    I've been happy w/ the 4.0L 6 in my Grand Cherokee....put 140k miles on it so far...had to replace some accessories and misc stuff (coil packs, sensors, water pump, etc) but it's been pretty reliable.

    4drs are just so much easier to get in and out of in parking garages (where is seem to park most of the time), and I always put my backpack w/ laptop for work in the back seat..easier to get it out by opening a door than the old fold & slide w/ a 2dr... but for a sporty car or fun car, I like 2drs...I've had a few over the years (Mustangs and an M3). I used to believe that myself till I bought the 2008 Trailblazer SS and now am sold on performance 4 doors. No 4dr performance convertibles these days, though. For my mid 40s crisis car, I'm thinking Mustang GT convertible, Camaro SS convertible, or late model Boxster.

    I like the lighting...the ATS has some rounding of the edges, but still pretty pointy.

    Practicality usually always wins. True for families, 4 doors will always win and youth with active life styles seem to rather have 4 doors than two. The two door CUV's, SUV's etc are going to the history bin. Thought I do love me a 2 door Yukon GT! About 15 years ago when I had my Bronco II, i was looking at buying a full size Bronco or 2dr Tahoe. But I prefer the practicality of 4drs since i got my Grand Cherokee.

    Nice...just need some 'Mr Plow' decals for the doors and you are ready for the winter...

    Can't really tell from the race car panels, but the Commodore refresh from what I've read may have an updated nose and tail, but the midsection (roof, greenhouse, doors) should be the same as the current model...it's not a total redesign. I assume the Chevy and Commodore versions will differ in the fascias and maybe the hood. Anyhoo, I assume all will be revealed in the next 90 days..

    I could see that...the subcompact 5dr wagon/cuv niche seems to be growing (Mini Countryman, Encore, etc)

    yeah yeah..that's why I qualified it with 'similar'. Those are fairly realistic stickers.

    So basically picture a G8 with lighting and front fascia similar to the race cars..

    The previous Batmobiles have been too big to be nimble in the crowded streets of Gotham, this will work perfectly...

    Sounds like this one is for the eco kiddies.... BMW still has the serious stuff for drivers (M models) and the regular models for the stereotypical pricks.

    Huh? I thought BMW's compact and subcompact stuff was all going to be FWD....

    Paint it flat black and it can be the new Batmobile (since Bruce Wayne is broke now, he has to economize).

    They will probably do a wagon of some sort for markets where people buy wagons (not the US).

    Saw a white '65 Shelby GT350 in traffic this morning, pretty sure it was the real deal and not a clone. Saw this afternoon the first new Camaro ZL1 I've seen in the wild, white w/ black wheels...very sharp. Also saw a Porsche 924 Turbo (the ones w/ the offset hood scoop) in a strange brown, parts of the paint were textured like spackle paint.

    The 500L seems to be their Mini Countryman competitor (5dr hatch).

    There are some elements of my youth I miss...tractors, Snapper riding mowers, Winnebagos.

    No different that in the software biz in jumping from a big, established company to a hot startup. Take some risk on something new for a potential big reward..

    General thoughts on ergonomics, interior room, outward visibility, cupholder design? Steering feel?

    This looks a lot like the 2010 my Dad had, but ours wasn't as rusty.. I was driving it when I was 12--30 years ago! Seems so long ago and far away.
