  1. Yeah, no ocean, but San Diego or LA is only a couple hour flight..that's what I've done for years..
  2. Interesting...I put West.. will have to try East and see what it comes up with. The climate is the main turn off for me for the East...harsh winters and humid summers.
  3. That looks very similar to my results, though mine had LA and Portland instead of Austin and Denver. Phoenix, IMHO, looses it's appeal fast w/ the triple digit 'summer' (May-Sept) temps and the hazy silver summer skies, and ugly beige desert surroundings. Not clear, bright blue skies like high altitude Colorado Springs or Denver..
  4. Mine came up with Honolulu, Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, and San Diego as the top choices. Been to all, I like aspects of all of them, some more than others. I've lived in Colorado Springs, beautiful location, but Denver fits me much better.
  5. Yes...a single standard is the way to go.
  6. Ewwww.....TMI
  7. Looks like some unscheduled downtime last night...kept getting 'IPS Driver Error'.
  8. I like it... I've used it off and on for a while. Not as strong as the Prozac I used when I was in PhD hell in '96.
  9. Cool...I read the Dice and Monster postings all the time from Denver, Portland, and Seattle. And Columbus and Pittsburgh. Seems to always be more cube action in those areas than the Valley of the Sun.
  10. Let's see: Boring but well paying contract w/ big stable bank. Work is very dull right now. Seeing lots of layoffs in tech industry, but lots of companies still hiring Long but easy commute Recession, constant doom and gloom in the news (tuning out) Auto industry meltdown depressing Summer is here. 5 months of 100F+ degree days ahead. Joy Joy. Truly growing to hate AZ for many reasons. Must accelerate exit strategy. Family squabbles. 401(k)/IRA etc losses/non growth. Looking forward to mini-vacation this weekend in Ohio, and a week off at the end of June beginning of July. Not sleeping well. Getting stress-induced psoriasis. Cranking up Ambien dosage. Cranking up Zoloft dosage. Have to go see chiro for pinched nerve in back.
  11. Nice.. when I saw the thread title, I thought it was going to be a video of a tank running over the Vette.
  12. Good to know... will have to rent one sometime. I rented a V6 4th gen from Avis back around '98.
  13. lager
  14. bitey beasts
  15. Driving out of my neighborhood this morning, I was behind a silver Hyundai XG350..nothing special, but the vanity plate was great: KRNBCK. (Korean Buick, I assume?)
  16. Ahh...typo. friends. response to thread: rafting
  17. I've seen a couple on the road, a black one and an orange one..they are actually rather cool looking, IMHO.
  18. Probably the same reason they had a Cavalier and a Sunbird/Sunfire, a Cobalt and a G5...the Pontiac dealers demanded it..
  19. Schlongcopter... pretty funny
  20. Ahh..yes, good beer in Portland..all the McMenamins places for example..... I've been to the Blue Moon Tavern and Grill a couple times w/ friends.. Thread answer: rivers
  21. Similarly for me, yesterday was zombie woman in a white Corolla day... driving down the freeway yesterday morning, a white previous gen Corolla cut across 4 lanes of traffic w/ no signal to exit in front of me, and later in the day, almost got hit in the parking lot at work by another white previous gen Corolla, zombie driver yakking on her phone..
  22. I've seen five xBs today, 2 1st gen and 3 second gens. And a TC. And possibly Toyota's ugliest current model, a 2nd gen Matrix parked next to the equally ugly Yaris hatchback. And an uncountable # of Camrys and Corollas.
  23. Iron City (beer) (I remember visiting Pittsburgh often as a kid in the late '70s, and after seeing it in recent years, it's had quite the renewal, I think).
  24. Pittsburgh
  25. wow...how do you see so many oldies on a Wednesday? All I usually ever see on Wednesdays are mostly forgettable modern cars on the freeways and in parking lots. To see that many oldies in one day, I'd have to be at a weekend car show.
