  1. Hmmm.... new--Ford (Mustang GT), a Dodge Challenger, a Jeep (another Grand Cherokee), or used Lincolns, Mercedes or BMWs, probably. The GMs I'm most interested in are the CTS, Camaro and G8.
  2. Yes, the Yaris is in the same class as the Aveo and other cheap sh*tboxes. The Cobalt's competitors from Toyota are the Corolla and tC.

    I saw...

In San Francisco at JavaOne in '99, I saw Scott McNealy (Sun CEO) and Steve Jobs having lunch in a restaurant, later literally ran into McNealy coming out of a bathroom in Moscone Center. I've seen John Elway several times in restaurants in Denver, sat at a table next to him a couple of times.. Saw Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey at a BBQ restaurant a couple years ago, driving an Aston Martin DB7 convertible. Saw former Senator Gary Hart on an airplane once. Saw Stevie Nicks at a gas station in Scottsdale a few years ago. Saw actress Linda Gray ('Dallas') in the Southwest line at Phoenix's Sky Harbor Airport a couple years ago. Met actors Gregory Harrison, Stephanie Zimbalist, and John Bennett Perry (Matthew Perry's dad) when a TV miniseries was being filmed on my family's farm in Ohio 32 years ago..
  4. I like it..great RWD proportions, flowing lines. The C-pillar detailing and quarter window are a bit unconventional, but interesting...like the gauge detailing. Love the wheels... Don't like the wierd steering wheel shape.
  5. Quite the accomplishment for the Rickstr
  6. Yes.
  7. Was out and about this morning, several interesting sightings...a red '66 Ford stepside pickup, a white '64-65 Ford longbed pickup, towing a yard service trailer, a light blue early '60s Ford Econoline window van with 'Falcon' badging, and a clean white '68-69 Ford longbed pickup. For older GMs, saw a sharp pale yellow '75-76 Caddy Coupe de Ville w/ no vinyl top--and what was most unusual about was the driver--a very cute 25 or so year old redhead wearing tiny cool rectangular glasses. Just very unusual to see an attractive young woman not in the usual Civic, Camry, New Beetle, etc but in a classic land yacht.
  8. Buick only has 3 models now.. I would think they would need something else besides the '10 LaCrosse and Enclave..
  9. Wasn't there some talk a while back about the Chinese Regal coming here (i.e. the Insignia variation) as the smaller Buick sedan?

    I'm a little over 16 stone..
  11. That would be interesting..no doubt a lot of work and $$$...I'd love to see an Intrepid SRT8, for example..
  12. Yeah, I've thought before that I was an 'extroverted introvert'... Careers that were listed as ideal for ENTP's were engineering and IT, which fit well for me...
  13. Found this article on Allpar about the 2.7, mentions the sludge.. Chrysler V6s
  14. Thanks for the link, dfelt. Took the test (first time), came out an ENTP. Your Type is ENTP Extraverted Intuitive Thinking Perceiving Strength of the preferences % 11 12 1 6
  15. That's got to be a rare one. Those were neat cars.
  16. Never taken it, but many of my coworkers had taken it at the start up I was at last summer--they all had their M-B codes posted on the company Wiki. But they were all conformists, IMHO, since almost all drove Toyotas.

    Pie

Best Key Lime pie I've ever had is in Key West, made from local Key Limes, but I'm biased towards the Keys since I used to live there. My Mom loves making peach cobbler and peach pie using peaches she grows, but I've never cared for peaches that much...I'm more a fan of banana creme pie and coconut creme.
  18. Wow...wonder how they did that. Yet another argument for designing break-away trees.
  19. Saw a gorgeous '65 Mustang GT coupe today, black, deep window tint, 5-spoke 'Bullitt' style AR mags, '70s gold AZ plate. Also saw a bright red '09 Challenger SRT8...looks much better in red than orange, IMHO.
  20. Sorry to hear to that...hope you can get it back on the road. I'm hoping I can get 200k out of the 4.0 in my Jeep, only 97k now.
  21. Sorry to hear to that...hope you can get it back on the road.
  22. I remember that thread...whatever happened to the car? You still driving it?
  23. Nice old beast..what color is the inside? Looks like black outside, black inside? Speaking of older luxo boats, I've been really enjoying my sister's old money pit I've been driving off and on as a daily driver the last 6 months---'84 Merc 500SEL w/ 178,xxx miles. She bought it back in '01 for $3k w/ a salvage title (was rebuilt after a head-on collision in '94). Just had $1100 in repairs yesterday (brake master cylinder blew out last week, front calipers, sun roof clippy thing, left front turn signal housing, etc). Back at the beginning of Jan it had about $700 in work for the broken gas pedal, one failed power window, and several other small things..she's on a first name basis with German Auto, the neighborhood independent Merc/BMW/Porsche repair shop and dealer. All in all, though, this old tank is growing on me (like a fungus?). By the way, 68, are you keeping the 500SEC? You change cars so fast, I can't keep track. I wouldn't mind having an '80s 6-series someday, as a teenager back in the day I remember lusting after the M6, esp. in bright red, around '87-88 time frame. There is a gorgeous red one around here. Over at German Auto this morning, I was checking out their used car area, they have a sweet silver '72 280SEL 4.5...those old SELs were pretty small compared to later ones--it's silver w/ black interior--the interior is perfect, probably not a native AZ car. I'm enjoying the downtime this week, starting my new gig next week. Probably going to drive up in the mountains and to the lakes and sightsee Thurs-Sat.
  24. Arsonist targets green Escorts
  25. Had to make an airport run at early o'clock this morning..on the way back, saw a clean black '65-67 Corvair coupe and a tan early '60s Rambler American convertible.
