  3. As far as the Malibu and Impala, IMO GM goofed on the Epsilon II wheelbases...don't know why there are so short in both SWB and LWB versions compared to the platforms they replaced. I assume the short wheelbases and narrowness is partially due to Epsilon II being a global platform.

  5. I assume the pricing reflects the low mileage (for it's age) and good condition....most used cars that old are worn out w/ over 100k miles.

  11. Speaking of tiny cars, I was sitting at an intersection tonight...there was a Smart car behind me, a sweet '60s vintage Mini (LHD, red, w/ a pair of big rally style driving lights) in the left turn lane across from me, with a modern Mini (also red) beside it...the vintage one was so small...

It is interesting to look at the cottage industry micro cars and trucks that were built in small numbers throughout the '50s-60s...it's like they existed in a car market completely removed from the big 3 world of longer, lower wider and V8s and bigness...I'm trying to remember the name of the small Ohio company that made a tiny 4 wheel car..I've seen ads for it in old Popular Science magazine. (not Crosley).

  17. Hmmm '40s: '49 Olds 88 or '49 Cadillacs '50s: Olds ('57 88 in particular) '60s: each division had it's high points, IMO... Chevy ('63-67 Corvette), Pontiac (Grand Prix, GTO, Bonneville of various years), Buick ('63-65 Riv, '66-67 Riv), Cadillac ('67-69 Eldorado), Olds (Toronado) '70s:'71-72 Grand Prix, '71-72 Riviera would be high points for me, '70-73 Firebirds 80s:'79-85 E-bodies, '80-85 Seville, the '81-87 G coupes '90s: '92-97 Seville/STS, '98-99 Seville STS, Aurora, '96-99 Riv '00s:'08+ Caddy CTS '10s: Camaro, Cadillac ATS & CTS
  18. It seems like the ELR's biggest competition will be the CTS coupe in the same showroom.
  19. Saw a bronze '72 Plymouth Duster ('72 had a unique taillight treatment), and a yellow w/ black graphics '72 Dodge Demon on the freeway this morning....it's a rare sight to see 1 40 yr old car on the daily grind, let alone 2, and both A-body Mopies...wow.
  20. That Astra OPC is one slick package...it's too bad automakers don't sell 3dr hatchbacks in the US anymore.

  24. Not sure if I like the blunt new front of the Acacia..that grille looks massive and the recessed area of the hood looks odd. I like the lights and smaller grille of the current model. Looks like that, it says 7-passenger seating on the window sticker.
