Canadian politician or something? Edit: I think that's Rob Ford, the Mayor of Toronto...who has issues. Though I don't see the correlation to BC (even as an American, I know that BC is a long way from Ontario). It's too bad Chris Farley is desceased, I could see him playing Ford on SNL...

I absolutely hate the term "double cab". To me double cab = crew cab, not an extended cab (which half a crew cab is). GM should have stayed with extended cab regardless of the way the door opens. It's been extended cab since they came out in 1987 as new '88 models. Why change that now? No idea...Ford still calls theirs a 'Super Cab' after 40 years (I wonder if the next F150 will go to front hinged doors for this bodystyle?), Ram calls it a 'Quad Cab' (Ram has 4 cab styles)..IIRC, Dodge used to call it a Club Cab before it gained the 2nd set of doors. 'double cab' makes me think of the old VW bus-based pickup bodystyle or Toyota and Nissan pickups, which have called their crew cabs a 'double cab' forever, I think...

Marchionne: New Five-Year Plan For Alfa Romeo :Comments
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Alfa Romeo
Yes..the size and heft is a big part of the appeal of those cars to me. They aren't about light and nimble. The thing is, even though the LX cars are large, they can still dance. The Charger R/T is a better dancer than the 300C of course, but people have to compare them to cars of the same size, not just cars of the same price. Oh yeah, they definitely aren't old school full size floaters... I've only driven a V6 300 of this generation, but it drove quite nicely a couple years ago around a variety of roads over a long weekend in N. California...- 9 replies

Saw a silver Nissan NV200 this morning, first one I'd seen..

It's odd for certain...I don't like the idea of specific models for rental car fleets. I should be able to rent anything in an automaker's current lineup. As far as the '06-up W-Impala, I've probably rental driven at least a dozen or more of these over the years...I actually like them, decent driving car, nothing fancy but nothing awful either.

If it runs through 2016 they will definitely have gotten their investment back out of the W-body...wow...long run, many incarnations.

Exclusive Saks Fifth Avenue Limited Edition ELR

$89,500.00 according to someone on a Volt forum that called the SFA number. I bet there will be one auctioned at Barrett-Jackson Scottdale in Jan... -
Call it the Chevy Classic, Chevy Generica....or one of the old low line trims from the '60s-70s--Biscayne or Bel Air.

Cadillac News: Rumorpile: Cadillac's Three-Row Crossover Is A Go
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
The problem is they inexplicably cut the wheelbase by around 5 inches from Epsilon to Epsilon II. Big mistake. I have to disagree, if you drop it that much you have a station wagon at car ride height. CUV's should ride higher than cars. Or have height adjustable suspension. For on-road good weather driving it's better to have it as low as possible, and to ease ingress/egress..remember, this is a CUV, not an SUV...closer to a minivan in function and purpose. -
It's too bad GM doesn't have a US market V6 or V8 diesel (a V8 with the dimensions of the SBC).
-
I'd like something a bit larger than a Jetta though... and that is the old body jetta, not the new one. yes, the nice one before the decontented current sedan. It's too bad the Passat wagon isn't still offered in NA.
-
Except for the AWD, I think you can get all those elements in the Jetta wagon. Diesels are great...wouldn't mind having another someday..... though what I'd like see in a diesel is unlikely to happen.

Industry News: Eight States Sign A Pact To Increase EV Sales

You are seriously delusional. CNG is not delusional, the infastructure in place is wide spread and anyone with natural gas at their home or business can install a fueling appliance and gas at home or work. No need for expensive stations. If CNG was delusional then why is the train industry converting over their diesel generators to CNG and the trucking industry is moving to CNG. On top of this is the marine industry is moving to have large ships go to LNG compared to Diesel. NG is a valid fuel option. All I am asking for is if they want to give tax breaks to Electric, then also allow it for BioDiesel or CNG auto's also. I didn't say CNG was delusional...it was about your 2nd sentence..that is paranoid delusional conspiracy theorist BS.- 58 replies

LA Auto Show: Range Rover Introduces A Stretched Version
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in LA Auto Show
The Evoque looks like it's trying to be a Mini...the chop top is too exaggerated, IMO, with the 2-inch high rear window opening. The only LR/RR product I really like is the Defender, but alas it's not sold in the US anymore. -

Sticker price will be about $225k I've heard. -
BMW, at least that was what the GTO and G8 aspired to be. Which were the best cars the brand had had in a looooong time, after years of ugly tarted up FWD models and the hideous plasticky 4th gen Firebird.
