Armada sinking?
It was sold in Canada also..probably a snowbird on their way to Florida.. I saw one here in Phoenix a few months ago with Alberta plates. From what I've read, it's not sold in Ca anymore, the Rogue is taking it's place, so we probably won't see it sold in the US.

Ahhh...didn't realize there were multiple pics..can't see the split wheel center hub in the first pic.

TRUCK DESIGN 101
Maybe the big windshield is shared w/ a COE cab as well..that could explain it's verticalness.. It's not as if the domestics haven't produced some uglies in their time...the rear of the fullsize GMC & Chevy vans, for instance--high mounted taillights, black trim, disgusting looking from behind, IMHO. Or the new Ford Super Duty with it's wierd headlight treatment...or the '08 Ford E-series van front end. etc, etc..

Armada sinking?
I would think the market for 5000-6000lb SUVs is tanking in general these days... what's with the strikethroughs in the post, BTW?

Auto Express announces revival of the Triumph brand
Top Gear had an episode the other night about '70s BL cars... This is a plausable BMW move, I had read they had considered reviving a British sports car brand rather than have a Z2 or smaller, cheaper sports car than the Z4. IIRC, BMW also owns the rights to other BL brands like Austin (and Austin-Healey?), Morris, Riley, and maybe Vanden Plas..

The O.C. Might Have to Change His Name.....
Funny...I was listening to one of drive-time radio shows tonight and they were talking about Canadians buying homes in Phoenix due to the weak dollar and relatively cheap cost here...

What Are You Listening To?
'Youngstown'--Bruce Springsteen (Live in NY City CD). (It's odd to be driving around sunny Phoenix listening to the Boss, but after seeing him & the ESB in concert again a couple weeks ago, I've been listening to a lot of Bruce..).

They have to be kidding ...
I'm looking forward to it also...I loved Speed Racer as a kid. I think 'Superhero Movie' is from the same folks that did 'Epic Movie' and 'Date Movie', those were funny in a very stupid sort of way...

Vauxhall unveils new Griffin badge
Ah yeah, I've seen the Fronteras when I've been across the pond...the Isuzu Rodeo and Amigo were the US market versions..

The O.C. Might Have to Change His Name.....
Cool... I'm doing something similar to that between Denver and Phoenix. I'm keeping my condo in Denver for now (may rent it out), and am going to be in Phoenix at least 6 months or more. My sister is working in Ohio, finding it difficult time-wise/etc to go back and forth every week...since I finished my most recent contract in Denver March 31, I'm down in Phoenix now house sitting for her...taking care of her house in central Phoenix, 4 dogs (my 1+ her 3), and her Benzes, she will probably come back once a month or so. Phoenix is an interesting place, I've been coming out here several times a year for the last 15 years, but I think it would be a fun place to live a few years...so far, it looks like the job market is still pretty strong here (had 2 in-person and 3 phone interviews this week so far).

Well, there are worse vehicle-themed series from the'70s- '80s that they could have revived..I remember 'Supertrain' and 'Highwayman'. How about something new and different--instead of Knight Rider being a Mustang, how about a Prius that goes 300mph and get 300mpg? Used to fight ecoterrorists and evil CEOs? Or Robocop on a Segway?

When I checked the forums tonight after a few days away, instead of seeing all the posts on one thread in line one after the other when I open the thread, I now see only the first post with a tree below it and the subsequent posts collapsed to show only the author and first line....what's up with that?

I wondered about that...I suspect the collision speed was too low to trigger the bags...

Bedford used the Griffin logo also, pretty neat..

CNN / Money rips ASTRA
In my Jeep, the cupholders are right behind the two shifty thingys... with a loose-fitting cup of coffee or bottle of water, I know I've spilled content into the shifty thingys over the years several times when I've had to make a hard stop or go over a bump. The tranny and xfer case seem to still work ok, though..

A little duct tape, bondo, a hammer and some spare parts and it should be good as new..

1984 Cutlass on eBay -- 20K miles
That little chrome mirror looks a lot like the one from a '69 Camaro.

BV's Junk Yard / Car Lot
Think of it as a movie car... IIRC, there was a TV show years ago with Michael Landon as an angel and a bearded guy and they drove around in a silver '77-79 LTD II 4dr.

Just got a Chevy Volt!
Cool...I'll have to get one of those... most of my diecast collection is in two storage units in Colorado and I still have quite a few at my folk's place in Ohio.

What the eff is wrong with GM?
I guess they are trying to scream 'WE ARE GREEN' even if it's an obese truck that barely gets 15 mpg..

Capriceman!
I saw a really clean '89-90 or so Caprice in traffic today..white w/ black out windows, wire wheel covers..very clean condition.

Showers don't just bring May flowers...
I took I-25 down from Denver, then from Soccoro, NM I took US 60 across NM and down to Phoenix.. US 60 is a great road, very little traffic, and the terrain is fascinating (the drive from Show Low AZ to Superior, AZ through Globe is incredible...winding and twisty up and down the Salt River Canyon). The desert is in spring bloom now, very beautiful. I stopped and took a tour of the Very Large Array radio telescope facility off US 60, it was featured in the movie 'Contact'...neat place. (NRAO VLA) I've done the I-25 to Albuquerque and then I-40 to Flagstaff and then down I-17 to Phoenix drive 3 times in the last few years, so I was looking for something different this time.

Just curious?
Denver and Phoenix here, though I'm originally from Ohio (and lived in S. Florida, Michigan, and Illinois in the past).

Showers don't just bring May flowers...
I took a road trip last week..left Denver Wednesday and drove down to Los Alamos, NM...then on Saturday, drove down to Soccoro, NM and took US 60 over to Show Low, AZ and then down through the Salt River Canyon through Globe and on into Phoenix...beautiful scenery. I saw quite a few interesting oldies, incl. a goregous white '68 Buick Wildcat 2dr, a light green '61 Cadillac 4dr ht, a maroon '68 Camaro SS, a couple '64-66 T-birds, and drove past a salvage yard in Soccoro, NM chock full of '50s-70s vintage cars. I saw a sharp yellow mid '60s Chevy stepside pickup here in Phoenix last night.
