  1. That one is odd..I've heard rumors of it several times, but no concept or spy pics have been seen yet...wonder if it's going to be a surprise at one of the major 09 shows..
  2. Could be..haven't seen anything concrete about it yet.
  3. tome
  4. Just thinking what is definitely coming between now and the end of next year... Buick: 2010 LaCrosse Cadillac: 2010 CTS coupe 2010 CTS wagon 2010 SRX Chevy: 2009 Traverse 2010 Camaro 2010 Equinox 2010 Cruze (or is it coming for '11 for NA?) GMC: 2010 Terrain (Torrent replacement) HUMMER: 2009 H3 pickup (out now or soon?) Pontiac: 2009 G8 GXP 2010 G8 ST 2009 Solstice Targa SAAB: 2010 9-4x 2010 SAAB 9-5 (or '11 MY?) Missing anything?
  5. Theta Epsilon and Theta Premium are names that have bounced around the internets, but who (outside of GM) knows the reality of what the platform is called, or what is distinct about it? Unibody, 4 wheel IRS, FWD, AWD...
  6. From what I've heard, '09 or '10 is the last year for the Panthers. Still unclear what they are going to do beyond that for the fleet and police (CV) market. I suppose the Taurus and MKS will be Ford's largest civilian models, supposedly the Sable is going away after '09.
  7. Given the JVs they have coming up, I wouldn't be surprised at a bigger Renault-Nissan-Chrysler tie up down the road..
  8. No idea, but I'm assuming Chevy ultimately won out since they were the biggest division, biggest # of sales, and the sheer # and ubiquity of SBCs over the decades..
  9. Yes...I'm looking forward to seeing it in person...certainly is a unique model right now..
  10. Since it's car based and probably will get mileage similar to the Camry, they probably decided it will likely do better than truck based SUVs or regular CUVs...it really is just a Camry tall wagon.
  11. Yes, that is the limiting factor...with out that, and if the economy were stronger, they could probably sell 50k of 'em as Chevys.
  12. Hella cool. I wouldn't mind working for them again.
  13. It will be interesting to see how it does in sales. I still think it would sell better had it been branded as a Chevy El Camino and used the history as a marketing aspect.
  14. Those are ones that make me go 'huh'?? I really liked the original Focus, esp. the hatches...I've driven regular and SVT ones, they were pretty sweet cars.. .the restyled current model, though..ugh....And the Sebring---the previous generations of sedans, coupe, and convertibles were good looking cars, IMHO...the new one, though..I can't say anything nice about the styling, I'm afraid..
  15. Saw a black one today when I went to lunch..love the lines. Saw a silver-blue R8 as well...
  16. Yes...such it is these days. I wonder if anyone in the biz uses clay anymore or can draw on paper...
  17. Yes, moderation. I try and have a very diverse diet...I try and avoid eating the same thing all the time, it gets dull....so I mix it up...salads, steaks, hamburgers, the occasional bbq ribs, Vietnamese noodle bowls, Thai curry dishes, Chinese, Indian, Mexican, etc. Choices in food alone are one of the reasons I have to be in a major metro area..
  18. So the SRX is moving downmarket..but will the price move also.
  19. RWD biased AWD is not the same as pure RWD. They are also available in Europe in FWD versions. Hell of a car nonetheless.
  20. Well, with Fiat as a parent, I suppose Maser can be allowed a few money-loosing years. Look at Jaguar under Ford..did it ever turn a profit in about 18 years of Ford ownership?
  21. Yes, lots of good stuff...I like most all of those...to that list I'd add the Quattroporte and CLS (my favorite Merc). The problem is, at the cheap end (under $30k), their isn't a lot that looks that great, IMHO.
  22. $30k is more upper end of the Equinox/Vue, I think...I assume the SRX will priced like the current SRX...it will be interesting to see how it competes, though... I don't see this SRX competing with more powerful V8 equipped models like the FX, X5, and ML...or will Cadillac not be aiming at them anymore ---that is where the current SRX was aimed, I thought... is the new SRX instead aimed at the sub $50k entry-lux market like the X3, GLK, RX, MDX, and MKX are?
  23. I wonder if they will do a GXP version as well, though.
  24. I think Toyota's investment/profits in full-size trucks/SUVs was pretty small relative to their total investments/profits, though...the Detroit 3 were/are far more dependent on profits from them.
  25. I suspect not.. 1996 (the year of the last big Caddy) is not coming back...which is sad...the Town Car is really the last of it's kind. Though I like ultramodern luxury cars like the CTS, Audis, BMWs, etc, part of me still loves the classic Detroit land yachts.
