    Anyway, back on track, it will be interesting to see where the PSA-FCA thing goes...wonder if it will get through regulatory hurdles in the several countries involved.

    I lived in Phoenix for 9 years.... May through September was usually horrible..usually was around 118 or so on my birthday (June 28th). There were maybe 5 months a year it was really nice, but usually still too warm at Thanksgving...I got tired of the constant sun and haze, lack of 4 distinct seasons. And got tired of $500/month electric bills in the summer. I do miss my pool, though. Did enjoy going up to Prescott, Sedona, the drive through Jerome and Oak Creek Canyon to Flagstaff... As far as So Cal, mostly went to the beach towns. Mostly San Diego, Del Mar, Dana Point, Huntington Beach, Santa Monica....Long Beach several times for the Indy Car race. Though at Fontana for the Indy Car races in Sept-Oct a couple times it was hotter than Phoenix. Occasionally went up north to Sonoma and Laguna Seca for motorsports events.

    Maybe 5 years ago when sedans still sold well. It is a sharp car though.

    I've stuck w/ Hertz the last 5 years or so...used to use Enterprise when I lived in Phoenix, had an Enterprise location about a mile from my house, used to rent from them for long weekends to drive over to So Cal to escape the vile summer heat...

    Yeah, much the same as Hertz #1 Club Gold.. I just reserve by category and pick one from the row..

    I always find it irritating w/ rental car companies that I have to specify a 'premium' or 'standard' size to get an actual full size car. Though on more than one occasion they didn't have a full size car in stock and I've ended up with a Tahoe, Yukon or Escalade... though I don't mind those.

    I could see the Peugeot and Citroen crossovers appealing in the US, what I'd like to see would be DS...their models have some interesting designs. I can't see Opel coming here.

    Rental car companies use invalid size categorizations.

    Large car is synonymous with full size, the 300 is a full size that is smaller than the CT6...there are variations within the full size category, always have been...just like in olden days how a GM C-body was bigger inside and out than a B-body. Both were full size platforms. And I wasn't comparing the 300 w/ the CT6 in terms of price or content; just that they are both full size sedans, as is the Taurus, Merc S-class, Impala, LaCrosse, XTS, Avalon, 7-series, etc...all different price points and content levels and dimensions...

    The FWD was in reference to the Impala, which is also a full size model, but with a rather short wheelbase. (XTS has the wheelbase IIRC)

    Will be interesting to see if this goes through or collapses. Yeah, GM globally had at least 12 brands (US, Europe and Australia) less than 20 years ago..

    Never seen it referred to as a midsize. Always seen it classified as full size.

    The 300 is a full size. The wheelbase is only a couple inches shorter than the CT6. It just has shorter overhangs. In fact, the wheelbase is about 9 inches longer than the full size Impala. The weight is fine.

    Way cool...retro futuristic design...got me thinking it's time for GM to build a new Futureliner concept.

    Enjoying the fall weather...cool at night, 50s-60s during the day..trees in color and leaves falling.... first pic from my backyard yesterday, other pics from a local beach I visited yesterday after work.

    A smaller Enclave would fill the niche between the Envision and the NA Enclave.

    Depends on the car...I like manuals in sporty cars, and like modern automatics in daily drivers.

    The current Leaf is a big improvement over the first generation..kind of looks like a sleeker Bolt in profile.

    It's not a truck, so you would have no practical or business use for it. Couldn't rationally justify the cost. And it's not 50-60 years old--too new and modern for you.

    Sitting in a parking lot, I noticed a small black CUV one spot over from me that I didn’t recognize. Wasn’t until I backed out and saw the tailgate badging that I realized it was the new Escape. Didn’t realize they were out already.

    The A-class in Europe is mostly just hatchbacks...competitor for the BMW 1-series and A3...premium brand, not sure how premium the product is..

    Or flattop... the flattop would have made in interesting alternate 2dr ht roofline. It's similar to the '59-60 4dr ht roof. 'batwing' I've heard used to refer to the finned '59 and '60 Chevy rear ends...

    Chevy and Cadillac don't put their names on their cars either, just the badge.
