miles... engine rapping a death knell... technician is prepping it for engine replacement, says 71k is actually really good for a Hyundai engine... and I quote " just a trash design..."

I've wondered how it would look with an off-road treatment. This thing blows me away! NOW BUILD IT FOR ME, CHEVROLET!

I like these. I want to see the hatch version in person, it's on YouTube. I just cannot trust Hyundai for quality though.

2017 MINI Countryman Grows and Brings A Plug-In Hybrid: Comments
ocnblu replied to William Maley's topic in LA Auto Show
MINI, as a brand, is junk. Just like BMW. I just think it's funny that so many hybrids have been introduced to great fanfare, then soon after, they are dead and no one misses them. I could list them. Wanna hear it?- 31 replies

2017 MINI Countryman Grows and Brings A Plug-In Hybrid: Comments
ocnblu replied to William Maley's topic in LA Auto Show
We just fixed a '14 Jetta TDi this week. I was talking to the guy about the so-called "scandal". He says he is in love with his Jetta and he is keeping it. So he gets a check from VW for his imaginary troubles and gets to keep his beloved car... "50 MPG!" he says. I ASKED FOR THE TRUTH, MONSIGNOR! NOT SOME DANCE AROUND IT!- 31 replies

Does not answer the question there, skeeter. And Horsey, that would certainly be a babe magnet! Except it still basically depends on good ol' gasoline for motive power.- 31 replies
