  1. The 3-cylinder ecoboost could be a MPG king in the non-hybrid segment.
  2. Would make sense to bring them a bit closer to the family look. I'm really looking forward to the interiors.
  3. well it is one of the possible reasons we're not getting the Ford Fiesta ST Diesel
  4. Well yes... but at highway speeds it looks like it might cause some stability issue. Articulated loaders generally don't go over 25mph.. if even that much.
  5. From the limited view of that video, it looks as if the cab and bed can lock into place at speed and then unlock at lower speed. I would think there would be some inherent stability issue with a truck like that bending at the middle to steer while at highway speeds.
  6. I was joking. I have full disk wheel covers on my old car.... you'd never see anything behind them.
  7. you just know that some idiot would put the training wheels on the cab and try to run town the turnpike like that.
  8. Telsa but I doubt Elon is looking to sell at this point. Jaguar/Land Rover, but I feel like Tata is too happy with their performance right now. Maybe Ford could toss them Lincoln and the Chinese could finally make something of the brand. I feel like Lincoln is too damaged right now to even return.... Ford could give them up and use the money to restart Continental as its own brand again.
  9. Make anything for old brake drums?
  10. Interesting... my friend in Boston who bought a 500 last year wanted the Abarth or at least the Turbo, but wouldn't buy it without the automatic. Not because he can't drive manual (well... he can't...his shifting drives me nuts.. but he's owned a few) but because he didn't want a manual in the city.
  11. But that will get you how many miles? Filled up the Encore today for $3.799...and that gets me about 25 miles, so I'm betting you're getting the better deal.
  12. time to bank 12 months of car payments into a very nice down payment on the Encore. The new, more efficient and more torquey powerplants should be in place by then as well.
  13. was a mistake to cut out an option with a 50% take rate...
  14. I'd put Dodge in there too.
  15. I"m surprised the 3 isn't doing better. Clearly they started fleeting the 2... I've been seeing them in the rental lots lately. I wish there were more engine options on the 6... it would be on my list otherwise.
  16. We skipped the Chrome Rims, but we do have the upmarket paint (Carbon Black + $495), so it was roughly similar to ours. What was the interior color? I actually like ours without the chrome rims. Easier to keep clean. We're getting excellent fuel economy on ours.. city is usually mid-20s and highway is low-mid 30s. Not too shabby for a tall car with AWD.
  17. Ooooh, you're talking about a different thing than me. For some reason, I think this is a known issue at Chrysler. Let me see if I can find anything.
  18. She's going to love that Encore when you finally buy one for her.
  19. We're having the same problem on our Buick actually. Lock and unlock work, but remote start we need to be right on top of the car for it to work. I had a rental Encore on a recent trip and I could start it from far away.
  20. Lincoln is finally advertising competitively and going straight for Lexus where it can.
  21. Maybe they are going for a reboot and to regrow Hyundai style. Start with just one econo-box and move up from there.
  22. Two pristine Allantes and an Audi R8 all in the span of 5 minutes. Made me wonder if there was a car cruise around nearby, but the weather has been nasty all day.
  23. Does that really matter over the course of a trip? They also do not need to charge to full, they only need to charge enough to get to their next charge point. They also save time by charging while doing other stuff. While I have to stay by the pump to push 27 gallons into a Suburban, they go into the rest stop, eat, use the facilities, and go while their car is being charged. Teslas require a change in thinking about refueling habits.
  24. Why force the brand on the Chinese when they obviously prefer the same cars under the Buick badge? Save the marketing dollars for Buick.
  25. 5 Tesla Model-S on a trip from NJ to RI and back. One of which I encountered in South Jersey and then again in Connecticut as they were just leaving the super-charger station. We were making the same pace over that road trip.
