  1. This is a car I didn't know existed...thought all the FBs in the '80s were 4drs. Pretty cool. 1985 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham 2dr for sale 17k miles
  2. Riiiight. I doubt if anyone gets over 17-18 with those beasts...
  3. Well, it does give Prius buyers an upgrade path when they want to go upscale.
  4. OMG! Camry roolez!! It is TEH BOMB! Toyota IS God! :) Of course, I'm sure these photos are automotive pr0n to the guys I worked with this summer at the startup---there were so many Toyota fanboys there---from the 24yr old w/ the new Camry w/ the 20 inch custom wheels, to the 4 Priuses, the 30-something ironman triatheletes---one with a Matrix and one with an FJCruiser, etc.. they were always picking on me for driving/liking American cars.
  5. I don't miss that sh*t...I talked w/ my Mom in E. Ohio (Steubenville area) and my sister in W. Ohio (Beavercreek/Dayton) this morning, sounds like they had snow going on and general typical Ohio gross winter weather. As much as dislike Arizona for many reasons, the winter weather here is fantastic---was out driving around today w/ all the windows down, sunroof open, blue skies and 65 degrees.
  6. I think I'm going to vomit. Did M-B hire Chris Bangle? This is really, really bad. Personally, I prefer Mercs with big, squarish grilles and stand up hood ornaments, like the one in my driveway:
  7. Well, since the Orlando is going to be the Cruze (Delta II?) platform, I'm assuming it will replace whatever Daewoo crud Chevy is peddling in Europe in this segment, and the HHR in the US.
  8. You have to be kidding...are the masses that lazy? I'd rather see the key return to the dash, as it has on many cars. The key on the steering column is a bit outdated...the push button start is a novelty gadget, didn't cars have those in ancient times?
  9. I'm envisioning a sleek little Chevy coupe off the Volt platform--maybe a modern 'Monza' as the Camaro's little brother...
  10. I'm disappointed... I'm a long time Merc fan, love the classic ones from the '50s up through the early '90s.... I like the current S-class, CLS, CLK, ML, the updated SL, but the C and now the new E just don't do it for me...and the GLK--blech!
  11. Ok...people misuse those terms so much that it drives me crazy some days.... but I'm happy today..some new interesting concept car pics to pore over, Barrett-Jackson is in a few days, the sun is shining, it's 65 degrees, watching the Steelers on TV...hope they can pull off a victory. Going to grill up some tandoori chicken later, found some naan at the grocery. Yumm...
  12. Probably didn't want to remind people of the stillborn ST.
  13. The only complaint I have is that I see a lot of Insignia in the front end detailing.
  14. I think a lot of the youth in the country are a bunch of lazy f*ckheads. I blame the parents.
  15. Yes...the body and most exterior detailing looks pretty much production ready, IMHO.
  16. Cool..hopefully, the cars will still be around on display later in week...I'm probably going Friday night or Saturday.
  17. Well, the '09 Ram was a big indication of Chrysler's improved execution, IMHO. Some of the detailing on that truck is very, very nice, IMHO, much nicer looking than the butt-ugly new Ford F150 or the disgusting Super Duty...
  18. Yes...had they executed it right, bold RWD models (add optional AWD for snowbelt whiners) for midsize and fullsize would have been a great differentiator for Mopar...a way to stand out in a world of mediocre FWD genericism.
  19. WOW. I love it..love the wheels, love the proportions... though the grille is too much like the Insignia. And, most important detail to me, RWD in a world of FWD generic mediocrity. 2 words: BUILD IT! Normalise the interior and drivetrain...
  20. Maybe they will do a Voltec version of this.... an electric MPV would be cool.
  21. I suspect GRWD is dead. I just can't see Ford making any more RWD models besides the Mustang.
  22. A friend of mine in grad school lived in our office for a couple semesters--he and I were student teachers i.e. research assistants, and shared an office w/ a couple others in the engineering complex..he would shower at the gym, etc. Since grad students kept weird hours, it wasn't strange to see him asleep on the couch in the office at 3 am. Eventually, he moved into the basement of the house I was renting w/ 3 other grad students. Fun times back in the day.
  23. Meh...same old generican sh*t they've had for a few years now with some trivial nose/tail trim differences. Vanilla as ever.
