  1. I like it..a very clean coupe design..would be nice to see a Volvo coupe again. Some neat detailing, like the taillights.
  2. My work laptop has a sunset at Huntington Beach photo and my home laptop has a Colorado wilderness photo, both to distract me from the vile Arizona summer reality
  3. Saw a clean early '90s Caddy Allante in a teal which was a very popular color across many car makers in the early to mid '90s. Also saw a wrecked white Hummer H3T on a flatbed, that's first H3T I've seen IIRC since I saw a carhauler full of them when they first came out a few years ago ('08?)
  4. Sweet...didn't they do a similar concept like this back around the time of the G8? Would be nice to see GM make more coupes...but the market just isn't there, it seems.
  5. Funny to see a Portuguese flag there as we haven't seen Oldsmobile for sale here ever since my dad was young (he was born 1943) GM was in a delusional phase in the '80s...they thought by painting the trim black on the mediocre FWD A-bodies made them European...
  6. The wheel and dash of the Impala just seems too busy to me. Not a very interesting design.
  7. It's good so far..up into the Chrysler era now. The chapters on Phil Caldwell and Red Poling at Ford were pretty funny..
  8. Probably best to kill it with fire or go straight to the crusher..what a pile.
  9. Historically, Jaguar's engines were straight 6s...the V12s were low volume and the V8 is a relatively recent development. Alas, they don't have straight 6s anymore, so they've already lost their iconic engine and seem to be doing ok.
  10. In fairness to other long cars out there, the DTS has an unusually large turning radius for its size. I've noticed that..the parking spaces are also narrow, narrower than the regular uncovered ones in the lot and the area I'm backing out into is rather narrow--a row of covered parking along the back of the lot with the back of an office building across from the spaces, barely 2 lanes between the parking row and the building.
  11. Cool..I sat in one of these at Barrett-Jackson back in January and was surprised at how nice it was inside, considering how tiny it is..seems like GM did a quality job on it.
  12. Drugs, I guess..or they were 'inspired' by the crap in the Deathrace movies...
  13. It's been modified a bit, a fixer-upper.. http://jalopnik.com/for-6-999-this-is-why-we-can-t-have-nice-things-1177320209?utm_campaign=socialflow_jalopnik_facebook&utm_source=jalopnik_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow
  14. Speaking of size, 207" long and 74.5" wide definitely seems huge compared to my relatively small Jeep at my office's new reserved covered parking spots..esp. with pillars in every space they feel very narrow, and backing out it is a 2-3 point turn (been driving the DTS quite a bit lately).
  15. Schiller-Nacht Flug (Night Flight)...chill out music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NuOYz407ASI
  16. Wolfsheim. German retro sythpop...fun stuff. Once in a Lifetime Find You're Gone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4su-e6Adg3Q
  17. They will... http://online.wsj.com/article/PR-CO-20130820-909267.html
  18. Nice...by the way, Auto World is a Tom Lowe venture, the man behind the Johnny Lightning revival in the '90s and Round 2 which has resurrected the classic AMT, MPC, and now Lindberg model kit brands.
  19. Well, offering a FWD entry level model would be consistent w/ the approach MB has and BMW is moving towards...the younger buyers at the entry level price point are use to FWD appliances and not discerning enough to demand RWD...so if Jag wants to pander to the indifferent masses, this is how they have to go..
  20. I like that upswept trim line..it's distinctive.
  21. And came back for '69 (300), '79 (Cordoba 300 edition) and in '83 on the Cordoba..
  22. Yes..what is interesting is the crosshair grille was originally a Chrysler grille (early 60s 300, for example) before Dodge started using their own version of it in 1985.
  23. Neat how the headlights, grille and taillights differ between the non-RS and RS.
  24. I like AAA for the stuck on the side of the freeway w/ a shredded tire in nasty weather scenario....when that happened, AAA was there quickly and got the spare on quickly. As far as replacing the shredded tire, that's what tire shops do... (or patching a flat). Or for getting tows..which is an unfortunate occasional occurrence when driving a 13 yr old vehicle w/ over 100k miles (towed 3 times in the last 4 years)...AAA is great for that.
  25. True enough...years ago before I had AAA, I changed flat tires myself more than once.
