Yeah, the Atlas is cheaper and dumbed down for the US market compared to the Touareg. -

Those were the 1st gen models, a long time ago. The current 3rd gen models of each are sufficiently differentiated. -

Those headlights look great in the closeup pic...I'm sure I'll like it in person. Love the interior. Looking forward to sitting in one at an auto show..looks like it would be a great road trip SUV. -

It would be in however they measure power for EVs...watts of output? Rods per hogshead? Liters per hectare? -
Or in Nissan terms, not a NISMO, GT-R or SE-R spec....just a basic pickup, torque counts for hauling stuff...

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
It all fits into software EULAs...like if you buy a used computer or phone..do you own any apps already on that phone or computer, or are entitled to software updates to the OS? Seems like a gray area... -
It does flow well with the lights..but it is a bit small for the current era..everything is about big grilles now...the new grille makes it look more related to the 300..

There is probably something in the fine print that gives Tesla the right to enable/disable features like this. -
It's hardly rocket surgery or anything new, the idea of solar charging for EV batteries has been around for a while... https://www.cnbc.com/2019/09/28/teslas-musk-rejects-solar-on-cars-its-not-stopping-toyota-hyundai.html

I could see the solar panel useful when parked in a lot like where I used to work in Chandler, AZ...10-12 hrs a day of sunshine in horrific triple digit heat day after day...

Yeah, with full size I can't see off-roading a new one...now with Jeeps, it's different... back in the day, I had my '00 Jeep Grand Cherokee on rocky back country trails outside Crested Butte and Aspen, Co a week after buying it new.. -

I liked the Art & Science styling quite a bit..esp. the sharp edges...in a world of lumpen blobular design, it stood out...the vertical headlights were a strong Cadillac styling cue, modern yet retro--harkening back to the stacked lights on the '65-68 Cadillacs. -
When they switch to BEV powertrains?

I can't imagine many people off road full size luxury SUVs..maybe .00000000001 percent of buyers... Land Rovers and Range Rovers maybe in the UK have off-roading fans, but not much in the US beyond the off-road image.. -

Those were just plastic appiques, though, right? Not actual changes to the sheetmetal (other than the front fenders and hood, I believe all 3 had the same metal). -

The IRS is a big improvement, Ford/Lincoln did it 12 years ago on the Expy/Nav...GM was being lazy with the old school solid axle...going to an IRS should improve the ride and lower the rear floor for more cargo and 3rd row legroom... -
Cadillac News: 2021 Cadillac Escalade Leaks Out
Robert Hall replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
If GM was interested in making the Escalade a unique luxury vehicle, it should share no side body panels with Chevy and GMC and have it's own unique styling...but they are too cheap to invest the coin to do that. Oddly, they do give the XT* Cadillac CUVs unique bodies compared to related Chevy/Buick/GM models---the XT6 doesn't resemble the Traverse or Acadia. There is nothing really wrong w/ the Escalade as it turned out, but it's still obviously a Chevy/GMC SUV with a different nose and added bling. -

There is a slight resemblance, but I bet the panels are all different... -
$36k for a subcompact w/ a 3-cyl. That's pretty effed up...

That seems to be the case... the front doesn't bother me as much as the bad C-pillar trim...but bad C-pillar trim is becoming a Cadillac thing, look at the CT5.
