  1. Something like this (Falcon Boss 315) with a more subtle front end would be nice..
  2. Hopefully the next CTS will get it's own steering wheel...that prototype wheel looks like a '13 Malibu wheel w/ extra chrome.
  3. Both the Epsilon II SWB and LWB versions have wheelbases shorter than the new Fusion.. 107.x and 111.x are too short for midsize or full size cars.
  4. Very cool...my Mom will probably be doing something like that in 20 years, still driving her '67-68 Cougars and Lincoln Navigator (she's a healthy 81). Her mother lived to 98..
  5. I saw the '13 first at Barrett-Jackson in January and a couple since then..overall, I like the exterior and interior, but the dumbest mistake was cutting the wheelbase by 5 inches. Epsilon II SWB and LWB both have wheelbases way too short for midsize and full size cars...
  6. She's a threat to the public at large..needs her licence revoked.
  7. Ah...trucks. Apples and oranges, can't compare engine choices in trucks w/ those of luxury sedans..different niche. If the CTS is going to be competing against models like the E-class and 5-series it's going to come up short without a regular (non-V series) V8 version..needs a DOHC V8. The Lexus GS is trying to go without a V8 option but it's going to go nowhere against the big boys...
  8. Ford ~ 302 V8 :: 360 HP @ 5500, 380 TRQ @ 4250 214 V6 :: 365 HP @ 5000, 420 TRQ @ 2500 Nope, no competing there. ? Which 5.0? The Mustang 5.0 is over 400hp. What's a '214' V6?
  9. And it's a V8...you can't compete w/ a V8 w/ a V6... Yes you can, Lincoln says so. When the MKS Ecoboost came out, they said it was better than the V8s from the imports. And the MKS has been very sucessful... oh wait, nevermind. Yeah, just marketing blather... the MKS competes against the ES and XTS, which are also FWD w/ V6.
  10. And it's a V8...you can't compete w/ a V8 w/ a V6...
  11. And with the thick pillars and tiny windows of today's cars, you may not see them until after you hit 'em...though rear view cameras and proximity sensors help.
  12. Not sure..I see the reflection of the branches and leaves on the top center of the windshield...and there is either or a branch or a C-pillar visible (slanting straight line where hte C-pillar should be). I think the roof is either rusted or painted black..don't see any red where the top of the roof would be.
  13. The Caddy seems to be the least chromed...the others all have way more... I just can't get into the styling of that era, too tall and overdecorated, IMO. Lower-longer-wider is much more appealing to me....I find lots of interesting GM B/C body designs in the '61-64, '65-70, '71-76, and '77-8x generations..
  14. Would be nice, but I don't see that happening...it seems most Americans today want small, bland silver or white FWD sedans w/ automatics. The coupe market (beyond a small sporty/performance niche and a smaller luxury niche) is dead. I disagree with you Cubical. Right now the Coupe market is taking a breather. Just like everything, there is a cycle and people might be focused on families and CUV's but lots of people as kids get out of the house look to have a fun coupe to drive. I know I will be considering one in the near future depending on what is available. We'll see...it seems like a long term trend as far as coupes going away...a lot fewer now than 10, 20, 30 years ago...
  15. convertible: coupe:

  17. Well, nothing in the ad said it was a convertible, and that looks like a coupe A-pillar to me (convertibles had all chrome trim on the A-pillar).
  18. Red one looks to be a coupe also, w/ a back window rolled down (roof obscured by the tree).
  19. Well, the Astra has a hardtop coupe/cabriolet coming, that would be nice to see as a Verano.
  20. I wonder if it's been sitting open for 10 years...
  21. Just saw a dark gray fr_s...first one I've seen...sweet...
  22. Interesting... I'm on the fence w/ iPhones, thinking I may swing that way w/ my next phone. I've liked my Android device overall, but it has a lot of issues and frustrations that sometimes push me to point of wanting to smash it...
  23. Nope..the '62 bubbletops were only '62 Chevy Bel Airs (Impala used the more formal 2dr coupe roofline). Though supposedly 2 Pontiac Catalina bubbletop coupes were built for drag racing. Here's an article about a phantom.. http://www.carcraft.com/featuredvehicles/ccrp_0806_1962_pontiac_catalina/viewall.html
  24. One phantom I've seen a few pics of that people have built are '62 Catalina bubbletops...that roofline looks really good w/ the '62's lines, IMO..
  25. The '61s and '62s are some of my favorite B-bodies...love the '61 bubbletop roof, the rears on the Chevys those years, the '61 Olds front and rear (love those sexy skegs), the '61 and '62 Pontiac front and rear (esp. the '62 taillights), the '61 Buick rear... similarly, I like the '65-66s the most of the '65-70 B-body generation...
