  1. As cheap as it is w/ the rust, it would make a good winter beater, if the mileage is accurate.
  2. Yeah...look at all that bare painted metal inside...very old school..not even a headliner. Probably very noisy inside at freeway speeds.
  3. Could it be the Mercedes overtones? I do see a lot of 'Art and Science + Mercedes proportions' here..... I like how it looks distinctly RWD...you wouldn't confuse this w/ a FWD model. The greenhouse is very Mercedes to me, the side window treatment is very similar to the current C- and E-class...I would have preferred more angular cutlines for the upper door openings like the current CTS...but all in all, I like it. I hope they do a coupe and convertible.
  4. The 500L should have been the 600, to use an old Fiat people mover name. They should bring the Panda here for the crossover. Create distinct identities for each model.
  5. Looks solid. Would be a nice project car to swap a modern drivetrain into..I love that era of big Cadillac.
  6. Seeing the full car now, quite impressive..looking forward to seeing it in person.
  7. Saw a sharp dark red '56 Lincoln MK II w/ whitewalls and no hubcaps parked in a driveway this morning...
  8. Some of the Raptors around here look like they have actually been taken off road out in the desert or up in the mountains... I've seen ones w/ lots of mud, dents, scratches...
  9. Sweet Impala...I always liked the look of the '77-79 coupes..
  10. Sharp car...interesting wheels...wonder what those are..
  11. Agreed it is pointless to argue about turbo count or installation configuration--GM has figured out what is appropriate for their usage of this engine in various models. As far as the '14 CTS goes, it looks pretty cool in the new teaser photos out there today...what do you all think?
  12. Let's see, they are building them at a plant in a crime-ridden third world country. You can't expect high quality from an environment like that.
  13. No ugly car list is complete w/o the '48 Tucker..a hideous beast. Or the '61 Plymouths and '61 Dodges, which had ugly front ends with weird reversed fins out back.
  14. One older economy car I never see are Escorts, except for the later ZX2s which conintued after the Focus came out. The Mercury Tracer, haven't seen one in years. I think import economy cars have long outsold domestics around here, about the only older (> 10 years) econo cars I see frequently are Civics and Corollas. Any older Cavaliers, etc I see are usually rolling wrecks, completely worn out. Early Saturns are a very rare sight also.
  15. A full size 2dr SUV w/ a manual...got to be rare...
  16. 4x4 trucks need power folding step ladders..
  17. Who knows? Maybe some day the words of Sir Mix A Lot will be prophetic.. 'Got it goin' like a turbo 'Vette'
  18. The Wrangler (and maybe the Ram) is the only one I'd be interested in driving. The rest are of zero interest to me.
  19. Are they addressing all aspects or are they just addressing pure numbers? Too often people do not address the marketing aspect or the fact GM wants to take these cars globally where customers thinking is much different than it is here. Many places a V8 is not look upon as it is here. Also there at tax factors in play in other counties too. Just as Cadillac needs a Diesel overseas they need to address the gas engine to fit the wants and needs of the customer too. Not really...one of the guys is from Michigan and his view is always that a V8 improves anything.
  20. Funny thing....I'm listening to the latest Autoblog podcast and they are discussing the next CTS and this engine.....two of guys on the podcast are having the same debate we saw here w/ Camino---about the gas mileage and comparing the TT V6 to a V8....
  21. I enjoyed my trip to Downtown Phoenix and Scottsdale last November 29 through December 2 mainly because of the vehicles I got to see still as daily drivers (the car show in Scottsdale was fantastic). There were so many "classic" cars and trucks being driven around as daily's that I never see here in the Northeast except for car shows. Truly a wonderful addition to my work trip. The owner of a local boutique furniture store that I've bought a couple pieces from drives a '59 Chrysler Imperial 2dt ht, a Saab Sonnet hatchback, and a '70s Saab 99 Turbo, all in similar faded red colors...saw the Imperial in traffic twice this week going home....it's a hoot to see that giant beast next to a Prius at a traffic light.
  22. Boy racer hooligans...Fast and Furious fans...got them here too. Most the Neons I see are of the worn out, faded paint but still on the road variety..
