  1. Hmmm... I don't see that button. All I see is Link and Image. I know I used to be able to do this, but it seems to have changed w/ the last update.
  2. I thought this used to work, I've done it before...but there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to embed a YouTube video in a post...if I put the URL of the video in a link I end up with a link...
  3. Brian Eno's 'An Ending (Ascent)'. This track is 30 years old, I discovered it a few years ago when it was used in Top Gear (actually in 2 episodes). Magnificent and moving... this is a track I can listen to over and over
  4. If I was shopping in this price point, I'd rather have a larger low mileage used car...these subcompacts are just so depressing for the most part.
  5. Lots of possibilities.
  6. The future is coming....
  7. Saw a very sad looking modified Buick Lucerne today--looked like it had been modded by someone with no taste that was blind. Had blingy chrome spoked wheels on wide whitewall tires sticking 3-4 inches out of the wheelwells, and the whole car was painted a nasty flourescent blue that looked like it had been applied w/ a paint brush--over the tailights, grille, trim, etc..
  8. Yeah, that ones a must for me...I need to order some of these from my favorite vendors (milezone.com and 1stopdiecast.com have 'em, I think)..
  9. I haven't used the maps much on ios7 yet. I recall being in San Francisco a while back w/ coworkers and one of my colleagues looked up a bar on his ios6 phone and it mapped into the middle of the bay. I found the bar just fine w/ Google maps on my Android phone. Will be in SF again next week for a conference, will have to test ios7 maps....
  10. They need to chrome the big bulging wheel arches and maybe the lower parts of the doors..
  11. Maybe even a VW Up! based city car, ala the Aston Martin Cygnet.. The possibilities in the brand expansion arms race are endless...Over at Rolls Royce, maybe a Mini-based city car eventually?
  12. Beck is an American Idiot. Unfortunately, there are so many of them on the right.. Yep, the rabble rousers have been working up the marginalized losers...the 'left behind' crowd clinging to their religion and guns...the 21st century has no place for them, and they can't evolve.
  13. Bullitt, Vanishing Point, Duel, Blues Brothers, The Driver, Ronin are all favorites of mine. Films that had a great chase but weren't really 'car films' that I like include French Connection, The Seven Ups, and To Live and Die in LA. Racing-themed films that I love are Grand Prix, Le Mans, Winning...looking forward to Rush.
  14. Side profile reminds me of the Fusion..
  15. I couldn't imagine getting a Windows phone or tablet...
  16. Yeah, Teslas are all over here in the PHX metro..see quite a few Volts also. Saw plenty of Teslas and a few Fiskers over the weekend in the San Diego area, didn't see 1 Volt...
  17. Filled up with gas this morning
  18. Saw a wide variety of interesting cars over the weekend in San Diego (see Coronado Speed Festival thread), one interesting one I didn't photograph was a Solstice that someone had customized with Alfa Romeo trim-- reworked nose with Alfa grille, Alfa badging inside and out....tastefully done.
  19. I went to the Coronado Speed Festival this past weekend, at Coronado Island/North Island NAS in San Diego. Had a great weekend, saw a bunch of neat vintage race cars, some racing, and a variety of interesting street cars on show. A little of bit of everything--lots of Porsches since the 911 was featured marque, '70s Datsun race cars, some vintage Trans Am cars, NASCAR cars, Can Am cars, open wheel race cars. Got to meet Tony Adamowicz, great guy to chat with. here's a few pics.. More pics at my Fotki album here http://public.fotki....ado-speed-fest/
  20. I've been using Androids since the G1 Dream... on beta versions, stable versions and Cyanogen versions... freezing, crashing, etc. have been very rare. That said, I have only used Android on good phones... there are a lot of Androids out there that are designed to be bargain specials... and I steer clear of them. My G1 still lives actually... Ran Froyo with it for a bit... then rolled back to 1.6. The G1 runs a pure Android experience, which is why you've had few issues. Any issues with Android are typically the fault of brands like Samsung or HTC who put their own skins and software on top of the core OS, which causes a lot of issues. For example, my Note 2 does have occasions where it heavily lags due to Samsung's TouchWiz software. My buddy's Note 2 which runs ParanoidAndroid, is amazingly quick, no matter what. So I've heard...our phones have been Motorola Droids (Droid 1, 2, 3 and Razr Maxx HD) (Verizon) and the tabbys Kindle Fire HDs (which run a forked version of Android 4.0).
  21. The instability I've observed w/ the 2 Android phones and tablet I've had (and my sister's phones and tablet) does concern me w/ Android in general, though..freezing, crashing, the screen going blank randomly, non-responsive apps, etc. The Apple products I've used just seem to work.
  22. One consideration would be do you have a place to park a crew cab like that? Huge truck..
  23. I updated my work iPhone 5 to ios7 last night...it's...different. The icons have a bright, almost cartoony appearance to them now.
  24. Depends on if you can sustain your current debt load to pay off the Charger (dump the Jeep IMO--project cars are a money pit, no better than lighting money on fire). Otherwise, trading down to an older vehicle with higher mileage (and unknown history/reliability) seems like a big mistake to me...the devil you know is better than the unknown potential despair of a used car.
  25. Kind of an anonymous, anycar silhouette in the disguised form...will be interesting to see how it looks for real..
