Yeah, I'm partial to the '60s Connery movies, but still enjoy most of Moore movies, though I find Moonraker unwatchable. I really like Man with Golden Gun, For Your Eyes Only, and View To A Kill (the only Bond movie that came out when I was in high school). Favorite car...tough one...I especially like the Aston DBS from OHMSS, the '69 Cougar from OHMSS, dark red Lotus Esprit from FYEO, the Aston Vantage from Living Daylights, and the new Aston DBS from the Craig movies...

Yeah, and it was trippy how so many of the cars were '73 Chevys. I think I've seen most of the older Bond movies at least 5 times over the years....had all the older ones on Beta back in the '80s, then got the complete collection in a DVD set (up through Brosnan) as an Xmas gift a couple years ago..

In the Craig movies, their a lot of use of shaky hand-held cameras, just like in the Bourne movies (same 2nd unit director and cinematographer, I believe). I'm a fan of the Bourne movies and the Craig Bond movies, though I would like to see some more of the classic Bond elements return--Q, Moneypenny, more gadgets...

It's interesting how the various movies also reflect their times and draw from other movies...the 2nd Dalton movie felt like a Miami Vice episode, w/ the S. American drug lord, etc. The Craig movies remind me of the Bourne series of movies, lots of international locations with a lot of running, jumping, quick-cutting shakycam camera work, fist fights, etc.

I don't know how much they pay them here in Phoenix--I would assume they use illegals and pay them very little, since their is an infinite supply of them.

Yeah, Lazenby was pretty dreadful, so wooden...he was an Australian model, not an actor. It was a movie with a great villain (Blofeld again), great scenery, women, cars..would have been much better with Connery. James Brolin was considered for the role before Lazenby, apparently, according to the DVD extras..

One daft thing they did in the late '80s was the overuse of the Cutlass name...Cutlass Calais, Cutlass Ciera, Cutlass Supreme, Cutlass Supreme Brougham..

At least Jag is consistent...poor reliability has been a brand value for decades.

Those 90s Sevilles--both the '92-97 and the '98+ generation (and the Eldorado)--- are the cars that got me interested in modern Cadillacs..always liked the interiors but esp. the sharp, crisp angular lines..before I drove the '96 M3 that I ended up buying in '98, a '95-97 or so STS was at the top of my car shopping list, test drove a few clean used ones..but then fell in love with the M3, not for the styling or creature comforts, but how it drove....completely different types of cars, but both very appealing to me. I've always had a duality of interests--luxury cars, performance cars appeal equally to me, from cushy old school luxury, modern crisp luxury, raw muscle cars to modern precision performance cars. Sooner or later, I'll probably have a CTS or a G8, either would be ideal daily drivers for me, with the CTS ranking a bit higher for the creature comforts.

That reminds me of my buddy Dennis in Colorado Springs, except Pontiacs are his drug... he has 5 '68-71 GTOs, incl. 3 Judges (a '69 ht, '70 ht, '70 conv), a '94 Olds Cutlass convertible, an '87 Grand Prix 2+2, an '02 Trans Am, an '06 GTO and an '02 Yukon..recently caught up with him, he just ordered a G8 GXP. When he built his house in the mid '90s, he built a 10 car garage plus an extra 2 car garage.

Yeah, that part of Ohio has been on the decline for decades...I lived in the Akron area from '88-94, it was decaying/declining then, only worse now, I'm sure.

Yeah, it's in my top 10 also.. I've long been a fan of Michael Mann films, like 'Manhunter' and 'Collateral' also, loved 'Miami Vice' back in the day (even liked the 'Miami Vice' movie from a few years ago). I think my interest in full size V8 Ford unmarked cop cars goes back to childhood in the '70s-80s, watching all those '70s cop dramas like Police Story, the Dirty Harry movies, the Blues Brothers (well, that was a Dodge), and esp. the brown '71 Galaxie Burt Reynolds drove in 'White Lightning'...something about full size V8 sedans w/ a police package and the black steel wheels is very appealing to me.

Interesting you mention 'Heat'..after DeNiro drove one in 'Heat', and Nic Cage (or was it Travolta?) drove one in 'Face Off', I think I had a man crush on '90s Cadillac STSes. (and by the way, 'Heat' is one of my all-time favorite movies--great cast, great director, great music, great cinematography). And after several movies, incl. Christian Bale in 'Harsh Times', I've developed a man crush on unmarked Crown Vic PIs...such an iconic car, IMHO. Though I don't recall ever seeing a car similar my 1:1 '87 Mustang GT hatchback in movies, though I do recall a few convertibles and LX 5.0s in movies over the years..

I keep Jack in a bottle on a shelf w/ his buddies, Jim Beam and Jose Cuervo...

I generally avoid fast food anymore, but I still enjoy McDonald's breakfast items occasionally... or Jack in the Box and Taco Bell--I like Jack for the vast menu and that they are 5 min from the house. Sometimes I'm lazy about cooking or going out to dinner, so I stop by Jack on the way home..

I used to think that was why my Mustang would die after approx 1 hr or 50 miles of driving. Turned out to be a clogged fuel filter.

I always liked the styling of the '73, the heavy body sculpting and the great rear end.

Speaking of Saturns, I recently caught up via LinkedIn with a buddy from grad school that I remember as a big Saturn fan in the mid '90s. Back then, he and his wife had 2--a first gen S-series and a 2nd gen S-series sedan. I was curious if he was still a Saturn fan--was pleasantly surprised to see he still is--wife has an Outlook now, he has an Aura and is thinking about getting a Sky next year for his 40th birthday. Cool to see someone loyal to a GM brand.

Been listening to U2's new album, No Line on the Horizon alot since last Monday...loving it.
